Chapter 75 Returning to Haicheng

Sun Lifang was shocked when she saw the train ticket in front of her.

When was it purchased?

Her husband responded by carefully helping his grandmother onto the tractor.

"Grandma, if anyone asks, just do as I say." With that, Zhou Yunshi carried the luggage upstairs.

Sun Lifang, who was still half asleep at noon, was now fully awake.

"What's the meaning?"

"Lifang, come sit down, I'll tell you something." Grandma Sun patted the cushion next to her with a cheerful smile.

"Hurry up and get on. We've already agreed on a 3 PM train. Don't be late."

"good."

Dajuan was nowhere to be seen early in the morning, Tian Daying was still lying in the hospital, and Sun Baoyang's tractor hadn't returned either.

They borrowed the brigade's tractor. Sun Lifang looked ahead and saw Zhou Yunshi chatting with the driver.

He seemed to be particularly good at chatting and could talk to anyone. Before long, the driver in front of him was almost saying that he wanted to take Zhou Yunshi as his godson.

"Grandma, what happened?"

Sun Lifang looked at Grandma Sun in confusion, "You two agreed on this, how come I didn't know?"

"You really married the right person!" Grandma Sun smiled and glared at her. "Don't ask so many questions, Xiao Zhou has already arranged everything."

Arrangements? What arrangements were made?

Grandma Sun, holding the baby, was in a great mood. "Lifang, Xiao Zhou found a friend. He came back to visit his family and happens to have a daughter too."

With a distance of hundreds or thousands of kilometers, if you don't tell me and I don't tell you, who will know whose child it is?

Just say it's his child, and he's coming back to take his daughter to the city.

If the train station wants to check, it's clearly written in their household registration book. Even if they do check, we haven't done anything wrong, so why would they go to our homes to investigate?

"How...how did you find it?"

Sun Lifang looked bewildered. She thought she would have to put in more effort, but her husband had already made arrangements.

"Hey, Lifang, you're so lucky." Grandma Sun chuckled and whispered, "Xiao Zhou isn't one to boast. That's the kind of man who's most reliable."

They got it done quietly and without anyone noticing.

It's so much better than someone who argues with their wife for ages without ever getting anything done.

Grandma Sun, at her age, has a keen eye for people; even the wrinkles around her eyes radiate joy when she smiles now.

"Lifang, you young people have such a good relationship. Your man told me to relax and not to be angry from the beginning."

A little embarrassed by her grandmother's teasing, Sun Lifang changed the subject, "Grandma, is that friend reliable?"

So Zhou Yunshi went out last night to help her find connections, not because he was angry.

Feeling sweet inside, I couldn't help but smile.

"Whether it's reliable or not, we have to try it, don't you think?"

The little baby in Grandma Sun's arms was kicking its legs, a tiny bundle of joy smiling and showing its two little teeth as it babbled.

The baby's sweet voice filled her ears, and she opened her little arms to him.

Sun Lifang took the arm and let her grandmother rest her arms. She smiled back and said calmly, "From today onwards, you have a home."

The baby seemed to understand her words, and its little arms flapped even more joyfully.

Who knows what the future holds? Let's just take it one step at a time.

The fate of the baby girl, who was to be abandoned on the edge of the field, was thus rewritten; she was lucky.

With her worries resolved, Sun Lifang quickly gave Zhou Yunshi a grateful look as he turned around.

The man's dark eyes deepened, but he turned away without saying anything.

Watching her husband's retreating figure, Sun Lifang played with the baby, but her mind was elsewhere.

To cover up one lie, you have to use countless lies, big and small, to conceal it.

What should we do next?

Sun Lifang's original plan was to find someone to take her there, preferably someone willing to work as a nanny. She thought she could find someone eventually by paying them.

The couple shared the same idea, but Zhou Yunshi found someone first and arranged things properly.

Because I was reborn, many things changed.

But what about Zhou Yunshi?

Sun Lifang suddenly couldn't understand her husband anymore.

She felt both fearful and embarrassed amidst her grandmother's endless praise.

Because she hasn't learned to accept genuine affection yet.

What if Zhou Yunshi really likes me?

Sun Lifang always felt that she was following the rules step by step.

Like most people, they follow the crowd and age trends, with the timing of when to go to school, fall in love, and get married all predetermined.

What she received far exceeded her expectations.

No, that's impossible.

Faced with an answer that was about to be revealed, Sun Lifang shook her head and cleared her mind.

She believes in love, but she doesn't believe that love will happen to her.

Most people live perfectly well without ever having love in their lives, don't they?

The current task, in particular, constantly demonstrates the terrifying nature of "love-struck" individuals.

If she were reborn before meeting Zhou Yunshi, she definitely wouldn't have gotten married.

Fear of marriage and childbirth made Sun Lifang instantly understand her daughter Zhou Xinya's "anti-marriage stance."

She has no choice right now.

"What will we do when we get to Haicheng?" Sun Lifang looked at Grandma Sun with concern.

She's used to controlling how things go, and now that she's handed it over to someone else, she can't rest easy.

"Don't worry, don't you trust your own man?" Grandma Sun happily handed over the steamed bun.

"Eat up, it was steamed fresh this morning."

As she gets older, Grandma Sun needs less sleep, so she gets up before dawn.

Even though her granddaughter's explanation was very reasonable, she was still uneasy. What if adopting a child unwillingly caused conflict between the young couple...?
