The carriage erupted in chaos.
The flight attendants brought the situation under control, and Sun Lifang rushed over with the chief flight attendant. The flight attendants then turned on their walkie-talkies and transported the patient to the next station.
Sun Lifang sensed something was wrong.
She felt the old woman's carotid artery. How could someone lie on the ground with their eyes open and not move at all?
Then she was horrified to discover that the old woman had stopped breathing and had no pulse.
Her mind went blank for a moment, and she stared blankly at the emergency rescue in front of her.
The flight attendant professionally performed CPR and even brought out a disposable oxygen machine. When the flight attendant got tired after doing this for a while, Sun Lifang quickly took over and continued to perform CPR.
Their arms ached from working so hard, and they finally arrived at the station. The station stopped to let them get off first, and Sun Lifang, carrying her bag, went to the hospital with the car.
Despite half an hour of professional hospital resuscitation efforts, the elderly woman could not survive.
The flight attendant contacted her family through the ticket and waited outside the emergency room with her crying child in her arms.
Looking at the old woman's body covered with a white sheet, Sun Lifang was completely stunned. How could this be?
The old lady who was shouting angrily one second was dead the next.
Sun Lifang's fingers were trembling. She didn't know why this was happening.
Since her rebirth, she has begun to embrace her new life and believes that a brand new future is unfolding before her.
But now, someone has died for her? Was he angered to death by her?
Sun Lifang stood blankly outside the door, biting her lip until she almost lost consciousness. She wanted to cry, to cry for a stranger.
The flight attendant also used her ticket to call her family.
Five hours later, at the police station.
Under the glaring lights of the interrogation room, Sun Lifang saw Zhou Yunshi rushing over.
Upon meeting her, he walked over expressionlessly, said nothing, and took her hand in his.
After several hours without a drop of water, Sun Lifang's voice had become hoarse.
"Are you hurt?" the man asked in a low voice.
Sun Lifang sat there, resting her head on Zhou Yunshi's chest, her eyes stinging, unable to speak.
I killed someone.
That person died because of me.
Will I go to jail?
For the first time in her life, Sun Lifang realized that Zhou Yunshi was right; she was indeed timid and afraid of trouble.
The tough facade she had projected in front of others crumbled when Zhou Yunshi asked, "Are you alright?"
Like a child who has been wronged outside, tears welled up in her eyes and she couldn't stop them.
Tears quickly soaked his white shirt, but fortunately Zhou Yunshi was wearing a suit jacket.
"Did she hit you?" Zhou Yunshi examined her wounds, his eyes narrowed, and he was about to stand up.
The woman buried her head, only the top of her dark hair showing, and clung tightly to his clothes like a child.
She looks exactly like Zhou Xinya; they truly are mother and daughter.
Why didn't you tell me you were going back to your hometown?
Zhou Yunshi's tone was displeased. If it weren't for the flight attendant's call, he would have been faced with an empty house when he got home.
We told her not to go out, not even nearby, but she secretly disobeyed and went on a long trip.
Faced with Zhou Yunshi's questioning, Sun Lifang wrapped her arms even tighter around his waist and whispered something.
Zhou Yunshi couldn't hear clearly, "What?"
Even at this point, they're still trying to assign blame. Sun Lifang looked up angrily, "Why are you shouting like that?"
Her voice was hoarse from crying, yet also quite alluring, which Sun Lifang didn't notice; she was very angry at the moment.
Seeing the woman in front of him with red and swollen eyes, even the fiercest attitude softened.
"You shouldn't cry during pregnancy; you should talk things out."
Zhou Yunshi softened his tone and carefully wiped away her tears.
āIām not going to speak properly!ā Sun Lifang said unreasonably.
Zhou Yunshi chuckled, not expecting her to have this domineering and unreasonable side, which was rather endearing.
Just as she was about to argue with Zhou Yunshi, she saw him smile and felt embarrassed.
She realized she was losing control of her emotions, but also felt a strange sense of relief.
At that moment, two men and a woman rushed over aggressively from the end of the corridor.
The man squatted on the ground, sighing repeatedly, while the other man went to find a doctor to find out what was wrong.
The remaining woman wailed, "How could my mother die on the way home? She never got sick, even when she was taking care of the children and doing housework! Tell me, what happened? Tell me!"
The flight attendant glanced discreetly at Sun Lifang and asked, "Does the old lady have some hidden illness that you don't know about?"
The woman cried even louder: "I asked you what happened, what do you mean by this? What 'hidden illness'? I think you're just trying to find an excuse to shirk responsibility and pin the blame on us. Let me tell you, no way! Don't even think about it!"
The police quickly learned what had happened and retrieved the train's surveillance footage, which clearly recorded the argument and shoving between Sun Lifang and the old lady.
Having seen something, Zhou Yunshi looked at Sun Lifang with a displeased expression.
Before she could even speak, the old woman's daughter lunged at her, raising her arm, "You little bitch, go to hell! I'll skin you alive! Just you wait! I won't let you get away with this!"
Zhou Yunshi caught the woman's slap firmly, his expression growing colder as he retorted, "What do you mean by not letting her go?"
The old lady fainted and died on her own; a flight attendant testified to this.
Enraged by Zhou Yunshi, the woman who had been throwing a tantrum jumped up, took a few steps back to steady herself, and shouted at the men beside her, "Are you all dead? I've been bullied like this! Fight back!"
The man opposite them was dressed in a suit and exuded an imposing aura, clearly not an ordinary person. Moreover, there were police nearby, so the two men didn't dare to make a move. Only the woman was throwing a tantrum and screaming wildly.
