After Chen Shuning took a day off to rest, the next morning, Xu Xi wanted Chen Shuning to take another day off.
She stood by the sink, hugging Chen Shuning from behind. "Ningning, please take another day off. Your injury isn't fully healed yet."
Chen Shuning looked at Xu Xi behind her in the mirror. Although her injury wasn't fully healed, it didn't affect her work. The work at hand was more important. She had just interviewed for a new job, and taking so many days off wouldn't be a good idea. Furthermore, she had a small plan for today that she didn't want Xu Xi to know about yet. Chen Shuning asked her softly, "Xixi, are you in the store now?"
Xu Xi: "Well, I'm almost done with my work and ready to go home. You're almost off work too, right? Do you want me to buy some groceries now so we can cook dinner together tonight?"
"No need." Chen Shuning pursed his lips and thought for a moment. "Don't rush back. I'll pick you up later. Just wait for me inside the store."
Xu Xi felt that there was something wrong with what Chen Shuning said, but at the same time, she felt that it was quite normal. Because Chen Shuning told her not to rush back, it seemed a bit strange.
