Everything went smoothly, everything happened by chance.

Xu Xi followed Chen Shuning in picking out vegetables, only then realizing that choosing the right side dishes was also a matter of choosing the main course. Normally, when she went home to buy groceries for her parents, she only bought the main course. She had no idea what the side dishes were, just like the last time she bought mantis shrimp, but she had no idea what seasonings were needed to make them.

Chen Shuning walked to the vegetable rack, picked up a bunch of coriander, and asked Xu Xi, "Do you eat coriander?"

"Food." Xu Xi nodded.

Chen Shuning took a handful of cilantro. "Have you tried stir-fried beef with cilantro?"

Xu Xi blinked and thought about the stir-fried beef she had eaten before. She had never had stir-fried beef with cilantro. "I haven't had it before. Is it delicious?"

Chen Shuning chuckled: "I'll make it for you to try?"

It’s made for her to taste. Hearing this, Xu Xi felt very excited.

However, the more excited she was in her heart, the more dazed she looked on the surface. How should she react when the person she liked wanted to cook for her?

Xu Xi stood there in a daze for a few seconds, watching Chen Shuning take the coriander and then the ginger. After a while, she finally managed to say:

"I'm looking forward to your cooking, Shuning."

Chen Shuning paused while picking ginger. She gently turned her head to look at Xu Xi. There was an emotion on her face that Xu Xi couldn't understand, and there was a gentle confidence in her tone of voice.

"I think you'd like it."

She knew Xu Xi's preferences, though not all of them. However, over the years, from middle school to high school, and all the way to college, she had seen many people wanting to be with her, yet she only paid the most attention to this one person, and only wanted to be with this one person. She had secretly researched a little bit about her preferences.

Fortunately, after doing some research, I was able to "cater to his needs" and allow this person who had never paid attention to me to approach me step by step.

Xu Xi was right on Chen Shuning's side. How could she not like the dish cooked by the person she loved? Besides, she didn't have any dietary restrictions. She loved beef and cilantro, especially in the winter when she was eating hot pot. She would even use cilantro in the hot pot.

Think about it, some people don’t eat coriander, and some people don’t even eat onions. For example, my childhood friend, Xiao Mu, just doesn’t eat coriander.

In this way, when eating with Xiao Mu, there would be some taboos. Xiao Mu could not understand her joy of eating coriander, and she could not understand Xiao Mu's dislike of coriander.

Xu Xi felt a surge of joy in her heart, and a bright smile appeared on her face.

She leaned slightly towards Chen Shuning and told her in a light tone.

"You guessed right then."

When Chen Shuning heard these five words, she just pursed her lips and smiled, then picked up a piece of ginger and put it in the shopping cart.

After buying everything, Xu Xi drove to Chen Shuning's house.

When she got out of the car, she opened the trunk and wanted to take the two pots of jasmine, but Chen Shuning came over and picked up one of the pots.

"I'll get a basin."

Xu Xi saw Chen Shuning carrying vegetables in her hands, and now she had to help her carry a pot of jasmine flowers, which was very heavy. She didn't want the person she loved to carry heavy things, so she subconsciously took it and almost didn't give Chen Shuning a chance to refuse, and directly "grabbed" the pot of jasmine flowers.

Xu Xi: "You just carry the vegetables. There are two potted plants, one in each hand is just right for me."

Chen Shuning had a faint smile on his face. His eyes fell on the jasmine pot that had been snatched away. He looked at it for a few seconds before saying:

"Then let's go."

After entering Chen Shuning's house, Chen Shuning put the dishes in his hand into the kitchen, then came out and poured a glass of water for Xu Xi.

Xu Xi took the glass of water. "Thank you."

Chen Shuning also drank half a glass of water and prepared to turn around and go into the kitchen.

Seeing that she was getting busy, Xu Xi followed her into the kitchen and said to Chen Shuning enthusiastically:

"What do I need to do?"

"You..." Chen Shuning looked up at her. He had just forgotten that he wanted to teach Xu Xi how to cook. He almost told Xu Xi to just go out and wait.

Besides, they are guests after all.

Fortunately, I didn’t say anything.

After Chen Shuning realized what was happening, he said to Xu Xi, "You should take care of the shrimp."

"Oh, okay." Xu Xi agreed quickly. But...

How to prepare shrimp?

She had never made these things before, and her parents had never let her do them at home. It could be said that her parents only had her as a daughter, and they really spoiled her to the point that she couldn't even cook.

Usually when she returned home, she would help her parents with some small chores, such as peeling garlic and picking vegetables. Xu Xi had never done anything else.

Xu Xi blinked, staring at the shrimp in the sink, each packed separately in a small bowl. She felt a little embarrassed. Thank goodness for her parents, she had become a useless little person.

At this point, she had no other choice. Xu Xi glanced at Chen Shuning, who was now cutting beef.

Xu Xi awkwardly reached out and wanted to grab a shrimp to ask Chen Shuning what to do with it.

As a result, she accidentally got her hand pricked by the sharp spines of the shrimp head. Xu Xi pulled her hand back in pain and subconsciously made a "tsk" sound.

Chen Shuning heard the voice, turned around and looked at her, then put down the kitchen knife in his hand, turned around and took two steps towards her, and grabbed Xu Xi's hand anxiously.
