Chapter 46 Abandoned Old House

Sun Lifang: "?"

No matter how she explained, the woman in front of her had an expression that said, "I understand."

"If Beibei didn't have a piano lesson this afternoon, I would have liked to chat with you more." Mrs. Tong glanced at her watch and called inside again, "Beibei, you're going to be late for class."

The door opened, and Beibei stared at her messy, bird's-nest-like hair. Mrs. Tong tidied it for her, saying, "You little rascal, how did you get so dirty?"

His gaze swept over Zhou Xinya's pristine white pantyhose, then back to his daughter's incredibly dark knees. Feigning anger, he coldly reprimanded, "You should learn from your older sister Yaya. If you were even half as clean as her, I'd have an easier time."

Zhou Xinya (who is very clean): "..."

Sun Lifang turned to look at her daughter, and Zhou Xinya gave an awkward smile.

Mrs. Tong and Tong Guichun only have this one daughter, whom they usually spoil rotten. She patted her little bottom lightly twice, picked her up, and said, "We're leaving now. Call me if you need anything."

She was happy to act as a middleman.

.

After a busy noon, Sun Lifang went back to her room for a nap. She is now used to sleeping at this time. If she doesn't nap at noon, it's like half a day is wasted. She feels drowsy and listless.

Even though it was almost four o'clock, Jiang Meimei didn't ask any questions because she saw that she was tired, and sat on the sofa knitting.

Now she can't sleep at night, which is strange. Sun Lifang's sleep schedule is very unstable now, but she is very happy.

Under the guise of going to bed early and waking up early, I went to bed at ten o'clock, but I woke up very early, around two or three in the morning. Then, unable to fall back asleep, I picked up my design drafts and started writing and drawing.

After finishing, she would sleep when she was tired, eat something after waking up, and continue. If it weren't for Zhou Yunshi's interference, she could even go out for a walk.

Leisurely and carefree, with things to do and goals to achieve, Sun Lifang is quite content with her current state.

As for the share value that Milan mentioned, Sun Lifang didn't actually care that much.

She may have been rich in her past life, but did she even have the life to enjoy it?

With tubes inserted and strictly following the doctor's orders, I can't even eat a solid meal; having more money is pointless.

"No need to cook tonight, I'll take Yaya out to eat," Sun Lifang told Jiang Meimei. She had made an appointment with her mentor, Wang Heng, and his family for dinner.

The teacher's wife helped her choose several houses.

Sun Lifang hailed a car, dragged her daughter out, and said, "I'll take a shower when we get back. If you're hungry, have a biscuit to tide you over."

"Okay." Zhou Xinya opened the window to let the wind in.

The summer wind is damp and hot, especially in Haicheng where there are trees everywhere, and there is the unique scent of camphor trees.

Wang Heng lives in the old campus area. He has lived there for so long that he is reluctant to move. In his words, after decades of living together as neighbors, he has developed feelings for the place and would feel lonely if he moved.

What he didn't know was that more than 20 years later, this place had been transformed into office buildings, and the former neighbors had long since scattered and disappeared.

Sun Lifang suddenly felt a little sad. She used to have a good neighbor, but after the demolition, she didn't know where he moved to.

Things have changed, and standing in the old neighborhood, she sees a scene from twenty years later.

Perhaps only when you reach a certain age will you understand what "fate" means and cherish this thing that seemed so ethereal when you were young.

The sight of the scenery evoked sorrow.

As soon as Sun Lifang got out of the taxi, she saw Wang Heng, who was fanning himself with a palm leaf fan and wearing a white undershirt, at the street corner.

Slippers and shorts, comfortable and carefree.

Zhou Xinya screamed excitedly, "Bye-bye!" and ran over. Wang Heng called out "Hey hey hey" a few times, smiling and squinting as he caught her.

The master's house is located at the street corner. There are still many old houses here, and few people have installed air conditioning. Wang Heng's house has a small courtyard with a stone table and benches. A plug is attached to the outside of the courtyard to connect to a fan, and food is placed in the center of the courtyard.

"I'm going out for a bit." Sun Lifang walked out; there was a small shop right outside the door, and she wanted a case of soda.

The deliveryman behind him saw this and rushed out, "Oh, oh, you're too kind. You have everything you need, why are you buying anything?"

Sun Lifang smiled and pushed back the hand he reached out to give her money. She couldn't go to someone's house empty-handed, so she asked the owner to bring over a case of San Miguel beer from the refrigerator.

In 1998, Tony Leung Ka-fai starred in an advertisement that made San Miguel beer a hit across the country. The boss knew Wang Heng and told them to go back first while he went to move the beer.

After leaving, Sun Lifang didn't go straight back. She walked around the street looking at the surroundings. Wang Heng asked her, "What are you looking at? The houses here are too old and don't come with household registration or school places. You should buy a new house instead."

How much is it here?

Wang Heng looked at her with a strange expression. He had already said that these were all self-built houses by farmers and were worthless! The place was old, the streets were old, the buildings were old, and even the people were old. The small shops selling vegetables and daily necessities were all run by elderly men and women.

Young people buying here? Are you kidding me?

"This whole area used to be bright and clean, but now almost half of it is empty." Recalling the past, Wang Heng sighed, "Who would want to live here?"

Locals with some savings have moved to the new town after their children started working, and people from other places won't buy here either. They'd rather spend their spare money to build something back in their hometown.

Buying this old, dilapidated apartment? Are you crazy?

Sun Lifang never expected there to be such a good place. She originally wanted to rent a place for Zhou Dahai to recuperate, but after looking around for a long time, all she saw were elderly people. There wasn't even a sign for sale, let alone a place to rent!

If she said that, people would probably think she was crazy!

Zhou Dahai now lives on a high floor. Not only does he have difficulty walking, but the neighborhood is also full of young people. He called last time to say he missed his granddaughter.

Actually, I just felt lonely and homesick.

Sun Lifang wanted to settle him here, but when Wang Heng pressed her for details, she had no choice but to tell him about her "father-in-law".

He didn't say much, only that he was recuperating.
