When Chi Xia said her last sentence, it was already tinged with ruthlessness, clearly indicating that she had made up her mind.
Han Junche looked at her and said in a deep voice, "I'm not as great as you think. The most fundamental reason for everything I've done is that I want us to live a good life in the future, without the crisis of zombies and shortages of resources and energy, to be able to have children with you, and to live freely with our children."
“I won’t joke with my own life, much less make any sacrifices to save all of humanity. I understand your concerns, and those concerns are very likely to come true. So I promise you, no more people will ever know that I am immune to the zombie virus.”
He reached out and gently touched the top of Chi Xia's head, looking at her softly and saying, "Don't worry, I really wouldn't be that foolish. I'm going to spend my whole life with you. If I can't even take care of myself, how can I take care of you?"
Hearing this, Chi Xia's initial irritation subsided somewhat.
She sniffed: "Swear it."
"Okay, I swear." Han Junche held up three fingers and said seriously, "I swear that I will never do anything beyond my ability in the future, and I will never allow any kind of sacrifice. I will definitely protect myself and you. If I break this oath, may heaven, earth, humans, ghosts and gods abandon me and I be reborn into the six realms of hell, never to be reincarnated."
This oath is a bit too harsh. Chi Xia blinked: "We are good young people who grew up under the red flag, what are we talking about ghosts and gods for?"
Han Junche looked at her: "Then should I send another one?"
"Never mind." Chi Xia stopped him. She didn't mean for him to say anything too harsh. "Just remember what you said today."
Looking at her, Han Junche knew that today's matter was over. He wanted to reach out and take her hand, but Chi Xia glared at him: "I'm driving, don't make trouble. You should rest now and don't do anything unless it's absolutely necessary."
Han Junche immediately nodded obediently: "Okay, I'll do whatever my wife says."
The team headed straight for the nearest zombie gathering point to the Sirius Base.
The area had been bombed by missiles and was now a scorched wasteland.
Chi Xia and the others stopped about three kilometers away. Instead of rushing forward, they gathered together and observed the area with binoculars.
Han Junche, Chi Xia, and Qin Zhao were in front, while Lin Yi, Wang Dalong, and Wang Erlong, along with their teammates, lagged behind a meter away, waiting for their decision.
Qin Zhao glanced at the situation ahead and said in a low voice, "They've stretched out their lines now, and there are probably tens of thousands of zombies ahead. We definitely can't fight them head-on. Why don't I go and see if I can control them?"
Han Junche thought for a moment and nodded, "Okay, you fly over there directly. If you can't control it, come back immediately."
Qin Zhao glanced at him and said, "Don't worry, I'm not like you. I can't sacrifice my own interests for the greater good."
Knowing he was in the wrong, Han Junche silently accepted his provocation.
Qin Zhao didn't linger; he immediately took to the air and headed straight for the zombies.
Among the dozens of people they brought with them, many were from the Starfire Alliance. They were quite calm about Qin Zhao's ability to fly, but the people from the Sirius Base were seeing it for the first time, and they all gaped in astonishment.
Wang Dalong chuckled and whispered, "Calm down, comrades. This is just a routine operation by our Boss Qin."
The people at Sirius Base snapped out of their daze and asked, "What kind of superpower is this? We've never seen it before."
Lin Yi explained the gravity ability to them, and to prevent Wang Dalong from accidentally revealing Qin Zhao's identity, he added, "Qin Zhao's ability is extremely useful. Since we don't have a helicopter, Qin Zhao has been in charge of reconnaissance."
