After saying this, she suddenly slammed her head against the table. Not content with just one slam, she slammed it a second time, and a third time.
Chunli stared coldly at her, at her near-self-harming behavior: "You're a madwoman!"
Yao Na lifted her clothes, looked at the bruises on her body, and raised an eyebrow in satisfaction: "Alright, you can go hungry today."
After saying that, she turned and walked away, but after taking a couple of steps, she turned back and said, "Oh, by the way, if you're really starving, you can pick up the food on the ground and eat it, or you can just lie down and lick it clean. Nobody will see you anyway."
Yao Na is gone.
Chunli looked at the mess on the floor and kicked the bowls on the ground angrily: "Crazy, he's a complete lunatic!"
If she had known Yao Na was going to pull this stunt, she should have quickly grabbed a bite of food!
Yao Na arrived at her building, looked at the food stains on her clothes, pinched her arm hard, and then opened the door and went inside.
Inside the house, Geng Lang was reading a book. Hearing the door open, he didn't look up, but simply said, "You're back."
"Mmm," Yao Na responded softly, and stepped inside.
Geng Lang didn't pay any attention until he heard her go upstairs, at which point he came to his senses.
Yao Na usually comes over and plays with him, so why is she so quiet today? Not only did she not come over to keep him company, she didn't even say a word to him.
Geng Lang frowned, put down his book, and went upstairs.
As soon as he got upstairs, he saw Yao Na sitting on the edge of the bed, sobbing softly.
Geng Lang's heart tightened, and he hurriedly stepped forward: "What's wrong? Why are you crying?"
Yao Na raised her teary eyes, glanced at him, then turned away, wiped her tears, and whispered, "It's nothing."
"What do you mean 'nothing'? You've been crying!" Geng Lang sat down next to her, took her hand, and gently pulled her to face him. Just as he was about to speak, he saw the mess on Yao Na's body.
Geng Lang's eyes immediately turned cold: "What's going on?"
"It's nothing." Yao Na tried to pull her hand away, but couldn't, so she gave up and let him hold it. "Lili's teammates all went out to find supplies. I thought Lili must be lonely by herself, so I went to bring her food, but..."
She choked up and couldn't continue.
Looking at the stains on her clothes, Geng Lang understood immediately: "In the end, instead of being grateful, she swept the food away?"
Yao Na nodded slightly.
Geng Lang was furious: "Why did you bring her food? Has she ever given you a kind look? You've given in to her time and time again, treating her like a younger sister, and what has she done to you in return!"
Yao Na lowered her head, tears streaming down her face, and remained silent.
Seeing her like this, Geng Lang felt heartbroken and sighed, "I'm not blaming you. I just want to tell you that some people's hearts are made of stone and can't be warmed at all. You don't need to worry about her. She's not a child. She'll find food herself when she's hungry."
Yao Na wiped away her tears and said softly, "Yes, I understand."
"You're just too soft-hearted." Geng Lang sighed deeply, reached out and hugged her waist, wanting to pull her into his arms.
But just as he exerted force with his arm, he heard Yao Na hiss.
Geng Lang was taken aback: "What's wrong?"
"N-nothing." Yao Na seemed a little nervous, reaching out to grab the hem of her clothes and holding it tightly, as if afraid that Geng Lang would lift her clothes.
Seeing her like this, Geng Lang had an idea. He suddenly picked her up and stood up, then reached out and abruptly lifted her clothes.
