Chapter 1 Old Land

The train went away, bringing with it large swathes of withered yellow leaves and the bleakness of autumn as the sound of the rails vibrated.

Wang Xuan stared until the train gradually disappeared, then he withdrew his gaze and saw off a few more classmates.

From now on, we will go our separate ways and I don’t know how many years it will take for us to meet again. Some people may never meet again.

Around, some people were still waving slowly, not letting go for a long time, while others were silent, looking quite sad.

We have been together for four years in college, and the friendship we have built is always hard to give up.

The afterglow of the setting sun shines obliquely on the falling yellow leaves, and the mottled light and shadows interweave to create a sense of the passing of time.

A pretty girl turned around and secretly wiped away the tears behind her glasses.

In this special era, they will go their separate ways after graduation and may never meet again in this life.

The autumn wind blows, and the yellow leaves are in disarray and fluttering.

In this season, some people are frustrated and some are happy.

It has been four months since graduation. Some people stayed in this city with a bright future, some were waiting and holding on in anxiety, and more people left with disappointment and will return to their hometowns.

Wang Xuan was walking on the way back, wondering where he would go next.

The streets were old, and the plane trees on both sides of the road had dropped leaves in large pieces, covering the ground.

Someone walked side by side with him and spoke up for him: "You are not among the ones left behind. Why is this happening? They actually gave up on you!"

As a classmate and good friend, Qin Cheng believes that whenever there is a vacancy, Wang Xuan will definitely be selected.

After the results came out, many people felt mixed emotions as Wang Xuan was not selected.

"Let's not talk about me. How about you? Did you get any results?" Wang Xuan asked him.

Qin Cheng whispered to him that his family had used their connections and he might be able to go to Xinyue.

"New Moon, on the other side of the deep space, I wonder if we can see each other again in the future." Wang Xuan stopped, as all his friends around him were going on a long journey.

He was tall but not thin, well-proportioned and strong. In the sunset, his body had a layer of light golden glow, and his eyes were clear and bright.

"I will come back, and we will definitely meet again." Qin Cheng is a sentimental person. He is reluctant to leave his hometown, especially when he thinks that it will be difficult to see his friends again. He feels uncomfortable.

"Call me when you come back!" Wang Xuan hugged his shoulders tightly.

A choking sound was heard in the wind. Wang Xuan and Qin Cheng turned around and saw a male classmate who was very emotional.

He turned pale, cried out loudly, and shouted: "I really want to stay in this city and wait until the last chance. I don't want to go back to my hometown like this!"

Having lived and studied here for four years, he has worked very hard, striving, fighting, and planning for his future, wanting to find his own place, but in the end he couldn't stay.

He burst into tears.

The autumn wind brought chill, and some students felt depressed.

On the other side, a couple stopped and looked at each other, without saying a word, just crying silently.

They will part ways, and from now on they will not be separated by thousands of miles, but by a starry sky, and they may never see each other again in this life.

With tears on their faces, both of them hugged each other for the last time, and then there was only silence.

The city is big, but a bit old, retaining traces of the old times. Many of the old trees along the road are very thick and may be one or two hundred years old.

Relatively speaking, the whole city has inherited the style of the past and has been preserved over the years.

Elsewhere, some cities left over from the old times have been abandoned and have been uninhabited for a long time. Large areas are barren, covered with vines and thorns, and are gradually being submerged by grass and trees.

After returning to the campus, Qin Cheng was still upset about Wang Xuan and advised him to find someone to find out why he was abandoned and get an explanation.

Even after graduation, they are allowed to live on campus until all final candidates are confirmed.

This opportunity is rare. The chosen ones will stay in this city and wait. They will soon go to Nova, where there seems to be some unusual discovery.

Qin Cheng was not selected either. His family tried their best but only gave him the opportunity to enter deep space.

He will go to the New Moon, the moon that revolves around Nova and is the most important base outside Nova.

Qin Cheng whispered, "You know, even if there are only a few rumors now, it has already made those who got the inside scoop in advance excited. No matter what, you have to get a spot!"

Under the moonlight, the shadows of the trees were dancing, and Wang Xuan was stretching his body on the lawn. He was practicing the "Sanshu" of the old times. It was very practical and caused a large number of yellow leaves on the ground to fly up and fill the sky.

He did not stop, his movements were fast but his breathing was steady, and he said, "I'm waiting for the final result."

The deep space is endless, the universe is vast, but it is cold and dead. Apart from the old land, people have only found one other new star of life.

However, many years ago, the door to the new star was closed, and it is difficult for ordinary people from the old land to enter.

Some people are gradually beginning to refer to this place as old land relative to the new star.

In the past, this place was called Earth, and it was the origin of mankind.

Perhaps, it is indeed a bit "old", and there are many deserted cities everywhere, overgrown with weeds and uninhabited.

All of this was caused by a war in the old days.

When technology develops to a certain level, a hot war would be extremely terrifying if it broke out.

The prosperous world was destroyed and became extremely desolate and depressed.

At that time, a large number of people fled into space.

In fact, human technology at that time was not as advanced as imagined. They had just started to build a base on the moon before the war.

Therefore, those who escaped can only use the moon as a foothold temporarily.

It was under such circumstances that humans suddenly achieved a great migration, discovered and entered a new planet of life!
