Chapter 7 The Gentle and Handsome Second Senior Brother

Si Jinyan found a small hotel and booked a new room. It was a relatively remote place, so the Jiang family probably wouldn't come looking for him again.

After taking a shower, I lay in bed scrolling through my phone when a red dot appeared on WeChat: "mimanchi" had accepted my friend request.

Si Jinyan immediately turned over and sat up, her eyes filled with boundless joy.

She tapped the profile picture with her slender finger and looked at the person's Moments; it was a group photo.

The accompanying text reads: "Wishing the filming of 'The Origin of Mortal Life' auspicious start."

She spotted the man standing in the back row at a glance, and tears welled up in her eyes instantly.

"It's my second senior brother."

She immediately exited her WeChat Moments and sent a message.

[Second Brother Pig?]

One minute, two minutes...

Si Jinyan's joy suddenly plummeted. Did her second senior brother not remember her?

It's been so many years since I last saw her, it's normal that I don't remember her.

Her insistence on returning to the Jiang family must have hurt them deeply.

But she still hoped that her four senior brothers could forgive her. Seeing that her second senior brother hadn't replied for a long time, she typed a message with trembling fingers.

I'm sorry, Second Senior Brother.

Five minutes later, a voice came from the other end.

I have never blamed you.

Upon seeing this sentence, Si Jinyan's emotions, which had been suppressed for many years, suddenly erupted. She curled up on the bed and wailed loudly.

Images from my childhood kept flashing through my mind; my second senior brother was a gentle person to the core.

She was eight years younger than her second senior brother. When she was five, her senior brother was in junior high school.

When she was little, she was very mischievous and playful. She would go up the mountain to catch birds, go down to the river to catch shrimp, and climb trees to steal bird eggs. She was agile from a young age.

Every time he returned late, the second senior brother would be scolded by the eldest senior brother.

The second senior brother would always smile and pat her head, saying, "As long as junior sister is happy, second senior brother will do his homework first."

She had a great time, and every night after she went to sleep, her second senior brother would do his homework until midnight.

Once, she climbed a tree to steal bird eggs, but accidentally fell off the tree and landed in a muddy field below.

Covered in mud from head to toe, the second senior brother was scolded mercilessly by the eldest senior brother, but he didn't say a word and obediently stood in the corner as punishment.

She was given a bath and changed clothes by a village auntie hired by her master, and quietly accompanied her second senior brother as he was punished.

"Don't be afraid, your second senior brother is here." He always gently stroked her head and said this.

In her memory, her second senior brother had never lost his temper in front of her. Sometimes she wondered if he was a saint.

As Si Jinyan burst into tears, a video call came in from the other end.

"Junior Sister?" It was Second Senior Brother Si Zhuoxi calling.

Before Si Jinyan could even wipe away his tears, he grinned and called out "Second Senior Brother," with a bubble coming out of his nose, looking rather silly.

"I knew I was crying if you didn't reply for so long." Si Zhuoxi had a gentle smile on his handsome face, with deep and three-dimensional features and clear and smooth facial lines.

His deep eyes shone with starlight, and he was always so gentle, illuminating Si Jinyan's barren heart like the sun.

"Second Senior Brother, are you really not blaming me?" Si Jinyan wiped away his tears, his wet eyes looking at Si Zhuoxi on the other end of the phone.

“It’s not your fault, it’s the Jiang family’s fault. I’ve never blamed you,” Si Zhuoxi said again.

"Zhuoxi, what are you doing? Hurry up and come over!" A woman's voice came from the other end of the phone.

Upon hearing this, Si Zhuoxi said to Si Jinyan, "Don't cry, I'll come to see you tomorrow."

"Okay." Si Jinyan nodded with a bright smile.

After hanging up the phone, Si Jinyan saved his second senior brother's contact as "That woman's voice just now?"

Could it be that my second senior brother lives with a woman?

I never expected that after so many years, my second senior brother would be starting a family. Not bad at all.

Si Jinyan looked at her phone with delight. Her second senior brother had just said he would come to see her tomorrow.

She thought she saw her second senior brother filming a movie; he must be an actor.

Am I being too busy?

Since she's alright anyway, why don't she go find her second senior brother herself?

"Second Brother, I'll come find you tomorrow. I'm free anyway."

A message came from the other side half an hour later.

【Alright, I'll be filming at Jialan Film City tomorrow, I'll be there all day. Let me know when you get there, and I'll have someone pick you up】

After receiving Si Zhuoxi's reply, Si Jinyan went to sleep with his phone in his hand.

Now she was no longer alone; there was another acquaintance in the city, and her heart was suddenly filled with an indescribable sense of happiness.

Si Jinyan got up early in the morning, read for a while, and then started washing up.

Today she's wearing a light blue tulle dress, which looks incredibly elegant.

It made her fair skin seem to glow, and a delicate sachet was tied around her waist; this was the Qiankun Bag.

Today, instead of using a hairpin to style her hair, she curled her long hair and created a small wave style.

Overall, she looks both innocent and sophisticated (a mature woman). Sophistication comes from her appearance and temperament, while innocence comes from her overall style.

After getting ready, she took the elevator to the hotel lobby and told the front desk she was checking out.

When the receptionist saw her come down, she immediately said to her, "A lot of reporters have come outside, saying they want to interview you."

Si Jinyan was somewhat surprised, pointed to himself, and asked, "Interview me?"

The receptionist nodded to confirm it was true, then gestured towards the door with her chin, "Look, at the entrance, the manager is dealing with that. He's blocked the door; he's determined to interview you."

For the first time, Si Jinyan understood what it meant to fear becoming famous, just as a pig fears growing fat. She looked at the reporters who had gathered around the glass door.

A thin line of black hair slid down his forehead, and the corner of his mouth twitched involuntarily.

All she wanted to do today was meet her second senior brother; she had no desire to get involved in anything else.

She really wanted to teleport away, but with so many cameras pointed at her outside, if she pretended to disappear on the spot, she would likely be watched by the entire nation.

It could also attract the interest of some researchers, who might even want to take her to the lab and dissect her.

It's terrifying to even think about.

It's better to go out openly and honestly.

"It's her, it's her." As soon as Si Jinyan appeared at the door, a group of reporters surrounded her.

The manager smiled awkwardly, "Ms. Si, I'm sorry to bother you, but I really couldn't stop you."

The guests felt really bad that they were being harassed by these reporters so early in the morning after checking into their hotel.

Si Jinyan shook his head and replied with a smile, "Manager, you're too kind. I'm the one who caused the hotel inconvenience."

Causing trouble for others is not in Si Jinyan's habit; she'd rather face it herself.

The manager looked at her gratefully and then returned to the hotel.

It's much better for the person involved to come forward than for an outsider like him to do so.
