Chapter 59 Fairy Wand

The two walked and stopped frequently, and it took them about half an hour to reach the agreed place.

Why are you two so slow?

"That's right, we've been waiting so long the flowers are about to wither."

Wang Yue and Jiang Yang started complaining about the two of them as soon as they saw them.

Chen Yu put her hands on her hips and said, "We walked here, of course we're slower!"

"Alright, then I guess you have a reason to be excusable."

Jiang Yang shrugged. How could he and Wang Yue not know that Chen Yu just wanted to stay with Shen Yan a little longer?

"Oh, let's not talk about that anymore. Come on, one for each of us!"

Wang Yue handed out sparklers to everyone, one for each of them. Chen Yu looked at her with a puzzled expression, "Are we that short on funds? One for each of us!?"

"Oh well, I'll just have to make do. I only bought two boxes, I'll store them slowly, hahaha!"

Chen Yu sensed something was wrong with Wang Yue's words, so she moved closer to Wang Yue and asked, "Where's the money?!"

"We used up most of our internet time..."

Chen Yu knew it. She looked helplessly at the sparkler in her hand and thought, "Oh well, a sparkler it is."

Shen Yan found it novel; such a small thing looked quite nice when lit.

Seeing Chen Yan's serious expression, Chen Yu couldn't resist taking out her phone and secretly snapping a picture.

The photos turned out even better than she had imagined.

She quietly changed this photo to her phone wallpaper, and the more she looked at it, the more she liked it.

"Look at others, look at us."

Jiang Yang raised his head, and everyone looked in his direction. A group of people were setting off fireworks on the side, which contrasted sharply with the sparklers in their hands.

"Haha, I actually think our fairy wands are quite cute."

Wang Yue laughed foolishly to the side. Chen Yu shook his head as he looked at her expression. What an easily satisfied child.

After putting out two boxes of sparklers, the four of them went home. They had originally planned to get a late-night snack, but unfortunately all the shops were closed.

On the way home.

Chen Yu walked slowly beside Shen Yan.

"Chen Yan, which school do you want to apply to?"

Chen Yu's words made Shen Yan fall silent for a moment. "I haven't thought about it yet."

Chen Yu didn't quite understand what Shen Yan was saying. She remembered that Shen Yan had decided which school to apply to a long time ago.

So Shen Yan still doesn't want to tell her?

She felt a pang of disappointment.

"And you? Which exam do you want to take?"

"Me? I haven't decided yet."

Chen Yu gave a calm reply, and Shen Yan did not press the matter further.

The two returned home quietly.

The holiday passed just like that, and the life of a senior high school student made Chen Yu feel a lot of pressure, which she felt from the opening exam on the first day of school.

The questions above were very difficult, and she felt anxious right after the exam.

Seeing that Chen Yu's expression was not good, Shen Yan immediately understood. "I'll explain it to you when the test papers are handed out."

Chen Yu nodded, but she still seemed listless and weak.

She's almost afraid to face Chen Ji now.

Back home.

Chen Yu lay in bed, feeling very down, and didn't even want to eat dinner.

Chen Kang and Li Ziyun looked at Shen Yan strangely.

"Where's your sister? Why isn't she coming down for dinner?"

"I'll go up and call out."

Shen Yan gently knocked on Chen Yu's room door. "Chen Yu, come out for dinner."

"You guys eat, I don't want to eat."

Chen Yu pulled the blanket over her head.

"Let's go out and get something to eat."

Shen Yan asked again. Chen Yu was about to get angry, but her stomach growled twice, so she had no choice but to lift the covers, open the door, and follow Shen Yan downstairs.

When Chen Kang saw Chen Yu come down, he said, "Why do you need someone to call you? Your mother cooked your favorite sweet and sour pork ribs."

Chen Yu didn't say anything and just ate the rice in her bowl. Chen Kang wanted to say something more, but Li Ziyun stopped him. After finishing her meal, Chen Yu went upstairs.

Li Ziyun and Chen Kang pulled Shen Yan to the balcony.

What happened to your sister?

"The entrance exam was a bit difficult, and she didn't do well..."

Chen Kang and Li Ziyun exchanged a glance, then, without saying anything, sent Shen Yan back to his room.

"Shall we go buy some brain-boosting herbs to make soup for the kids?"

"Okay, let's go now."

Chen Kang grabbed the car keys and set off with Li Ziyun.

Shen Yan took a cup of hot milk to Chen Yu's door and knocked. "Chen Yu, may I come in?"

"Come in."

Hearing the sound, Shen Yan opened the door and went in, where he saw Chen Yu sitting at his desk, writing something with his head down.

He placed the hot milk on the table. "Have some, it'll help you sleep better tonight."

Chen Yu didn't speak, but nodded.

For quite some time, Shen Yan didn't leave. Chen Yu finished the last bit of her homework and then realized that Shen Yan was still in her room.

"What's wrong? Is there anything else?"

"Yeah, I just wanted to tell you not to take the opening exam too seriously; some of the questions are beyond the syllabus..."

Chen Yu was taken aback. Had Shen Yan come specifically to comfort her?

"I know, you don't need to worry about me."

Shen Yan wanted to say something more, but he couldn't utter a single word. He rarely chatted with people, let alone offered words of comfort.

Chen Yu smiled and glanced at Shen Yan. "Don't worry, I know. Let's start the make-up classes tomorrow. I want to rest today."

Shen Yan nodded hesitantly, then reminded Chen Yu to drink the milk before leaving.

Hearing the door close, Chen Yu exhaled and put down her pen.

She began to fall into deep self-doubt, wondering if she could actually attend the same school as Shen Yan.

early morning.

Chen Yu got up early; she hadn't slept well at all last night because she was thinking about things.

Chen Yu rummaged through her drawer, convinced she was going to doze off in class today.

"What are you looking for? I'll help you find it."

A stern voice suddenly rang out.

"Oh, I'm looking for my coffee. Where did I put it?"

Shen Yan was taken aback for a moment, but still helped her find the coffee.

Chen Yu poured a packet of tea into her kettle, then grabbed some bread and went out.

More than half of the students had already arrived in the classroom, and everyone was nervously discussing the opening exams.

The most common sentiment was that people were afraid they wouldn't be able to finish the exam.

Chen Yu shared the same mindset.

She felt a little anxious as she watched Old Wang walk in with the test papers.

He rattled off a whole bunch of things, saying that many students in his class had dropped in grades, and Chen Yu immediately put herself in his shoes.

Until Lao Wang announced the results.

Chen Yu's score did not drop; in fact, it increased by three or four points.

She looked at Shen Yan excitedly. She felt that the questions were really difficult and thought she was going to lose a lot of points.

To her surprise, it was truly unexpected.

The teacher praised Chen Yu again, saying that her grades had always been very good.

Needless to say, the somber and stern type has always been like this.

Chen Yu's bad mood vanished, and she ate heartily when she got home. Jiang Yang and Wang Yue arrived at her house on time for their class after dinner.
