Chapter 68 Ginseng Essence

It's not that she's picky; she just really doesn't like those kinds of foods. Besides, she can endure this level of hunger if she just tries.

Besides, the pot is already smoking, so how far is it from the rice being cooked?

Cheng Qingyan straightened his clothes and said in a serious tone, "I'm not very hungry. I'll go into the kitchen and find a stick. Since we have nothing else to do, I'll hang up the red lanterns we bought for decoration."

"Dinner will be ready soon. Why don't you wait for me and Chu Ying to help you prepare it? That way, we can feel more involved."

Meng Chuying nodded repeatedly; she also wanted to help tidy up the house and decorate the courtyard.

"That's fine, I'll go do something else first."

"Okay, I'll call you when the food is ready."

Cheng Qingyan turned the soaps she had made over to check how well they had been air-drying over the past few days.

Not bad, everything is moving in a positive direction.

Both she and Ye Lingyu are moving towards a brighter tomorrow.

She hadn't been in her space for several days, and the crops, fruits, and vegetables had all ripened.

After the harvest, some peanuts, potatoes, tomatoes, and peppers were planted.

Oh, right, I also planted some green beans.

She wanted to see just how green beans, a staple of northern culture, could become a nightmare for northern children.

The green beans in the north are ready to be harvested, meaning that the green beans grown in the vegetable gardens of northerners have grown well and are ready to be eaten, and in large quantities, more than they can eat.

Green beans are a common vegetable that she likes to eat and often sees on the dinner table.

But people from the South have never experienced things like the North, where people put green beans in their rice when cooking.

She had only learned this new knowledge online: green bean rice.

She simply planted four rows of green beans, wanting to see how many they would yield. She wanted to experience what it felt like for a northern child to be so eager to uproot the green bean vines.

The ginseng plant that she had planted in the ground when she first started playing this homestead game seemed to have changed this time.

They've grown up; they've visibly grown bigger.

Also, why does that ginseng seem to be emitting a white light? Is it about to become a spirit?

It's no wonder she overthinks things; she's managed to travel to this place, so what can't happen?

Even if this ginseng were to run around on the ground right in front of her now, she wouldn't find it strange.

After thinking about it this way, I started hallucinating.

The ginseng that should have been planted in the ground has grown out!

It was chubby and white, wriggling its body and taking short steps as it ran towards Cheng Qingyan!

Holy crap! Is this for real? The ginseng has really come to life?

Cheng Qingyan turned and ran. Did this ginseng want to eat her?

No, no, she and her wife had just started living a shameless life together, she didn't want to die now!

Get out, get out, leave this space immediately!

She emerged from the space, drenched in sweat from fright.

She turned around to look for it, worried that the ginseng that had become a spirit might come out of the space and chase after her!

Thankfully, it seems it can't leave the space and didn't come here with her.

Ye Lingyu was about to call Cheng Qingyan for dinner when she saw that Cheng Qingyan looked terrified and absent-minded.

"Ayan, what's wrong? Why are you sweating so much inside? Are you feeling unwell?"

Cheng Qingyan looked outside but didn't see Meng Chuying. He whispered, "Wife, I was just chased by a ginseng spirit! It scared me to death!"

Ye Lingyu placed her hand on her forehead to make sure she wasn't delirious from the fever. Where did this ginseng spirit come from?

Cheng Qingyan frowned: "Wife, I'm not delirious from the fever. It's right here in my space, really!"

A spatial world? That's possible. After all, Cheng Qingyan's magical world is not something ordinary people can possess.

They are not ordinary people, so even if some illogical things happen, it is still reasonable.

Ye Lingyu lifted Cheng Qingyan's arm and checked him over: "Are you hurt?"

Cheng Qingyan shook his head: "Wife, I'm fine. It just ran towards me when I came out, and it didn't catch up with me."

"That's good. We can talk about this after we finish eating. Let's go eat now so you don't overthink things." Ye Lingyu breathed a sigh of relief that Cheng Qingyan wasn't injured; perhaps that thing didn't intend to harm her.

Her magical world was a place of freedom and splendor. People could live there, and everything belonged to Cheng Qingyan.

If it really is a ginseng spirit, would it also listen to Cheng Qingyan's words?

While Cheng Qingyan ate happily, Ye Lingyu seemed somewhat distracted. Several times she only ate her rice and forgot to pick up any other dishes.

She was somewhat worried, afraid that things would get out of control and that Cheng Qingyan would get hurt.

How could humans possibly fight against monsters?

After finishing the meal, before even cleaning up the dishes, Meng Chuying was sent out to play with her friends.

She wondered what the ginseng spirit might be doing in Cheng Qingyan's little world. What if it caused trouble and hurt Cheng Qingyan? Wouldn't she regret it immensely?

"Ayan, Chuying has gone out to play and won't be back for a while. Let's go check out that spatial world. I'm a little worried."

"Okay, hold my hand tightly. If things don't go well, we'll come out immediately and never go back in."

After agreeing on the terms outside, Ye Lingyu went to the kitchen to get a cleaver, while Cheng Qingyan carried a wood-chopping knife. The couple nervously entered the space.

There were no signs of damage in the space, and Cheng Qingyan looked around warily.

Logically speaking, the homestead system shouldn't have given her anything dangerous. This ginseng spirit might not necessarily harm her.

There was no trace of the plump, white ginseng spirit in the ginseng garden; no one knew where she had gone.

Ye Lingyu was also carefully observing her surroundings. She felt that apart from the different plants, nothing else had changed in the spatial world.

At least, her previous fears about the ginseng spirit causing trouble have now been confirmed.

The ginseng spirit didn't cause any damage; the field didn't look like it had been disturbed at all. It seemed like a good monster.

"Ayan, have you found anything?" Ye Lingyu looked around warily, afraid that the ginseng spirit would suddenly jump out from some direction.

Cheng Qingyan was standing at the entrance of the courtyard, about to say that she hadn't found anything, when she felt a ball of white light flying toward her at an unbelievable speed.

Startled, she and Ye Lingyu retreated. For a moment, she couldn't remember anything about the agreement they had made before entering the space to leave if things went wrong.

Pulling Ye Lingyu behind him to protect her, the little white dumpling bumped into her directly, surprisingly without feeling any pain.

The little white ball of a baby bumped into her and grabbed her clothes, refusing to let go, wailing loudly. It was milky white, chubby, and its cries sounded just like a baby's.

There's a little green tuft tied at the top, and it sways back and forth as the animal moves.
