Chapter 9 Bizarre Conditions

Xiuchun knew her son was angry, and with the man's persuasion, she suppressed her anger and sat down.

His son is handsome and smart, and he's a college student. He's sure to have a bright future. What's wrong with him?

Of course, she still had to maintain a certain air in front of outsiders, and any offensive remarks were made by her relatives.

At this moment, Sun Lifang brought her daughter in, and the group immediately stopped their "discussion".

"Where's Liu Chang? Why isn't she better yet?"

After they had eaten and drunk their fill, the relatives leaned back in their chairs and urged her, "Quickly make a phone call and ask her; we have something to tell her."

Sun Lifang: "You can tell me anything. My sister went to pick someone up."

Upon hearing this, Song Chao visibly stiffened for a moment, then immediately stood up and anxiously asked, "Aren't they all here? Who are you picking up? I'm with her!"

Sun Lifang ignored him and turned to ask the group of relatives with a smile, "Are you full? Do you want to order some more?"

Being ignored only fueled Song Chao's anger, and he stormed out the door.

He left behind a group of relatives and friends.

Sun Lifang knew, of course, what Song Chao was afraid of.

But it was too late. The next second, Sun Lifang's mobile phone rang.

Sun Lifang replied, "Yes, it's on the third floor. Just around the corner. I'll come out to meet you."

Meanwhile, Song Chao finally found Liu Chang downstairs who was buying drinks, only to discover that he had been tricked. He angrily went upstairs to demand an explanation.

Sun Lifang welcomed Liu Chang's parents into the house; she had already given them a heads-up yesterday.

Song Chao's parents were stunned for a moment, unsure of what to say.

On the other end, under Sun Lifang's guidance yesterday, Liu Chang's mother enthusiastically asked, "Is this Sister Song Chao?"

After receiving a negative review, she exaggeratedly praised, "My mother-in-law looks so young, and she looks so energetic in this red dress."

"No, we're exposed to the wind and sun..."

When Song Chao pushed open the door, this was the scene of joy and harmony he witnessed.

I was completely dumbfounded.

"This must be Song Chao, right? He's really handsome."

As if kind words were worthless, Liu Chang watched as his mother showered Song Chao's parents with compliments, making them feel quite flattered.

"Liu Chang is also outstanding; they are a match made in heaven."

"you do not say!"

The two argued back and forth for a while before Xiuchun steered the conversation toward her son: "It's all Song Chao's fault. He insisted that I come to Haicheng to see their wedding, saying that we'd be family afterward. And family doesn't need to be so formal. I'll be frank: we can't afford the bride price."

The words had barely left her lips when Liu Chang's face turned ashen. She hadn't expected to have this unspoken truth revealed so directly, especially since Song Chao had made a promise...

Xiuchun continued, "The children have a good relationship and insist on getting married. Liu Chang is also a filial girl; she picked us up and arranged the hotel for us. She's such a good girl."

Her words implied that she was showing off her son's excellence, as if Liu Chang was determined to marry Song Chao.

Liu Chang's parents' faces clearly turned cold. Seeing this, Song Chao seized the opportunity, knelt down on one knee, produced a ring from somewhere, and said to Liu Chang, "Baby, I swear I will treat you well, marry me!"

The gold ring shone brightly under the lights. Liu Chang looked at him and asked, touched, "When did you prepare this? Didn't you say you were short of funds?"

Instead of answering, Song Chao asked, "Baby, do you believe me?"

"I believe you." Liu Chang was overwhelmed with joy, all her previous doubts vanished: "Let's be brave and face the future together."

"Baby, you are so good."

Song Chao, holding Liu Chang's hand, knelt down and begged his parents, "We're serious, please give us the household registration book."

"no!"

It was Sun Lifang who spoke up. She rushed between them, grabbed Liu Chang's hand, and said to her, "You'll regret this later. Calm down and think about it. Why was he in such a hurry? Haven't you thought about that?"

"Are you crazy?" Song Chao snapped. "Even as an older sister, you don't have the right to interfere in your younger sister's feelings, do you?"

Sun Lifang couldn't hold back; she wasn't good at arguing.

"For the house, for the house," Sun Lifang muttered to herself, then turned and smashed the cup, an action that successfully shocked Song Chao.

"You just see Liu Chang as a cash cow, don't you? What are you pretending for?"

"Since that's the case, we won't pretend anymore." Sun Lifang sighed. "You know Liu Chang can't have children, right?"

"She can't have children?"

Before Song Chao could react, Xiu Chun jumped up and down, cursing and shouting, "My goodness! So Liu Chang didn't say anything before because she wanted to marry my son? She's so cunning, trying to cling to my family."

“No way, we don’t want a wife who can’t have children. Son, come here, let’s go.” Xiuchun exaggeratedly patted her chest and kept rambling, “Almost! I thought they were too kind to marry into our family for free… Oh well, it’s free anyway, we won’t lose out.”

Song Chao looked up, and after receiving confirmation from Liu Chang's parents, he collapsed to the ground.

Xiuchun was no longer intimidated. In her eyes, even if a fairy in heaven couldn't have children, she still wouldn't have any.

She gave a heavy "humph" and began to berate him: "My son has been sleeping with you for more than half a year. No wonder he didn't react. I was wondering why. It turns out you can't have children. This is fraud. I'm telling you, you've lied to our whole family again and again."

He then shoved Liu Chang hard, saying, "Get out of the way, don't block my way."

Song Chao couldn't lift him no matter what he did. His gaze fell on Liu Chang's abdomen, and after a long while, as if he had made up his mind, he gritted his teeth and squeezed out a sentence: "Marriage is fine."

Liu Chang looked at him in surprise, but then heard him say, "But I have conditions."

Without giving anyone a chance to speak, Song Chao said directly, "First, you have to give me a house. Anyway, I won't have any children in the future, and I want to live with Liu Chang."
