Chapter 48

Chapter 48

The next day, after class, Rokudo Mukuro and the tennis club members took Gojo Satoru and Natsuyu Suguru to Tokyo.

Tokyo has a huge flow of people, so the aura of cursed spirits that Rokudo Mukuro could sense was even stronger. This also made things difficult for the members of Rikkai University's tennis club.

The two worlds are merging, and they have suddenly transitioned from a peaceful and beautiful state a few days ago to a state of turmoil and monsters everywhere.

On the way to the hospital, Rokudo Mukuro made a reasonable deduction: "Could it be that your Captain Yukimura can also see cursed spirits?"

They're all in the same tennis club, so it's impossible to exclude Yukimura Seiichi alone. It's reasonable to assume that none of them will be missing.

Upon hearing this, the tennis club members tensed up and quickened their pace.

They remembered what Wu Tiaowu and Xia Youjie had said last night: places with high traffic, such as schools and hospitals, are where cursed spirits are most prevalent.

Gojo Satoru and Natsume looked at each other in bewilderment; this was the first time they had ever seen sorcerers appear in such a large group.

Rokudo Mukuro wasn't particularly interested in tennis, but he couldn't resist the way people in this world played tennis. That deadly style of tennis was just like the Vongola-style baseball that Reborn introduced when training Yamamoto Takeshi.

Add to that Kirihara Akaya, a Yukimura fanboy.

Therefore, he couldn't help but feel a little curious about Yukimura Seiichi.

"What illness does your Minister Yukimura have?" Rokudo Mukuro looked up.

Akaya Kirihara shook his head, his previously wild hair now drooping. "The captain only said it's a very serious illness, requiring surgery to recover..."

But he immediately rallied his spirits, "Our Captain Yukimura is a god among men, the number one tennis player in junior high school. There's no disease he can't overcome. He'll definitely be able to return to school soon."

Xia Youjie also looked over curiously, "Child of God?" This is a very impressive title. Gojo Satoru is also known as the God Child of the Gojo family in the world of sorcery.

Gojo Satoru blinked, but didn't say anything.

The moment everyone stepped into the hospital, they immediately sensed that something was wrong.

Looking at the strangely shaped cursed spirits around him, Rokudo Mukuro couldn't help but exclaim, "Wow, it's really crowded."

Everyone turned their attention to Gojo Satoru and Natsumi Yuuki.

Xia Youjie shrugged. "Don't underestimate us. There are so many of us now. Even if we take action, we might hurt innocent people."

Rokudo Mukuro couldn't help but interject, "Most people can't see cursed spirits. If you make a move, they'll probably think you're idiots who just escaped from a mental hospital."

Xia Youjie's eyes darkened. Although Rokudo Mukuro's words were unpleasant, they were indeed true. He didn't want to stage a fight between empty air and nonexistent objects here.

"Pretend you can't see them, and they won't attack you."

Led by Genichiro Sanada, the group quickly walked towards Seiichi Yukimura's hospital room.

“Yukimura,” Sanada Genichiro stepped forward and knocked on the door, “we’ve come to see you.”

A moment later, a gentle voice rang out from inside the door, "It's Sanada."

Genichiro Sanada frowned. Yukimura was acting very strangely. In the past, this person inside would have immediately and politely invited them in.

"Yes, and everyone from the tennis club, please come too..."

"You should go back first," Yukimura Seiichi's apologetic voice came from inside the door before Sanada Genichiro could finish speaking. "I'm not feeling well today and I have to go for a check-up later, so it's inconvenient for me to entertain you."

This is so abnormal; Yukimura Seiichi is acting so out of place today.

Genichiro Sanada wanted to say something more, but Satoru Gojo pushed him away. These clueless teenagers didn't notice, but they shouldn't try to fool Satoru Gojo and Natsuyuki.

There was a powerful cursed spirit in the ward, stronger than any other cursed spirit in the hospital. Yukimura Seiichi, who was in the ward, had clearly awakened his cursed power like his club members due to the merging of the worlds, and could also see cursed spirits. His repeated excuses were just to get these people to leave.

Gojo Satoru opened the ward door on his own and strode in. "Hello, son of God. I am the son of God of the Gojo family, Gojo Satoru."

He then pointed to Xia Youjie, who had followed him inside, and said, "This is Shenzi's close friend—Xia Youjie."

Rokudo Mukuro followed him in and immediately spotted Yukimura Seiichi sitting on the hospital bed, wearing a blue striped hospital gown. He was handsome and refined, but at that moment he appeared inexplicably haggard and pale.

"Hello, Yukimura-kun, I'm Rokudo Mukuro, a new transfer student at Rikkai University." Rokudo Mukuro glanced almost imperceptibly around the ward before greeting him with a smile.

Yukimura Seiichi smiled and said, "Hello."

The smile was gentle, yet it easily revealed the gritted teeth beneath. What did it matter if they were divine children or not? What mattered was where these self-centered, incomprehensible individuals came from.

Upon seeing the tennis club members filing in after them, Yukimura Seiichi could no longer maintain his smile.

Just as Gojo Satoru had sensed, there was a powerful cursed spirit in the ward. Yukimura Seiichi had only recently discovered it. He tried to get help from others, but found that it seemed no one in the entire hospital could see these things.

His intuition told him that these things were dangerous, that he shouldn't look directly at them, and that he shouldn't let these monsters realize he could see them. He tried to maintain his usual demeanor, trying to ignore the presence of these monsters in the hospital.

But he was still a child, and a sick child at that.

He also discovered that his body was becoming increasingly uncomfortable because of the existence of these monsters. He tried to leave the hospital, but was stopped by the doctors, nurses, and his parents. He was truly at a loss for words these past two days.

All he could do was try to minimize his contact with others. But who knew that today, members of the tennis club would come one after another, like the Calabash Brothers rescuing their grandfather.

Thinking of this, his face darkened. No, he was still smiling, even more radiantly than ever before, his beautiful eyes slightly curved, his smile like a spring breeze, yet it sent a chill down the spines of everyone in the tennis club.

Looking at the people in front of him, Yukimura Seiichi slowly sensed the tense atmosphere. In the past, the more outgoing members of the tennis club would have been chatting away with him about what was happening in the club; the more reserved ones would have given him small gifts.

Unlike now, he came in without saying a word, instead using his eyes...

No, it's the eyes!

Yukimura Seiichi immediately became alert. As the number one player who had long dominated the tennis club, even when he was sick, his observation skills had not diminished. Of course, he noticed that his club members' eyes were glancing at something.

Yukimura Seiichi remained tense, but slowly probed, "Sanada, Yanagi, has anything unusual happened around you lately?"

He emphasized the pronunciation of the word "special".

Just as the tennis club members were about to say something, they were interrupted by Gojo Satoru's nonchalant manner.

He said nonchalantly, "It's just a slightly stronger cursed spirit. With me here, there's no need to be so careful."

As he spoke, he gave the cursed spirit a provocative look.

"No wonder he has the same name as me, he's just so hateful." Gojo Satoru said smugly, taking pride in the envy and hatred of others.

Rokudo Mukuro, standing to the side, smiled. This guy actually has some self-awareness.

"Enlightenment, that's nothing to brag about." Xia Youjie was always worried about his best friend's safety.

Gojo Satoru said nonchalantly, "So what? We're the strongest. The strong are always the envy and the object of jealousy."

The cursed spirit before us was clearly a level one cursed spirit, and it was incredibly fortunate that it hadn't suddenly attacked and harmed anyone. Otherwise, the entire hospital would have suffered heavy casualties.

It was extremely ugly, exuded malice, and occasionally uttered hoarse words:

"A genius... has fallen..."

"Go to hell..."

This cursed spirit was born entirely from human jealousy and malice. Humans are phototropic animals. Faced with a genius who is like the blazing sun in the sky, some people will follow him without hesitation and strive in his direction. But there are also despicable people who are jealous of his talent and disgusted by his brilliance. The black mud in their hearts wished they could drag him into the mud and make him as dirty as themselves.

This is also a flaw in human nature.

This cursed spirit was born from such vile nature, and it curses the most dazzling "Child of God" in this world...

"This is disgusting!" Rokudo Mukuro squinted at the cursed spirit, his expression filled with indescribable loathing.

After all, he himself was someone who yearned for "light".

But the being before him was about to drag a ray of light into the mire. Rokudo Mukuro was now absolutely certain that he loathed cursed spirits.

The tennis club members also pulled their "beautiful, fragile, and helpless" captain, Yukimura, from his sickbed and dragged him into their protective circle. They knew very well that they were of no use against a monster like the Cursed Spirit.

While watching Rokudo Mukuro and the others confront the cursed spirit, they explained the current situation to Yukimura Seiichi.

Xia Youjie looked at the cursed spirit in front of him with some difficulty. It wasn't actually that difficult to deal with, but the problem was that they were now in another world, and there was no relevant department to handle their aftermath. Furthermore, there was no crowd control in the hospital; he could see large numbers of people coming and going downstairs.

They are both very strong, and exorcising cursed spirits is a piece of cake for them. But if they use this move, the ward will be mostly destroyed, and there is a possibility of accidental injury.

Seeing Gojo Satoru eager to try, Natsume called him over and expressed his concerns.

"What's the big deal? Just go for it."

Xia Youjie rubbed his forehead. "What if the hospital asks us for compensation? How are we going to buy you Xijiufu if we don't have any money?"

At that moment, Gojo Satoru immediately realized the seriousness of the problem.

He muttered to himself, "So, the logistics staff are still somewhat useful after all."

Rokudo Mukuro noticed their hesitation and stepped forward, saying, "Kufufufu...Why don't you let me try?"

"But you have no magical power..."

Before he finished speaking, an indigo flame ignited on Rokudo Mukuro's trident. The flame had no temperature, but it contained extremely rich energy.

Rokudo Mukuro's eyes sharpened. "Let me try and see if the Dying Will Flame can burn it to death."
