After the phone call, Chunli seemed to finally feel affection for the little life inside her, and chuckled twice.
Chi Xia couldn't bear to watch. She waved her hand and said, "Never mind, Zhang Xin and I are leaving now. I didn't have lunch, but I've had my fill of dog food (a Chinese slang term for witnessing public displays of affection)."
"Don't go!" Chunli said quickly. "I haven't eaten either. Liu Daniu is coming soon. Let's go have a meal together."
"No, thank you." Chi Xia firmly refused, "I'm afraid I won't be able to eat. You two eat by yourselves."
Zhang Xin handed the report back to her and added, "Sister Chi and I don't want to be third wheels. You and Liu Daniu can enjoy your time together. When he comes later, you and he can listen to the doctor's instructions. Let me repeat, this baby in your belly isn't just yours and Liu Daniu's. Be careful."
"Okay, okay." Chunli nodded repeatedly, "I understand."
Chi Xia and Zhang Xin then went out together. The hospital director and the head of the obstetrics and gynecology department were still waiting outside. Chi Xia and Zhang Xin had a simple meal with them before leaving.
After leaving the hospital, Chi Xia also went to inspect a few departments.
