Shen Yan stood behind Chen Yu, and the two of them quietly kept each other company. Chen Le finally returned after all that.
"Come on, one for each of you!"
Chen Le helped the two light the lamp wicks. Chen Yu walked to the shore and put the lamp in the water, watching the small lamp slowly float forward. Shen Yan squatted down next to her and released his own lamp as well.
After the two small lights had drifted away, Chen Le led the two of them to continue walking. There were still many late-night food stalls along the street.
After walking around for a while, Chen Yu felt much better. She started talking to Chen Le and laughed from time to time. Shen Yan, however, was a little annoyed. He seemed to be unable to bear seeing Chen Yu happy. Whenever she encountered something unpleasant, his mood would be extremely good.
"At 10:33 PM, are you two hungry? I'm a little hungry."
Chen Le gestured to the two of them with his eyes, pointing to a barbecue stall across from the hotel. Chen Yu and Shen Yan both nodded. Chen Yu wasn't actually very hungry; he was just thinking about using Chen Le's money. Shen Yan, on the other hand, was genuinely hungry.
The three of them sat down at the barbecue stall. Chen Le ordered a few of his favorite dishes and let the other two choose some themselves. Chen Yu smacked her lips, feeling that something was missing. She turned her head and saw the beverage cabinet next to her. It turned out that they were missing drinks. She went up and picked out a bottle of her favorite coconut juice. Just as she was about to close the door, she thought of Chen Yan and took out another bottle from there.
She placed the coconut juice in front of Shen Yan. Shen Yan was somewhat surprised; he hadn't expected Chen Yu to get him a bottle while getting a drink. He looked down at the tips of his shoes, feeling that something about Chen Yu had changed, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it, and he wasn't sure if it was just his imagination...
