Chen Shuning smiled and said, "You don't have to remember it like this. I'll find the recipe I used before and give it to you when I get back."

Xu Xi then looked up in surprise, having actually forgotten about the recipe. She pursed her lips and smiled, then put her phone away.

"good."

After buying groceries, the two returned to Chen Shuning's apartment. As soon as Chen Shuning entered the house, he took a shower and changed into his home clothes. Then he prepared to put the rice in the pot and then teach Xu Xi how to cook.

Xu Xi sat in the living room, sipping the jasmine syrup Chen Shuning had just brewed for her, when she noticed a few books on the coffee table. They were the drawing guides Chen Shuning had bought the last time she and Chen Shuning ran into each other at the bookstore. Bored, she picked them up and casually flipped through them. Without noticing, something resembling a card floated out from the book.

Xu Xi thought it was a bookmark, so she reached out and picked up the small card on the ground. However, when she got it in her hand, she froze instantly. She was a little shocked, because this was not an ordinary bookmark, but a photo of her when she was in school, the photo she used to put on her school badge and library card.

How could her school photo be here with Chen Shuning? It was even made into a beautiful bookmark. This seemed a bit strange no matter how you thought about it.

The more Xu Xi thought about it, the more she felt that something was not right between her and Chen Shuning. Could it be that Chen Shuning knew her when they were studying? It shouldn't be the case. If Chen Shuning knew her, then why didn't Chen Shuning tell her after spending all these days together?

Just when Xu Xi was puzzled, Chen Shuning called her from the kitchen.

"I'm coming." Xu Xi's thoughts were interrupted and she walked towards the kitchen. She looked at Chen Shuning's back and couldn't help but wonder if there was any other reason for all this going so smoothly.

Chen Shuning turned around at this time. "Let me teach you how to prepare these ingredients and marinate them to make them flavorful."

Xu Xi blinked and said softly, "Okay."

She walked over. Now was not the time to think about this. She should prepare the meal first and then find an opportunity or talk about it after dinner. Xu Xi felt that since they were together, it would be better to speak out if there were any doubts in their hearts. It would be bad if there was something she didn't know that caused misunderstanding.

Xu Xi stood by and watched Chen Shuning take out all the ingredients, and prepared to roll up her sleeves to help wash the vegetables.

Xu Xi asked her casually, "Shuning, do you prefer to be alone?"

She asked this because she had been spending these days with her and hadn't seen Chen Shuning have any other friends, only her sister.

"Not bad." Chen Shuning lowered his eyes and watched Xu Xi wash the vegetables. "I usually go out with friends, but not often. How about you?"

"I... am more of a homebody." Xu Xi paused, slowly raised her eyes, and then smiled awkwardly.

"If you like going out, I can go out with you."

Chen Shuning smiled and said, "Okay."

After Xu Xi washed the vegetables, she saw that the half chicken had not been cut yet, so she took the initiative to ask her to cut it. Although she had never cut chicken or duck meat before, she had seen how others cut it. Since she wanted to learn, she had to learn it comprehensively. Xu Xi held the kitchen knife in her hand and said to Chen Shuning:

"Stay away from me first, or I'm worried I'll hit you later."

To be honest, this was her first time cutting muscles. It wasn't because she was afraid of not knowing how to do it, but she was just a little curious.

Then, the knife rose and fell, but Xu Xi didn't cut the chicken apart. After a few cuts, the meat was meat and the bones were bones. The meat had turned into minced meat, and the bones were scattered all over the place, which was a bit unbearable to look at.

Xu Xi turned around to look at Chen Shuning in embarrassment. Why was she different from what she had imagined?

Chen Shuning stood aside with an incredible expression on his face. How could someone chop the chicken into pieces like this? This is a kitchen killer.

She hurriedly stopped Xu Xi, saying that if she did it again, she would not be able to eat tonight's meal.

Chen Shuning: "Let me do it."

Xu Xi silently put down the knife, then stared at Chen Shuning blankly, feeling a little embarrassed. Her little heart was also hit hard. If she had known earlier, she would have learned more about cooking and helped more with housework with her parents when she was a child. In that case, she would not be so useless.

She said embarrassedly: "I'm sorry to trouble you."

Chen Shuning's tone was gentle, a bit soothing. "It's okay, I'll do it. You just watch from the side and learn how to do it later."

"Okay." That's all I can do.

Xu Xi stood by and watched Chen Shuning do it, but when she was free, she couldn't help but think about the photo that she had just seen in the living room that was made into a bookmark, and the same doubts came to her mind again.

Xu Xi blinked and couldn't help but ask Chen Shuning, "Shuning, we were classmates in junior high school, high school, and university. Have we ever met before?"

Chen Shuning didn't understand what Xu Xi was asking, so he answered casually. "I think so. I've probably seen him a lot on the street, but I just didn't recognize him before."

Xu Xi pursed her lips, hesitating whether to ask about the photo.
