Chapter 202 I Don't Want to Be Friends with You

As the drinks were winding down and the shop was preparing to close, Yoshiko Takeuchi had already fallen asleep, leaning against her side.

When the waiter came over, Sun Lifang asked him to wait a moment.

Yoshiko Takeuchi wasn't asleep; she just didn't want to open her eyes.

In the quiet understanding, Sun Lifang watched her silently, waiting to see when she would get up.

It won't take long, for a strong woman like Yoshiko Takeuchi—

She would never cause trouble for others.

Perhaps due to the extremely strict etiquette requirements of the island nation, Sun Lifang sometimes felt that she was too polite.

An almost obsessive pursuit of perfection.

Sitting in silence, listening to the classical music playing intermittently in the teahouse, and with the refreshing and calming incense in the air, Sun Lifang yawned.

This is such a perfect place to sleep.

Zhou Yunshi isn't going home today, so Sun Lifang called home beforehand to ask Jiang Meimei to wait a little longer, or—

"You can sleep at home tonight."

Since Zhou Yunshi went to a neighboring city to "enjoy the scenery and discuss business," Li Zhi wouldn't be home either.

Without Li Zhi, who would pick Jiang Meimei up from get off work?

Considering that it would be unsafe and troublesome to go back at night, Sun Lifang suggested that she sleep with Zhou Xinya for the night.

"There are blankets in the closet, take them out and sleep in them yourself."

"If you share a blanket with someone, you'll be freezing awake at night."

Based on experience, Zhou Xinya likes to share a blanket with someone when the weather gets cold.

They deliberately sneak into other people's warm beds, and then they sleep in bad positions, so when they get up in the middle of the night, half of their body is always outside in the cold.

It's easy to catch a cold or fever this season, but Zhou Xinya is healthy and nothing happened to her.

After we changed to a 2-meter-long cotton quilt, I stopped feeling cold, but I still liked to pull on the quilt.

Roll it up on the left, then turn it around and pull it down—

The blanket just slipped off my body.

Sun Lifang had learned her lesson from this before, so she resolutely refused to sleep in the same bed with her.

"Just you wait, all that hard work warming her bed will only result in her catching a cold by morning," Sun Lifang instructed Jiang Meimei, making sure she slept in her own bed.

But Jiang Meimei didn't believe it and said nonchalantly, "Children have a lot of energy. If we sleep together, she should be the one warming the bed."

Jiang Meimei not only didn't believe it, but also praised Zhou Xinya for being well-behaved.

"Knowing I was going to sleep at home, they prepared water for me to wash my feet and filled my hot water bottle."

"I told her not to do it, but she wouldn't listen. She put her feet in the water while wearing only a white thermal undershirt—"

"I told her her long johns were soaked, but she wouldn't listen and went to make me formula again."

Listening to Jiang Meimei's description, Sun Lifang could already picture a little girl in a white thermal underwear bustling around, trying her best to keep people coming back.

Although Jiang Meimei is in her early twenties, she still has the mentality of a child.

When playing with Zhou Xinya, it's like being her older sister, joining in her crazy antics.

Sun Lifang admitted that she couldn't do that.

Full of energy, they laughed out loud at the cartoon, and then the two of them argued heatedly about the characters and asked Sun Lifang to mediate.

Oh my god, Jiang Meimei must be her other daughter.

It brings so much joy to this family.

"Alright, alright, I know. We don't sleep together every day. I'll sleep in the same bed with Yaya tonight." Jiang Meimei was determined to sacrifice herself for "friendship".

"Then go to sleep," Sun Lifang said, both amused and exasperated.

Two cobblers, always bickering and laughing.

When things are good, they're willing to hug each other; when things are bad, they won't even look at each other.

After dealing with "conflicts" for a long time, Sun Lifang has also learned to be a master of balancing things.

"Neither of you is any good, so neither of you should criticize the other!"

Impartial and unbiased, without expressing one's own opinions.

Of course, publishing it won't help—

A few minutes later, the two sisters were inseparable again.

So just take Jiang Meimei's complaints about Zhou Xinya getting her long johns wet with a grain of salt.

If you take it seriously, you've already lost; whoever criticizes you will feel the pain.

"Go to sleep. I'll be at the teahouse downstairs. I'll be back later."

There's a row of shops just ten meters or so from the apartment complex, and the teahouse is practically downstairs.

After chatting for a few more minutes and hanging up the phone, Sun Lifang realized that Takeuchi Yoshiko had already opened her eyes.

He propped his head up with his right hand, looking at her with drunken eyes.

"very nice."

After saying this seemingly abruptly, the woman smiled faintly and said, "I'm awake."

"Really awake?" Sun Lifang asked meaningfully.

"Really." The woman had a full forehead and looked intelligent. After standing up, she straightened her cuffs and said, "Let's go, I'll take you home."

As she walked out of the teahouse, Yoshiko Takeuchi walked slowly with her hands behind her back.

The streets at night have a special feel to them; they're quiet and deserted.

It was in this tranquil setting that the woman suddenly called out Sun Lifang's name.

"Hmm?" Sun Lifang stopped, turned around, and looked up at her. "Just say what you want to say. I'm not going to tell anyone."

He paused, his tone becoming suspicious—

"Wait a minute, do you have other best friends?"

"Besides me, who else can you talk to?"

Using a joking tone to lighten the mood, she made Yoshiko Takeuchi shake her head and chuckle.

"You—"

It seems there's no one else I can talk to besides you.

Clearing her throat, the woman calmed down and said, "I don't have much to say, I just see the road ahead clearly."

“I used to think that marriage was every woman’s ultimate destination, but now it seems that’s not entirely true.”

"No one can be anyone's savior; I was misled before."

There is no such thing as a prince charming falling from the sky; you can only be your own savior.
