Chapter 85
Sawada Tsunayoshi's many days of hard work and relentless practice have finally paid off today.
When Xanxus's hands were frozen solid by Zero Point Breakthrough, the Ninth Boss stopped the fight, unable to bear seeing his child hurt again.
Faced with the enraged XANXUS, his secret with the Ninth Generation, which he had kept hidden for many years, was also revealed to everyone.
But Sawada Tsunayoshi knew that no matter what XANXUS's identity was, he was the Ninth Boss's son and the most important person to him.
He glanced at XANXUS, whose expression was complex, then put the Vongola Sky Ring into his hand and left without looking back, heading straight for the stadium. His biggest worry now was the safety of his companions.
XANXUS stared sharply at the camera, meeting the gaze of the Ninth Generation behind the lens. The old man's gentle yet sorrowful eyes flashed through his mind again. He staggered to his feet, snorted coldly, and completely suppressed his outward emotions. He headed towards the stadium, wanting to see what those trash were doing.
When Sawada Tsunayoshi arrived at the stadium exhausted, he easily pushed open the door and walked in. What came into view was his companions and the members of Varian sitting opposite each other. If it weren't for the pile of snacks in between them, he might have thought that there was a tense relationship between them.
Rokudo Mukuro put the last bit of chocolate in his hand into his mouth and slowly stood up.
Hayato Gokudera threw his potato chips on the ground and rushed straight to Tsunayoshi Sawada. The others also gathered around, asking him questions with concern.
Behind them was XANXUS. Upon discovering XANXUS's arrival, apart from Levi lying on the floor, Mammon, Bel, and Lussuria all flinched, feeling somewhat guilty.
The boss is out there working hard, while his subordinates are sitting here leisurely eating snacks. It just doesn't seem right. How can they not feel guilty now?
After the two men stormed into the stadium, the fog that had been obscuring the cameras gradually dissipated, allowing people outside the stadium to see the situation inside.
Colonello looked displeased. "Are they here to fight or to have a meal? Kola!" The people who should be fighting were more relaxed than the onlookers.
"Where did those snacks come from?" Shamal was speechless. He had been so worried about Gokudera outside, but the stinky man really didn't deserve any sympathy!
The Ninth Generation, however, looked pleased. "It seems the children are getting along very well."
After saying this, everyone saw XANXUS on the screen, the flames of rage in his hands burning fiercely once more, and the fireball, like a meteor falling from the sky, hurtled towards the Varian members. "You bunch of trash!"
Sweat beaded on Mammon's forehead, but he dodged without hesitation. Did the BOSS think they were that white-haired idiot Squalo? Of course they'd run away when he attacked them!
When Sawada Tsunayoshi saw his companions, his heart finally settled down. The death flame on his forehead slowly died down, and his cool gloves returned to their plush version.
A big smile spread across his face. "Thank goodness, everyone's alright!"
"Tenth Boss, I'm terribly sorry, I couldn't help you." Gokudera Hayato sat down and respectfully apologized to Sawada Tsunayoshi, his face full of remorse. Although they were in the stadium, they had witnessed the entire battle between the two with Rokudo Mukuro's help.
Sawada Tsunayoshi hurriedly waved his hand, saying that this was his battle and Gokudera-kun didn't need to blame himself so much.
Rokudo Mukuro then added, "By the way, congratulations on your victory in the Battle of the Sky."
Sawada Tsunayoshi scratched his head and grinned foolishly, while XANXUS scoffed lightly but did not refute him.
He then took out the Vongola rings from his hand and casually tossed them to Sawada Tsunayoshi, saying, "These rings are for you."
Sawada Tsunayoshi hurriedly caught it, "Huh? Where's the Cloud Ring?"
Rokudo Mukuro smiled slightly, "How would I know? You should ask the little sparrow over there."
Sawada Tsunayoshi cautiously approached Hibari Kyoya, only to receive a cold look and a very willful reply, "Oh, that thing, I just threw it away, I don't know where it is."
After noticing Rokudo Mukuro's little tricks, he got the ring on his own, used it to detoxify himself, and then casually tossed it away. It's probably still lying in some corner of the playground now.
"What?! He threw it away?!" Sawada Tsunayoshi wailed, clutching his head. This thing was a symbol of Vongola's status, extremely valuable. Hibari-senpai just threw it away like that?! The Vongola would definitely not let him get away with this. He could already feel Xanxus's fierce gaze...
Will he be able to leave this stadium alive tonight?
Everyone was incredulous; Hibari Kyoya was far too capricious.
Rokudo Mukuro curled his lip in disdain. He was indifferent to the rings now, but what about ten years from now? He had always pursued strength, would he still discard the Vongola Rings like trash ten years from now?
"Senior Yun Que, where did you put the ring?"
"Shut up, trash." XANXUS's anger surged again. He looked down at the crowd in the stadium, his gaze falling on Sawada Tsunayoshi. "Go find the ring, or I'll kill you..."
Sawada Tsunayoshi shuddered, and Gokudera Hayato and the others quickly stood in front of him, fearing that XANXUS would attack again.
At the Ninth Generation's instruction, Cerrobel officially announced via radio that Sawada Tsunayoshi had become the successor of the Vongola.
The battle for the rings ended rather abruptly. The heir, Sawada Tsunayoshi, and his companions, instead of resting after their victory, rushed to the training ground, grumbling and swearing as they searched for the Cloud Ring.
Hibari Kyoya glanced at him from behind, then turned and left without a trace of remorse.
Rokudo Mukuro resolutely refused to do such hard work. He believed that the mess Hibari Kyoya had made should be cleaned up by Sawada Tsunayoshi, and had nothing to do with him. So, he left with the Obsidian Trio.
Sawada Tsunayoshi watched Hibari-senpai, Mukuro, and XANXUS leave, feeling utterly helpless and on the verge of tears. He dared not utter a sound to stop them, as he couldn't afford to offend any of these three groups.
"Junior brother, don't worry, I'll help you look for it." After handing Squalo over to Varian, Dino volunteered to go onto the playground to help his junior brother. "After all, Hibari is also my student!"
"That wretched Lark! Does he think the ring is trash? He just throws it away like that."
“He only litters because it’s not trash,” Yamamoto Takeshi said. “If it were trash, Hibari would just throw it in the trash can.”
"Luckily I ate some snacks, otherwise I would be completely exhausted. I must find the ring with all my might!"
Little Lambo, having eaten his fill, was already lying on the playground, fast asleep.
Sawada Tsunayoshi rubbed his stomach, his expression indescribable. He had just gone through a fierce battle and was exhausted and hungry. All he wanted to do was collapse on the bed, wrap himself in his blanket, and have a good night's sleep QAQ
The playground is so big, and the ring is so small, how early will they arrive? Sawada Tsunayoshi stared intently at the playground, but his eyes gradually closed.
While everyone was still searching diligently on the playground, they heard a thud. Turning around, they saw Sawada Tsunayoshi lying unconscious on the playground.
Everyone was startled and quickly went over. Reborn, who had been standing with the Ninth Generation and the others watching the commotion, looked him over and concluded, "He's fine, just asleep."
They were relieved. Gokudera Hayato moved him next to Lambo so the two of them could sleep together, while they continued their search for the ring.
It was at this moment, under the light, that he noticed a metallic gleam reflecting off Lambo's afro, shining into his eyes.
Gokudera Hayato gently picked up Lambo, and a ring appeared under his head. Upon closer inspection, it was indeed the Cloud Ring.
The veins on his forehead throbbed—this stupid ox really needs to be taught a lesson!
...
When Sawada Tsunayoshi woke up again, he breathed a huge sigh of relief. Even hearing Lambo's noisy voice brought him comfort. He really didn't want to see Lambo unconscious a second time; he preferred Lambo's lively self.
As soon as he went downstairs, Sawada Tsunayoshi saw a man he had never seen before in his house. The man had a fierce face, but at that moment he was like a cat tree, covered with children, yet he was slapping and throwing them around, maintaining a motionless position.
"Excuse me, who are you?"
Reborn jumped in just in time, "This is the helper Mukuro found for you, the strongest man in Northern Italy—Rancha! Although he wasn't needed~"
Sawada Tsunayoshi was taken aback. Was this an accomplice that Mukuro had brought? "Mr. Rancha, hello."
Lancha remained in her position, letting the child on her body play, saying, "Excuse me."
Why is Mr. Lancha at my house? He's an assistant that Mukuro hired; shouldn't he be with Mukuro?
Lancha seemed to sense Sawada Tsunayoshi's question and fell silent for a moment, only becoming more careful with the child's movements on her body.
He couldn't resent Rokudo Mukuro, because the truth was indeed ugly; yet he couldn't accept Rokudo Mukuro without resentment, because he had indeed received favors from the family. He could only wander, caught in this dilemma, searching for the families of the victims caused by the family, hoping to make even the slightest bit of amends—that would be his atonement.
But faced with Rokudo Mukuro's plea for help, he simply couldn't ignore it; after all, they were children he had raised for so long. Even knowing that Rokudo Mukuro and the others were very strong, what if…?
So he came. He wanted to see what kind of person this child, whom Rokudo Mukuro had high hopes for and who would become the Tenth Vongola, really was.
The result did not disappoint him. He witnessed the entire process of the fight. The child was like a light in the darkness, kind, innocent, and determined.
Rancha followed Sawada Tsunayoshi and his family to the Yamamoto family's sushi restaurant for what was supposed to be a party. He couldn't quite explain what he was thinking; perhaps he wanted to see Rokudo Mukuro, Chikusa, and Inuyasha to see how they were doing.
Seeing Rancha enter the sushi restaurant, Rokudo Mukuro's expression remained unchanged, while Chigusa and Inuyasha were slightly taken aback. They had both been following Rancha's movements and naturally knew what he had been doing all these years. However, this was their first meeting since they parted ways.
Lancha saw the three people in front of her, "...Haku, Chikusa, Inu, it's been a long time."
“Kufufufu~ Long time no see, Lanqia.”
Chigusa and Inu awkwardly greeted him, after all, this man was the first person they had met who genuinely cared for them after escaping the laboratory.
"...I'm relieved to see that you're all doing well."
"..."
