Chi Xia was furious.
For the first time, I had the urge to beat Mengmeng up.
She asked it to check out the building, and it scouted the entire building. She asked it to lure a wave of zombies, and it lured all the zombies upstairs.
The first two times, it could be said that Chi Xia hadn't explained things clearly to it, but the third time, she explained it so clearly, only telling it to find the mutated superpowered zombies, but instead, it alerted the mutated superpowered zombies and led them this way.
Then what was the point of all that hard work they did, hiding and fleeing to avoid alerting the zombies?!
That's such a brat!
Chi Xia was so angry that she grabbed its two front paws, lifted it up, and poked its little head with a finger: "You! You did this on purpose, didn't you?"
However, Mengmeng had no idea what she had done wrong, and looked at her with an innocent little face.
"Alright, now is not the time to talk about this."
Han Junche reached out and took Mengmeng from him, holding her in his arms.
He gently patted Mengmeng's head, then said to Chi Xia, "We now have two options. The first option is to quickly kill that mutated zombie before the zombies from other floors come up. That way, the remaining zombies will be without a leader, and it will be easy for us to get out. The second option is to evacuate immediately."
Both paths have their risks and benefits.
The second option is obvious; given their current abilities, the three of them should be able to escape from here and protect themselves without any problem.
The problem is that this means they not only returned empty-handed, but also alerted the enemy.
Putting aside the fact that so much effort was wasted and nothing was gained in the end, resulting in a humiliating and fruitless return, the consequences would be unimaginable if this mutated zombie with superpowers escaped from Z City.
At the very least, it will cause damage to nearby bases or survivors without superpowers.
However, choosing the first path would be much riskier.
If they couldn't kill the mutated super-powered zombie in such a short time, the three of them might never be able to leave the building again.
They didn't have much time to hesitate.
Chun-Li was the first to speak up: "As a team member, I will listen to the captain."
Chi Xia looked at Han Junche with eyes full of trust and reliance, and said, "I'll listen to you."
Han Junche looked into her eyes and made a decision.
He put Mengmeng down and said to her, "I'm giving you a chance to redeem yourself. Take us to find that mutated superpowered zombie right now."
All the zombies surged towards the 13th floor, and the unconscious sounds they made and the noises they made shook the entire building.
Mengmeng knew she had caused trouble, so she let out a howl at them and immediately ran ahead.
Han Junche, Chi Xia, and Chunli quickly chased after them.
As we passed the escalator in the middle, zombies from the 12th floor were already surging up from the elevator.
Chunli drew her short stick, flicked it lightly to turn it into a club, and took the lead to block the stairwell. Then she said to Chi Xia and Han Junche, "You two go first, I'll cover the rear!"
Chi Xia glanced at the situation, immediately turned around, and said to Han Junche, "You and Mengmeng go and deal with that mutated zombie with superpowers. I'll block the emergency stairwell and cover your retreat with Chunli."
Fearing he might worry, Chi Xia added, "Don't worry, the rest are just ordinary zombies, and the entrance is only so big. Dealing with them is a piece of cake for me. I can burn them to death with just a little fire."
