Chapter 173 Visiting the Old House

They said they wanted to come back and buy a villa, but Sun Lifang didn't expect Zhou Yunshi to make arrangements so quickly.

According to Sun Lifang's plan, they would first visit a few properties to see the architectural style before sitting down to talk with the property management. The whole process would take about a week.

But to my surprise, they had already made a decision.

Driving a black vintage car with round, adorable headlights, Zhou Yunshi had apparently borrowed it from somewhere.

It attracts attention as soon as it's parked downstairs.

Especially the gaze of children—

Zhou Xinya circled the car twice, her excitement evident.

"Daddy, I want to take a picture!"

Standing in front of the vintage car, Zhou Xinya lifted her skirt with both hands, struck a dancing pose, and waited for Zhou Yunshi to take her picture.

Unfortunately, my family never owned a camera.

Sun Lifang watched as her daughter stood on one leg, arms outstretched—

If you can't stand still, jump twice in front, then twice behind, swaying left and right and jumping in a crisscross pattern. It's so much fun!

"I'll go borrow a camera." Zhou Yunshi was about to go to Mrs. Tong's house to borrow a camera in order to fulfill his daughter's request, but Sun Lifang stopped him.

"Let's go look at the houses first, and then take pictures at a nicer spot there."

The environment of the old villa must be very beautiful, surrounded by greenery, with tall buildings and courtyards, and the colors of the plants outside changing with the seasons.

That's how Sun Lifang convinced her daughter.

An old house paired with a vintage car would make for a better photo.

What's more, most property management companies have cameras these days. We can just borrow one, take a quick picture, and send it to the printing shop without having to make another trip.

With that thought in mind, Sun Lifang sat in the back and watched Zhou Yunshi drive.

"Da da da da—"

The classic car starts a little slower than a normal car, but the seats inside are a little better than those in a normal car.

The seat base is angled upwards and backwards, which makes Sun Lifang's back much more comfortable when she sits down.

I must say, the quality of this old German-made car is quite good. The ride was very smooth, and I didn't feel dizzy at all with the windows open.

Thinking about it, Sun Lifang told Zhou Yunshi her idea, but he denied it.

"Really? Why don't you say it's because I drive well?"

Praise, praise.

"It's time to praise him," Sun Lifang said with a slight smile. "That's true, you drive better, honey."

It's a bit against my will, but some people like to listen to it.

These days, opportunities to make money by saying nice things are rare, so cherish them while you can.

Sun Lifang is sweet-talking and sweet-hearted; looking at the large diamond ring on her hand, she felt even happier.

She kept looking at her fingers, and Zhou Xinya noticed—

"Mom, where did you get this ring?"

The implication of this statement is, "How come I didn't know?"

Sun Lifang said "Yes" and pointed to the person driving in front, "Your father gave it to me."

The red diamond did indeed sparkle in the sunlight, like a beating heart.

"You get what you pay for."

No woman dislikes jewelry. Sun Lifang raised her hand, looking up at the sunlight streaming through the car window, admiring and remarking—

"Sure enough, when buying expensive things, the only time you feel the pain is at the moment of payment; all the time afterward is joyful~"

Conversely, if you buy a cheap alternative, you're only happy to pay for it. But then, whenever you think about how there are better alternatives, you'll feel uneasy.

Now that Sun Lifang has received the best, of course she is happy.

A dejected voice came from beside her, "Ah~, I don't have any."

"Dad, you're being unfair. You only bought Mom a gift when you came back from your business trip."

Zhou Xinya complained, but her expression showed no concern whatsoever.

In the past, when Zhou Yunshi returned from business trips, he rarely brought her any gifts.

Sun Lifang was still laughing, but thinking about it now, it makes sense—

Kids always want their parents to bring them something when they come back.

A pen, an eraser, or even a little food is better than nothing.

“Honey, that’s Mommy’s wedding ring.” Zhou Yunshi’s voice came from the front, with a hint of a smile. “I can buy you a ring, but it will have a different meaning.”

"Wedding ring?" Zhou Xinya looked at the identical rings on her parents' hands with envy. "When will I have a wedding ring too?"

Sun Lifang replied, "Then you have to get married first."

"Otherwise, no one will give you a wedding ring."

With a hint of smug provocation, Sun Lifang showed off to her daughter, "Isn't it beautiful?"

Sun Lifang does not recommend buying expensive jewelry for children.

Besides the fear of losing it, another reason is the fear of being targeted.

Adults have a sense of self-preservation; for a small child to take such valuable things out is exactly what the old saying goes—

A child was seen carrying gold through the city.

It's a disaster.

So even though she planned to "raise her daughter in luxury," Sun Lifang told her daughter, "I'll buy you valuable items like gold and silver jewelry when you grow up."

Sun Lifang doesn't want her daughter, who is so young, to be comparing herself to others or flaunting her wealth; that's unacceptable.

So she promised her daughter, "I will definitely buy it for you when you grow up, but not now. That kind of thing is for adults."

Children don't need that; all they need is to be well-fed, warmly clothed, and happy while studying.

Now is not the time to compare jewelry with others.

After talking at length, covering everything from danger to fashion style, Sun Lifang's throat was dry, but seeing her daughter's two glistening water droplets looking at her, she asked earnestly—

"What if someone gave it to me?"

Give it to you? You wish!

Sun Lifang hadn't considered this possibility, but after thinking about it for a while, she realized that her daughter might be referring to what she would be like when she grew up.
