"Have you had dinner yet, little girl? Your second uncle should be heading back soon. Do you want to come to your second uncle's house for dinner? It's been a long time since you've been here."
When Yun Shanjun saw Yunxi alone, he instinctively felt he needed to protect her. The little girl was all alone, and if they, as her uncles, didn't keep a close eye on her, no one would know if she was bullied. That wouldn't do.
"Thank you, Second Uncle, but I've already eaten. I'll have to come back another time. I was just feeling bored after eating, so I came out for a walk and to check on the corn and potatoes in my plot. How long will it take before we can harvest them?"
The planting time and the crops planted on Yunxi's family's private plot and her second uncle's family's private plot were about the same.
So Yun Shanjun could tell roughly when the harvest would be ready just by taking a look.
"Yunxi, don't worry, it will take about half a month. Your second uncle will remind you when it's time to harvest."
"Thank you, Second Uncle. By the way, Second Uncle, after we've harvested everything in our private plot, do we need to plant anything else in it?"
Yun Shanjun chuckled, "Who told you to plant anything? You're really not like a farmer's child at all. You don't even know this? In the dead of winter, it's so cold here. Everything will be covered in snow, and you won't be able to plant anything. Everything will freeze to death. Why bother?"
Yunxi thought he suspected her, so she subconsciously stared at the expression on his face. When she realized that he had just said it casually, she breathed a sigh of relief.
As long as you don't doubt that you're not the original, then it's easy to handle.
"Thank you for reminding me, Uncle. I really don't know these things. Grandma used to take care of them. Now that Grandma is gone, I'll have to pay more attention to these things myself."
At this point, Yun Shanjun didn't know what to say, so he could only comfort her by saying, "If you're living alone from now on, just ask us if you don't understand anything, and we'll definitely help you if we can."
Yunxi knew he was overthinking things, so she didn't argue. "I understand. I'll definitely ask you if I don't understand anything."
After exchanging a few words, Second Uncle went back to the river to fetch water. Yunxi didn't disturb him while he was working and left the private plot.
Yunxi was especially grateful that she felt reborn in her soul space; otherwise, she would have to water her own plot of land herself, and just thinking about it made her feel like there was an endless amount of work waiting for her.
After wandering around outside for a while, even though most people had already eaten dinner, Yunxi decided not to go to anyone else's house.
Nowadays, people usually eat, tidy up, and go straight to bed on the kang (heated brick bed).
I've been exhausted all day, and I finally get to rest a little earlier, so how could I possibly bother others?
I picked up so many eels in the space a while ago. Now that they're out, there's no reason to go back empty-handed. I might as well catch a few more.
It's a bit of a pity that the animals captured in the space instantly lose their vitality. So, my idea of taking them to the market to sell is impossible before I can even start. After all, who would buy something that has been dead for who knows how long?
So the only option is to catch a few more and store them in the space, to save for myself to eat later.
However, Yunxi felt that as long as her cooking was delicious enough, there wouldn't be any problems.
After all, the meat she ate today was so delicious that she wouldn't mind eating it every day. So far, she hasn't gotten tired of it at all.
Even though she had just started eating meat, she thought it was so delicious that she could eat it every day from now on.
Yunxi thought that since they were already out, they shouldn't waste time. They might as well catch more things and store them while there were plenty of them in the ditch.
Yunxi deliberately chose a spot away from where her second uncle was fetching water. After all, she was a young woman, and if her second uncle saw her out so late, he would definitely urge her to go back quickly.
Although Yunxi felt that if they encountered bad people, who knows who would be unlucky, sometimes elders always felt that the younger generation was still young and needed the support of adults, so they subconsciously protected them in a warm nest.
To avoid my second uncle seeing me and nagging, I'd better be discreet and leave quietly.
Yunxi searched through several ditches in the field, looking for almost all the fruit in the field.
It took more than an hour in total, and the only thing I got was a whole bunch of things that looked like dead snakes in the space.
Yunxi has encountered many frogs, and although she has put them into her space, she still thinks they are too ugly for the time being. She will wait until she overcomes that mental barrier before putting them in the oil.
After all, I've heard that this thing is quite delicious. Although I've never tried it myself, I can't let its ugly appearance overshadow its deliciousness, so I'll keep it for now.
However, I didn't lose much weight; I just lost about 20 or 30 pounds.
Compared to the eels I caught myself, the number was much smaller.
Feeling that there was no more noise outside, and worried that if I continued to wander around in the fields, the people guarding the fields would think I was trying to steal something, I decided to just go back.
This is no joke. There are many different kinds of crops planted now, and some are gradually ready for harvest. If someone were to discover you wandering around in the fields, it would be hard to explain.
To avoid misunderstandings, I went back on my own initiative.
After returning home, I took some hot water from my spatial storage and poured it into the bathtub that my sixth grandfather had made for me, and then took a nice bath.
After washing the clothes, I hung them out to dry under the eaves. I glanced around the yard and saw there was nothing else to do, so I went inside to rest.
I've been incredibly busy lately, and I've almost finished all the housework—drying, curing, boiling, and stewing as needed. I can finally relax a little from now on.
Yunxi just felt restless, and since she didn't realize how late it was, she didn't have the habit of going to bed on her own.
I decided to take out the books I bought at the library today and read them carefully.
Since this is my first time living as a human being, there are bound to be things I don't know. In addition to regular observation, reading more books will also be helpful.
