As soon as Qin Zhao answered the phone, he heard Han Junche's cold voice: "I'm asking you, how old does a wolf have to be to be considered an adult?"
The abrupt question left Qin Zhao somewhat bewildered. He thought for a moment: "Four years old?"
Han Junche was immediately enraged upon hearing this and yelled at him, "Mengmeng is about to give birth, and you're telling me now that wolves don't reach adulthood until they're four?!"
Is Mengmeng about to give birth?!
Qin Zhao was stunned for a moment, then instantly became overjoyed and burst into laughter: "Great! My son did a wonderful job!"
Han Junche's face was as black as could be: "Mengmeng is only three years old, how could Xiaohui do that?! How did you teach him?!"
Qin Zhao laughed heartily, even starting to gloat: "I taught it very well! I taught it all the lessons I learned from my failures, telling it that you must strike first! See, isn't its learning ability amazing!"
"Ha!" Han Junche sneered, "Beast!"
"Little Gray is a beast, after all," Qin Zhao said matter-of-factly. "Is there a problem with that?"
Han Junche gritted his teeth: "The beast I'm talking about is you!"
Qin Zhao was stunned for a moment, and was about to retort when he heard the busy tone on the phone.
Qin Zhao was so angry he wanted to jump up and down! What kind of person is this, cursing and then running away, with no manners at all.
Chi Xia was overjoyed to learn that Mengmeng was about to give birth and asked Jerry about the situation in detail.
When Jerry entered the Space Farm today, Mengmeng and Xiaohui, who had been free-range in the mountains, suddenly appeared in front of him, with Mengmeng sporting a large pregnant belly.
Jerry immediately realized that Mengmeng must be about to give birth, which was why Little Grey and he came to him to provide Mengmeng with a comfortable and safe birthing environment.
Jerry was already an experienced midwife; he had delivered many of the cows, horses, and sheep on the farm. He immediately checked Mengmeng over, and after confirming that everything was normal, he prepared a comfortable place for her before leaving the space to report the good news to Chi Xia.
After learning the whole story, Chi Xia was overjoyed: "That's great! My daughter is going to have a baby too. I wonder if it will be a red-haired or gray-haired baby."
Jerry, who always sided with Chi Xia, immediately said, "It's definitely the red hair. Red hair is a dominant gene."
Chi Xia was delighted to hear this and said to Jerry, "Take a break from what you're doing these next two days and stay in the space to wait for Mengmeng to give birth."
After saying that, she added, "No, you should come and stay with me for a couple of days, right next door. After Mengmeng gives birth, bring the baby out so I can see it."
Jerry hadn't seen Chi Xia in a long time, so he immediately agreed: "Okay, I'll come over tonight."
Chi Xia responded and then inquired in detail about Mengmeng's condition and the preparations Jerry had made for Mengmeng's delivery before hanging up the phone.
After hanging up the phone, Chi Xia was filled with joy and eager to share it with someone. She first went next door to tell Zhang Xin about it, and the two chatted happily for a long time before going to find Han Junche to share it with him as well.
She happily ran to Han Junche's office and told him that Mengmeng was going to give birth, but what she got in return was Han Junche's low mood and cold face.
Chi Xia's joy was instantly dashed, as if someone had poured a bucket of cold water on her.
She said somewhat displeasedly, "I'm talking to you!"
Han Junche looked up at her, his face still somewhat dark. Not wanting to upset Chi Xia, he asked, "Is it really something to be happy about?"
Chi Xia immediately became angry upon hearing this: "Mengmeng is my daughter! She's about to give birth, why can't I be happy?"
"I can't be happy," Han Junche said honestly. "It... is too small."
