When the people at the base find out that they forced Han Junche to stage this whole thing in order to take advantage of his influence and avoid losing their management positions, wouldn't that make them even more despicable?
However, seeing Jia Li's cold expression, Jia Jing ultimately said nothing.
When Han Junche returned to the room, Chi Xia had already finished eating and was lying on the bed reading a book.
The curtains in the room were drawn back, instantly brightening the room. His pajamas, which he had changed out of earlier, were now neatly hung on the rack, showing that the room had been carefully tidied up.
Seeing him return, Chi Xia immediately put down her book and gave him a big smile: "Ache, you're back. Have you eaten yet?"
The chains binding her hands and feet rattled whenever she moved.
Han Junche looked at the iron chains on her hands, his eyes darkening. He closed the door, sat down on the bed, and looked at her without saying a word.
Chi Xia knew him too well. Looking at his current expression, she knew he was in a bad mood. She got out of bed, knelt down and walked a few steps to his side, put her arm around him, and gently leaned on his shoulder: "What's wrong, A-Che? He was fine when we went out just now."
Han Junche remained silent. He simply reached out and put his arm around her waist, pulling her onto his lap. Then he lowered his head and buried his face deeply in her shoulder.
Chi Xia had never seen him so downcast. After a slight pause, she reached out and gently stroked his back, saying softly, "It's okay, A-Che, I'm here."
Upon hearing her words, Han Junche tightened his arms around her, pulling her deep into his embrace.
Neither of them spoke; they simply held each other tightly, as if only in this way could they feel each other's presence.
After an unknown amount of time, Chi Xia sensed that he had finally calmed down and was no longer so depressed, so she spoke softly, "A-Che, can we talk this over properly?"
Han Junche lowered his eyes, concealing all the light in them, and did not answer.
Chi Xia released him, looked at his half-closed eyes, sighed softly and said seriously, "A-Che, I want to have a serious talk with you."
“There’s nothing to talk about.” Han Junche finally spoke. He looked up at Chi Xia and reached out to stroke her cheek. “Give me some time. I will handle things with the Jia family. After that, I will leave here with you.”
His idea coincided with Chi Xia's, and Chi Xia immediately smiled, sat up straight and looked at him with bright eyes: "That's great, that's what I was thinking too! After we leave here, we'll take Lin Yi and Li Han and find a place to build our own base. The base doesn't need to be too big, just recruit some like-minded people. If they have the ability, we can also take in ordinary people."
Looking at the light in her eyes, Han Junche seemed to be infected by her emotions, and nodded slightly with a slight smile: "Yes, I'll listen to you."
Hearing this, Chi Xia's smile widened even more, and she lightly pecked him on the lips: "A-Che, you're so sweet!"
Han Junche didn't speak, but quietly looked at her with his deep black eyes, then leaned down and deepened the kiss.
After the kiss, both of them were a little out of breath. They snuggled together sweetly until Han Junche's stomach rumbled. Only then did Chi Xia remember that he hadn't eaten yet. She immediately got off him and urged him to go eat.
For Han Junche, eating one more or one less meal didn't matter, but when Chi Xia put on a stern face, he still listened to her and obediently went downstairs.
Chi Xia watched him close the door, satisfied with his obedience, but when she saw the chain on her wrist, her mood soured.
Okay, let's take it one step at a time.
