Chi Xia entered the room, came to his side, glanced at the closed laptop, and got straight to the point: "A-Che, I want to talk to you."
Upon hearing this, Han Junche's expression shifted.
He stood up, took two steps, closed and locked the door, then turned back to sit at the foot of the bed, looked at her and said, "What do you want to talk to me about?"
Chi Xia came to the bedside, sat down next to him, and domineeringly took his left hand that was resting on the bedside, playing with it in her hand: "Let's talk about your relationship with the Jia family father and daughter. Jia Jing came to see me early this morning."
Han Junche froze, and the fingers she was playing with suddenly curled into fists.
He looked at her, his dark eyes unfathomable: "What did she say to you?"
"He didn't say anything." Chi Xia pried open his clenched fist with dissatisfaction, then continued to play with his well-defined fingers, and said lightly, "He just told me about your relationship with the Jia family, that you owe them two lives, and then told me to leave Thunder Base."
Upon hearing this, Han Junche's hand began to clench into a fist again.
Chi Xia reacted quickly and grabbed him. She looked up at him and pouted in dissatisfaction: "What? Let me play with you."
Han Junche's dark eyes were now incredibly deep, and the blood in his body began to burn and boil because of her words about leaving.
He forced himself to calm down, relaxed his body, and asked in as calm a tone as possible, "What did you answer her?"
Chi Xia didn't notice his unusual behavior, assuming he was just a little nervous about her answer. She smiled at him and said, "Don't be nervous. Do you think I'm that obedient? If she tells me to leave, I'll just leave. Wouldn't that make me lose face? Besides, even if I were to leave, I'd have to take you with me!"
Han Junche looked at her intently: "You'd better be telling the truth."
“Of course it’s true.” Chi Xia lowered her head and continued to play with his fingers. His skin was very good, and his fingers were long and slender with distinct knuckles. She was almost reluctant to put them down. “I’m not here to discuss this with you. I want to ask what your attitude is towards what Jia Jing said about you carrying the weight of two lives taken by the Jia family.”
Chi Xia looked up at him: "Do you feel like you owe them two lives?"
Han Junche did not answer; he simply stared at her with a deep gaze and his thin lips pressed tightly together.
Then Chi Xia understood.
She could understand Han Junche's thoughts. Putting herself in his shoes, if a man who deeply loved her died for her and even implicated his mother, she thought that even if she couldn't be moved, she would still feel responsible.
Chi Xia frowned; this matter was indeed a bit tricky.
She gathered her thoughts and said to him, "You should be able to tell that Jia Jing and I can no longer tolerate each other. I won't force you to make a choice, but there are some things I need to make clear to you."
Upon hearing the word "choose," Han Junche's dark eyes deepened, and he asked in a low, hoarse voice, "What do you want to say?"
Chi Xia released his hand, took his arm, and leaned gently on his shoulder: "Ache, I pushed you into the zombie horde because I know that you are immune to the zombie virus, and that your dual abilities will be activated when you are extremely sad or surrounded by zombies."
"So, you're doing this for my own good?"
Han Junche looked down at her. There were already enough mysteries surrounding her, and he no longer wanted to ask how she knew he would activate dual-elemental abilities, such a mysterious thing.
