If it weren't for her special ability, she definitely wouldn't have discovered this place. Even if she had, she would have just thought it was a crack in the wall and would never have imagined that there was something else behind it.
Chi Xia flicked her fingers, igniting a small fireball at her fingertips. Using the light from the fireball, she walked down the stairs to the ground floor.
At the end of the stairs was indeed a warehouse, filled with all sorts of goods, food, water, daily necessities, and even some clothes.
Chi Xia was excited. She huffed and puffed as she carried anything she thought was useful into her storage space. She didn't know how long she carried it, but when she looked at the empty supermarket and the neatly arranged storage space, she returned to the ground with satisfaction.
The warehouse was empty, but she still closed the door and restored the outside to its original state.
Chi Xia took out six bottles of water and five packets of instant noodles from her spatial storage, rolled them on the ground to make sure they looked like unearthed artifacts, and then put them into her backpack and walked outside.
By then it was completely dark, and there were hardly any stars to be seen. Only the moon hung alone in the night sky, truly a scene of bright moon and sparse stars.
Silver moonlight spilled across the earth, and all was silent.
In a peaceful and prosperous era, this would certainly be considered a stunning night view, but now that it's the end of the world, the silvery, cold moonlight inexplicably gives people a chill.
When Chi Xia returned to the house she had settled in, the three members of the Ye family were already terrified.
They have no superpowers, nor any weapons to defend themselves. In the apocalypse, not only have humans mutated, but even animals and plants have mutated. If they were to encounter even one or two mutated creatures, they would have no ability to fight back.
Of course, they would much rather encounter a whole animal than half a live one.
Hearing the sound of movement, the three members of the Ye family huddled together in fright. They didn't dare to open their eyes, just screaming and waving their arms and legs wildly, creating a scene reminiscent of a chaotic dance of demons.
Chi Xia looked at the three of them with a mixture of anger and amusement. They were so scared, yet they treated the only person who could save them with such hostility. She wondered what was wrong with their brains.
She coughed lightly, rubbed her fingers together, and lit a tiny flame at her fingertips, acting as a human candle. She spoke softly, "It's me."
Upon hearing her voice, the three members of the Ye family stopped shouting and moving, and cautiously opened their eyes.
Upon seeing her, the three men's expressions immediately changed. They released each other and glared at her with resentment.
Ye Wenbo yelled at her, "Why are you only coming back now? Did you try to scare us to death?!"
"Exactly!" Ye Wenxin shouted in agreement, "Knowing that none of the three of us have any special abilities, you still left us here. I think you're deliberately trying to make our lives miserable!"
Before Chen's mother could finish what Ye Wenxin and Ye Wenbai had said, she could only add resentfully, "Wenbai and Wenxin are right, I think you did it on purpose!"
"Then I'll take you guys with me next time I go out."
Chi Xia shrugged indifferently: "Perfect. If I encounter zombies and can't beat them, I can send one of you out to feed them. Sacrificing one to save everyone is a good idea."
After she finished speaking, she nodded, as if it were a good idea.
The three who had been shouting immediately fell silent upon hearing this, while Chen Mu, though blustering, stammered, "You...you dare!"
"What do I have to be afraid of?" Chi Xia snorted coldly: "If I leave you here, you'll say I'm just trying to scare you. Then I can only take you with me wherever I go in the future. But my abilities are limited, and I can't always protect all three of you at the same time. If I really have no choice, I can only protect one at a time."
