Chapter 41 Trap Harvest

Yunxi had to exert tremendous effort to capture the two flying dragons, as they were incredibly fast and agile.

If Yunxi hadn't had some ability, she might never have had the chance to eat dragon meat.

He simply threw the two dragons into his spatial storage, intending to take them out later when they were ready to eat.

Yunxi discovered that in the deep mountains, the firewood seemed inexhaustible. Even though it was outside where pig feed was being cut, it was extremely difficult to gather any firewood.

Even the firewood was small, but here large pieces of firewood are everywhere, and there are even many dead trees.

I feel like the firewood I collected this afternoon is enough to fill the entire woodshed, and there's still some left to put in my storage space.

We encountered many medicinal herbs along the way, and even picked two Ganoderma lucidum mushrooms, but they didn't look very big, so we didn't know if they were worth anything.

Besides the medicinal herbs, Yunxi also caught a lot of pheasants and rabbits. She didn't encounter any large prey, but she found a lot of kudzu vines. If she had time to dig them up, she would have dug them all up.

Yunxi realized she was being a bit greedy, wanting to take everything home as soon as she saw it.

There were so many medicinal herbs in the deep mountains that Yunxi lost track of time while gathering them. When she came to her senses, the entire forest had darkened.

The trees were originally very tall, blocking out the sunlight, and now that a lot of time has passed, the sun is about to set.

The light inside the forest was even dimmer.

Yunxi quickly picked the medicinal herb in her hand, and then prepared to go to the place with a water source. She didn't know where the end of the stream was, but it wasn't very big, only about half a meter wide.

The stream water was quite clear, but she dared not drink it. What if something terrifying had been left behind upstream? That would be too frightening.

She could hear noises coming from the trap from afar, and Yunxi was delighted. She knew that prey must have run into it, and it seemed that she was really capable.

After looking around and making sure there were no prey nearby, he quietly walked to where the trap was located.

Looking down, I saw a wild boar had fallen into the trap, its body pierced by sharp thorns made from tree trunks.

What surprised Yunxi was that she had poured in some sheep's blood, which should have attracted carnivores.

I originally thought it would attract some fierce prey such as wolves, tigers, and leopards, but I didn't expect it to attract wild boars.

However, wild boars are omnivorous animals and will eat anything, so it seems normal for them to be attracted and fall into traps.

Yunxi quickly put the wild boar into her spatial storage, then rearranged the traps below to see if there would be any prey inside tomorrow after a night.

It's likely that there will be some, after all, only a few hours have passed and a 300-pound animal fell in.

Nighttime is when those wild beasts come out, and this place is near a stream. I just don't know if the trap is big enough, or if there will be too many prey that will escape from it.

Thinking this, Yunxi took out tools from her spatial storage and prepared to dig the trap bigger and deeper, so that any prey that fell in would have no chance of escaping with its life.

Although there's no shortage of meat in the Lingxi Space, she still hunts more prey. At least things can still be bought and sold outside, and selling them for money is a great thing.

After putting the trap away, Yunxi noticed that it was getting darker and darker. If she didn't go back soon, she wouldn't be able to see the road clearly anymore.

He quickly put everything into his spatial storage, even his basket, and headed down the mountain without hesitation.

Now I don't bring anything, it's easy and faster.

In addition, the road had already been cleared when we went up the mountain, so going down the mountain was much easier than going up.

Before they even reached the foot of the mountain, it was already completely dark. Fortunately, Yunxi's eyesight was unaffected by day or night, allowing her to see the outside environment clearly, so it didn't delay her journey at all.

After Yunxi descended the mountain, there was no sound outside. Everyone was resting inside their houses, and occasionally when passing by someone's door, one could hear voices coming from inside.

It's possible that only the village dogs discovered Yunxi's passing.

When Yunxi got home, the first thing she did was to quickly bring in the things that were hanging outside.

Fortunately, the weather is quite hot now, and there's no dew yet, so I just put the dried mushrooms into my space without even putting them in a bag.

I've packed so much stuff lately that I feel like I don't have enough sacks at home.

Finally, Yunxi decided to simply not install it and store it separately in her space, so she could just take it out when she needed it.

After harvesting the mushrooms, I also cleaned the drying mat, rolled it up, and put it away, planning to use it again tomorrow.

Looking at the green beans drying outside, and thinking about how they were soaked in dew all night, I'll leave them outside again tonight for another night. Starting tomorrow, I'll have to bring them in every day.

After tidying up the things in the front yard, I quickly went to the back yard to check on the chickens. I had only asked them about them this morning, and I didn't know if they were starving.

I first went into their cage and checked the eggs. I was surprised to find that I had collected four eggs today.

This left her momentarily at a loss; it seemed that this method of checking which chicken was slacking off was completely useless.

So all I could do was let them out, and I gathered some fresh wild vegetables that I had picked on the mountain that day. I tore them up and threw them directly into the enclosure, and also added some extra water for them.

It seems they were really starving today, otherwise they usually don't eat much at this late hour.

After feeding the chickens, Yunxi hurried to the front yard to feed herself.

It's so late, I don't want to cook anything complicated. I still have plenty of steamed buns in the room, so I'll just make myself a mushroom soup and eat the buns.
