Chen Yu returned to her room and patted her chest, trying to calm her anxious heart. Everything was not developing as she had expected. Could it be that she had overlooked something? Chen Yu leaned against the door with a headache.
"Yu Yu, Mom is coming in."
Li Ziyun pushed open the door and felt like she bumped into something. She peeked inside and saw Chen Yu sitting on the floor. "Why are you sitting on the floor? Get up quickly."
Li Ziyun helped Chen Yu sit on the bed, then took out his phone from his pocket and gave it to her. "Yu Yu, don't blame your father. He's doing this for your own good."
"I know, Mom, I won't blame Dad."
Li Ziyun felt a little moved. She was a little unaccustomed to Chen Yu being so obedient all of a sudden. She patted Chen Yu's head and said, "Don't worry about what your father says. You should still go out for a walk."
"Okay, Mom, I'm a little tired and want to sleep."
"good."
Li Ziyun covered Chen Yu with a blanket, patted her head, turned off the light, and left. Back in the room, she looked at Chen Kang with some anger.
"Didn't we agree not to hit the child? Why are you acting so impulsively?"
"Oh, how can I not be angry? If Old Shen finds out, he'll be furious."
"Alright, alright." Li Ziyun patted Chen Kang's back. He had to coax both the big and the small ones, but Shen Yan was the easiest to deal with.
morning.
Li Ziyun got up early to prepare breakfast. She was thinking of taking Shen Yan to the hospital for a check-up today. He seemed to be recovering well, but it would be safer to have him checked again.
"Wife, why did you get up so early today?" Chen Kang asked, rubbing his eyes as he came downstairs and watching Li Ziyun's busy figure.
"Yes, I'll take Shen Yan to the hospital today." Li Ziyun replied to Chen Kang while placing breakfast on the table.
"Let's ask Yu Yu to come along, it'll be more convenient that way."
"Let's check later, I'm afraid Yu Yu won't be able to get up."
The sounds of the two talking downstairs woke up Shen Yan. He hadn't closed the door while sleeping these past few days. He adjusted his posture and tried to sit up. He felt better every day.
As soon as Li Ziyun went upstairs, she saw Shen Yan sitting up. He was already able to get up on his own, which was a good sign. After thinking for a moment, she decided to wait until Shen Yan sat up before helping him.
"Chen Yan, you're awake."
Li Ziyun waited until Shen Yan was seated before she went in and helped him up. She took him to the bathroom to wash up and then downstairs for breakfast. Chen Yu was listening in the room. She had actually been awake for a while. She wanted to accompany Shen Yan to the hospital, but she was thinking of dealing with Jiang Yang's problem first.
After everyone else had left, Chen Yu washed up, ate something, and went out herself. She was nervous on her way to the secret base, and she kept thinking about what she should say next.
When she arrived at the familiar place, Chen Yu felt a pang of sadness. This building had eventually been demolished. She, Wang Yue, and Jiang Yang had cried their hearts out back then, because their most precious place was gone.
Seeing it again now evokes a complex feeling that I can't quite describe.
"Chen Yu, you've finally arrived. We've been here since last night."
Jiang Yang's voice came from behind. Chen Yu turned around and saw Jiang Yang and Wang Yue. Wang Yue had her hands in her pockets and some dark circles under her eyes, so she looked like she had stayed up all night.
"Okay, let's get to the point quickly."
Chen Yu plopped down on the sofa, her usual spot, which was also her so-called throne, but in reality, it was just a broken sofa that had been abandoned there.
"Chen Yu, you are shameless. We were so loyal to you before, and now you just walk away after something happens."
Hearing Jiang Yang's unreasonable words, Chen Yu took a deep breath. "Jiang Yang, this has nothing to do with me. I didn't ask you to do this."
"Isn't it because you hate Shen Yan that I'm helping you get revenge!"
“That’s right, Chen Yu. We know you hate Shen Yan, and we always try our best to help you get back at him.”
Chen Yu felt that they wouldn't listen to anything she said, so she simply chose to remain silent. However, Jiang Yang and Wang Yue only interpreted Chen Yu's silence as an admission of guilt.
The three remained silent for a few minutes. Chen Yu felt there was no need to continue the conversation, so she got up to leave, but Wang Yue stopped her. "You want to leave without explaining yourself? How come I never noticed how arrogant you were before?"
"Do you think it'll make any difference what I say? You wouldn't listen anyway."
"Then don't blame us."
Chen Yu's last memory was of Jiang Yang's words. Her mouth and nose were covered from behind, and a strange smell wafted into her nostrils. When she came to her senses, everything went black and she fainted.
"Do...do we really have to do this?"
Wang Yue looked at Chen Yu, who had fainted and was lying on the dirty ground. Jiang Yang was also at a loss for what to do. He just wanted to teach Chen Yu a lesson and didn't really want to do anything to her. After all, their childhood friendship was still there.
"Brother Qiang, are you really alright?"
"It's nothing, what kind of big scene could have scared you like this?"
Li Qiang stroked his chin as he looked at Chen Yu. He hadn't expected that this naive young girl would actually be quite pretty. His greedy gaze made Jiang Yang and Wang Yue a little scared. Jiang Yang stepped forward and helped Chen Yu up. "Then thank you this time, Brother Qiang. I'll give you the money I owe you now."
He forced himself to remain calm and pulled a wad of red banknotes from his pocket. He didn't count how many there were, but it was all the cash he had on him.
Wang Yue also helped Jiang Yang support Chen Yu, and the two of them supported her as they prepared to leave.
