After Chunli and Zhang Xin returned to their residence, Zhang Xin quietly told them about Chunli's misunderstanding of Liu Daniu that morning.
Chunli's face immediately flushed with embarrassment: "Why didn't you say so sooner?"
Zhang Xin blinked: "It was hard to say back then. My brother-in-law hadn't told Sister Chi about Yin Wanrou yet. What if I said back then that Yin Wanrou had mistaken someone for someone else, and Sister Chi misunderstood my brother-in-law?"
"That makes sense." Chunli nodded. "Then why didn't you say anything later?"
Zhang Xin knew Chunli would ask this question, and she had already prepared an explanation. She immediately said, "My brother-in-law arrived a little while later, and then we were notified of a meeting. I just didn't have time."
Chunli thought about what she had said to Liu Daniu earlier and felt a rare pang of guilt: "Liu Daniu, he..."
"It's okay." Zhang Xin patted her shoulder: "Liu Daniu's heart and eyes are full of you. As long as you are not angry with him, he will be happier than anything else and will not care about these things at all."
Chunli thought about Liu Daniu's simple and honest nature and immediately felt relieved.
It's better to find someone simple-minded; at least you don't need to coax them. Just give them a little attention, and they'll be bubbling with happiness on their own.
Two hours later, the group appeared at the base gate on time. As soon as Liu Daniu saw Chunli, he happily clung to her. Seeing his expression, Chunli's heart softened, and she gave him a rare smile.
Liu Daniu's face lit up immediately, and he went further, demanding to ride in the same car as her.
Just as Chunli was about to refuse, Zhang Xin, who had made Liu Daniu take the blame for half the day, spoke up first out of a sense of compensation: "Chunli, say yes to him."
Chunli agreed half-heartedly after hearing this.
Liu Daniu had already learned to drive on the way to H City and took the initiative to sit in the driver's seat. Zhang Xin pushed Chunli into the passenger seat and opened the door to sit in the back seat herself.
Just as he sat down, the door on the other side opened, and Li Han sat down inside.
Zhang Xin stiffened and silently moved to the side.
Li Han didn't say much; after sitting down, he remained silent.
The group was about to set off when Yin Wanrou, having somehow gotten wind of the situation, rushed over with a suitcase.
Han Junche saw her from afar, and before the trunk was even fully tidied up, he slammed the car door shut, got into the driver's seat, stepped on the gas, and drove off without even giving her a glance.
Liu Daniu's attention was entirely focused on Chunli, who was sitting in the passenger seat, and he didn't even see Yin Wanrou running over.
It wasn't until Han Junche's car had driven quite a distance that he came to his senses.
Just as he was about to light the fire, Yin Wanrou rushed over and stopped him.
The base gate was on the right side of the car. As soon as Yin Wanrou arrived, she saw Chunli sitting in the passenger seat. She had seen Chunli talking to Liu Daniu earlier. Although Chunli had her back to her and she couldn't see Chunli's expression, Yin Wanrou had seen Liu Daniu's fawning and ingratiating manner.
Yin Wanrou looked at Chunli with disdain: "You fickle woman! How can there be such a bitch like you?"
Chunli knew that Yin Wanrou mistook her for Chi Xia, but even though she knew there was a misunderstanding, she was still very unhappy to be scolded. Besides, although Yin Wanrou was talking to her, the person being scolded was actually Chi Xia. Based on that alone, Chunli would not swallow her anger.
