Chen Shuyao pursed her lips, took a deep breath, and spoke slowly and calmly, but her tone was somewhat solemn and her expression was complicated. She looked at Chen Shuning. In fact, there were also some things she had not expected in this matter.
"I just found out today that they have an illegitimate child. I didn't know they could keep it so secret. I've had someone investigate their family background and feel they're clean and capable. I just hope you can find a good home. After you get married, you can have a good family and don't have to work to support yourself like you do now."

I won't be used like an object by you for fame and fortune. If you really want me to have a good home, stop trying to convince me to go back and marry a stranger I don't like."
The whole family knew that she liked girls, but no one was willing to accept her. Everyone thought she was abnormal and tried every possible way to send her away. If they could gain some benefits in the process, that would be even better. So, they asked around and tried to find a so-called "good home" for her in the name of "doing good for her".
Chen Shuyao closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Her parents' actions at this engagement party were far more extreme than she had expected. She felt guilty and helpless the moment she learned the truth, but she still wanted to give it a try, to get Shu Ning to like the opposite sex like a normal person. However, things went terribly wrong. Not only did she lose the trust between the sisters, she also hurt her younger sister.
At this point, although she couldn't understand why Shu Ning liked girls, she couldn't go too far like her parents. Chen Shuyao opened her eyes, her eyes misty.
"I'm not here to persuade you to go back. I just want to make sure you're safe. I'm worried you might do something extreme on impulse."
Chen Shuning glanced at Xu Xi, who was protecting him, and said to Chen Shuyao, "I won't do anything extreme. I have people I care about."

She lowered her head and tightened the car keys in her hand, knowing that Chen Shuning was safe now. She should go back home now, as there were a lot of guests waiting at home. This was a huge mess that she still had to go back to clean up.
Chen Shuyao then took a step back and looked at the two people in front of her. After a long silence, she spoke in a light tone, yet with a solemn air.
"If you don't have anything else to do, don't go back. They don't know you live here, so take care of yourself. I'm going back."
After she finished speaking, she turned around and was about to leave. Chen Shuning looked at her back and finally called out, "Sister."
Chen Shuyao paused for a moment. She just stood there, but did not turn around or speak.
Chen Shuning continued, "Thank you."
She knew in her heart that if she went back after escaping this time, she would probably never get out again. Her parents would definitely lock her up and she wouldn't be able to go anywhere. And her sister, although she stood on her parents' side, she always helped her to keep it a secret and did what she could for her.
Chen Shuyao clenched her palms tightly and strode forward. When she was about to leave, a delivery man came over carrying takeaway food.
Xu Xi hurried over to take the takeaway. When she turned back and closed the door, she couldn't help but glance at Chen Shuyao and saw her wiping tears. She pursed her lips, closed the door, and quietly walked to the coffee table with the takeaway and put it on the coffee table.
She looked at Chen Shuning and thought to herself that she should eat first and talk about other things after she was full. If Chen Shuning wanted to talk, she could talk. If she didn't want to talk, she didn't want to ask her and cause her more trouble.
Xu Xi: "Let's eat."
"Yeah." Chen Shuning sat back on the sofa and watched Xu Xi open the takeaway. She herself was caught off guard by what happened today, and Xu Xi should have heard everything in detail.
