Chapter 17: Shared Friendships

She doesn't mind others troubling her; the more she helps others, the deeper the friendship becomes.

“My advice to you is to be careful with lending money.” Sun Lifang turned her head slightly to look at the man next to Lu Hua. “You two know about each loan, right?”

Lu Hua was taken aback. Her family now owned more than a dozen chain supermarkets, with a constant cash flow. The couple trusted each other and didn't usually ask where the money went.

Why would you remind me of this?

Lu Hua couldn't sit still any longer; she could tell that Sun Lifang wasn't lying.

Sun Lifang was about to speak when the man next to Lu Hua interrupted, "Alright, alright, what's the big deal? I trust my wife."

The atmosphere became lively again. Lu Hua and his wife had a good relationship. The man was known to be henpecked, handing over all his bank cards to his wife, and even the house was registered solely in Lu Hua's name.

What's there to doubt about a man like that?

Sun Lifang didn't elaborate: "I guess you're planning to go to the bank tomorrow, but the divination advised you not to."

"How...how did you know?" Lu Hua hadn't even told her husband about this; only she knew.

Lu Hua's best friend from college, Kong Xiang, asked her to borrow money to open a shop. Because Kong Xiang looked down on her boyfriend, who is now her husband, and often complained about him, which her husband overheard, their relationship was very bad. So, Lu Hua didn't tell anyone about this loan.

Lu Hua appeared calm, but was actually extremely anxious. He immediately pulled Sun Lifang to a corner and asked, "Sister-in-law, are you really good at fortune telling?"

With her husband beside her, Lu Hua opened up about the matter.

Kong Xiang and Lu Hua were best friends in college. Kong Xiang's family was wealthy, and she often helped Lu Hua out of poverty.

When Lu Hua was sick, Kong Xiang carried her to the hospital. When Lu Hua didn't know how to dress up, Kong Xiang taught her how to do makeup and buy clothes.

The friendship we share, laughing and joking together, is just as strong as romantic love.

But later, after graduating, Kong Xiang returned to her hometown to take the civil service exam, and they gradually lost contact. Over the years, she grew up and interacted with people from all walks of life, making many friends. But in her heart, no one could ever be like Kong Xiang, with whom she could laugh and joke freely without masks. That youthful time was gone forever.

So when Kong Xiang called some time ago to say she was moving back to Haicheng and that they could see each other more often, Lu Hua was overjoyed.

When Lu Hua shared this news with his other old friends, they were all surprised and asked, "Hasn't Kong Xiang always been in Haicheng?"

Everyone knows that Kong Xiang married a doctor, and some people even sent her a group photo of her and her friends at her wedding.

That night, Lu Hua couldn't sleep.

She couldn't understand why Kong Xiang had lied to her.
