The Q&A session has ended.
Yoshiko Takeuchi tried her best to calm herself down.
The interview host noticed her emotional fluctuations and, demonstrating professionalism, temporarily changed the subject to salvage the situation.
"Ms. Miko is 32 years old this year. She has a happy family and a successful career. I'm sure everyone is curious about how you balance family and work?"
After saying that, the camera zoomed in.
Yoshiko Takeuchi suffers from severe lumbar muscle strain due to years of working overtime, and the host wanted to use this to steer the conversation back to her new book.
Everyone present was a fan of Miko, and countless eyes were fixed on her.
How did she do it? She achieved financial freedom and has a happy family at only 32 years old?
This kind of question fits the tone of the program perfectly.
Even though everyone knew they couldn't possibly succeed like Yoshiko Takeuchi, they still wanted to hear about the "academic superstar's" experience and learn from her.
In the past, at times like this, Yoshiko Takeuchi could share some inspirational quotes and receive a standing ovation.
But today, she concealed the emotions in her eyes.
The conversation continued, and Miko smiled, "I'm quite lucky. I grew up surrounded by literature, so for me, work is life, and there's no need to balance the two."
"Oh? So your husband won't be jealous?" the host joked, trying to lighten the mood. "Miko, you're not a good wife."
"My husband is busier than me, does that mean he's not a good husband?"
Feeling uncomfortable, Yoshiko Takeuchi retorted bluntly, "Why do you ask me how to balance family and work, instead of asking men?"
Are you being sexist?
Sensing something was amiss, Yoshiko Takeuchi casually replied in a joking tone.
Anyone can say polite words.
We're all cunning foxes, so who's trying to outsmart whom?
The interview ended amidst the host's constant flattery.
The host noticed Yoshiko Takeuchi's displeasure and offered her tea as an apology, saying, "I'm sorry, I really didn't mean anything by it. I've asked the same question before..."
Interviews with women in China invariably involve their families.
Yoshiko Takeuchi nodded, stood up gracefully, and waved her hand, "That's all for you, go on."
Given her status, there's no need for her to put on a smiling face and say it's okay, nor is it necessary for her to waste time having tea with strangers.
After all, her time is precious.
Judging by the magazine's sales, every word she writes could be turned into money; she should use that time to write more articles.
Time is more valuable than money.
The only people she can spend time with are her family.
Thinking of this, Yoshiko Takeuchi walked towards the audience exit.
"Sister Meizi, wait a minute."
The magazine photographer ran over and handed him the trench coat. "You don't look too well. Is the air conditioning too low?"
Yoshiko Takeuchi is in poor health, so she usually wears thick clothes.
"Thanks."
Yoshiko Takeuchi took a step back, put on a black trench coat, and quickened her pace in her boots.
She's going to find someone.
"Sister Meizi, where are you going without your car keys?" The boy magically produced car keys. "I'll give you a ride."
As he spoke, he took her hand.
"Xing Hui," the woman said coldly as she looked back, "you've overstepped your bounds."
He then pulled his hand back, saying, "If you do it again, you're going back."
The man called Xing Hui wasn't annoyed at all. He warmed her hands and said, "Where are you going? If you want to go back, just tell my dad."
Xing Hui's father is a business partner in the company.
After her father passed away at a young age, Yoshiko Takeuchi took over the family business right after graduation. When she was still a "management newbie," Uncle Xing gave her a lot of help.
They were also the biggest force that defied public opinion and supported her rise to power.
Therefore, Yoshiko Takeuchi greatly respects Xing Hui's father.
As a close friend of his father, their two families have always had a good relationship.
Xing Hui is not included in this.
Yoshiko Takeuchi dislikes him.
This little brother started clinging to her when she was in junior high school.
What's more, this person is also a fool, completely oblivious to social cues, and always living in his own world.
"Why are your hands so cold? I know a doctor—"
The sunny, cheerful young man continued talking to himself.
Suddenly, "None of your business!"
Yoshiko Takeuchi swept her long leg across, kicking him in the back of the knee.
"Where are you going? I'll take you!" Xing Hui was still unwilling to give up.
Yoshiko Takeuchi turned and left in a huff.
Her knuckles, gripping the car keys, were white and blue, and her fingertips were cold, but not as cold as her heart.
The girl who asked the question was wearing her father's collection around her neck.
The black and white nine-eyed dzi bead, with the small jade beads next to it strung on by hand.
Old objects may not be valuable, but they embody the love of parents.
The dzi beads were chosen by her father, and the yellow cords were made by her mother herself. When she was little, she deliberately wanted to string jade beads on them.
No one else would match her so well; she would be completely out of place. It was only because her father spoiled her and let her do whatever she wanted.
The crystal-clear, round jade beads exude a simple and gentle light, with yellow beads paired with black and white dzi beads.
She won't admit she's wrong! It's the one she lost!
Aside from work, Yoshiko Takeuchi is a complete idiot when it comes to life. She is often forgetful and has countless collections at home, so she rarely cares about losing anything.
But those were my father's belongings!
After discovering the loss, she mobilized all the servants in the family to conduct a thorough search, but they were unable to find it.
How did it end up in her hands?
Could it be that the necklace came to life and traveled across the ocean?
She decided to find the answer herself.
