very good
Xu Xi never dreamed that one morning when she woke up, there would be someone waiting for her with breakfast prepared. This feeling made her feel so happy just thinking about it, but now it actually happened.
Chen Shuning is really becoming more and more popular.
Xu Xi blinked and replied, "Have some coffee."
"Okay." Chen Shuning walked to the dining table and said to Xu Xi, "Please sit down and have some breakfast first. I'll make coffee."
"Thanks."
Xu Xi nodded silently, watching her make coffee. She pulled up a chair at the dining table and sat down, mentally pondering what she wanted to say soon. She wondered how she could best get it out. If the outcome wasn't what she wanted, what else could she say to avoid awkwardness between them? As she pondered, her palms clenched tightly, sweat coating them.
Not long after, Chen Shuning finished making the coffee. She brought it over and gently placed a cup of coffee in front of Xu Xi.
Chen Shuning: "Taste it and see if it's sweet enough."
"Oh, okay."
Xu Xi pursed her lips slightly, lowered her eyes and stared at the coffee, thinking over and over in her heart which sentence she should say first, should she ask Chen Shuning if he likes girls, or should she directly express that she likes her.
She picked up the coffee and took a sip. Her hands, gripping the cup, had turned pale. She was very nervous, so she took a deep breath before speaking. "Shun Ning, I have something to tell you."
Chen Shuning was about to eat a sandwich when he heard Xu Xi say this and looked up at her. "What?"
Xu Xi and her looked into each other's eyes. The morning sun shone in, which was the kind of life she liked: having breakfast with the person she loved in the morning, relaxed and leisurely.
"I," Xu Xi blinked. She was about to ask Chen Shuning why she was so nice to her when they had only known each other for a short time. But before she could even ask, the doorbell rang.
Chen Shuning turned her head to glance at the door, frowning slightly. She turned back and said to Xu Xi, "I'll go take a look."
"Okay." Xu Xi breathed a sigh of relief. The tension in her heart suddenly seemed to dissipate. She watched Chen Shuning walk towards the door. She felt as if she was glad she hadn't asked, but also a little regretful that she hadn't. In this dilemma, she picked up her coffee and drank it all in one gulp, feeling a little relieved.
However, she finished her coffee and two minutes had passed. Chen Shuning had only gone to open the door, and she hadn't come back yet. Normally, if someone knocked on the door, they would have already come in if she had opened it.
Xu Xi looked towards the door in confusion, vaguely hearing the sound of two people talking. But out of courtesy, she didn't listen carefully, thinking that it was probably the courier or the neighbor who had something to tell her.
However, the next second, a girl rushed in and broke her "probably" idea. Things seemed not to be what she thought.
Xu Xi looked up at the sound and saw the girl walking in with big strides. Chen Shuning was chasing after her, trying to stop her, but failed. The girl was talking in a somewhat unfriendly tone. She glanced at Xu Xi, then frowned and turned to ask Chen Shuning:
"You really brought someone back?"
Chen Shuning's usually beautiful eyes had turned gloomy, and he seemed a little angry. "This is none of your business. It's none of your business."
"None of my business?" the girl sneered and took two steps back. "Okay. Very good."
As soon as the girl finished speaking, she threw the thing she was holding into Chen Shuning's hands. Xu Xi looked at the girl's actions in surprise and stood up, wanting to say something, but she didn't know what was going on. She was worried that if she said something, it would cause a deeper misunderstanding, which would be bad. After all, the current situation looked a bit like two lovers arguing... It seemed like that was how it was played in TV dramas.
So, in the end, Xu Xi just stood up, opened his mouth, but didn't say anything.
Then he saw the girl take two steps closer to Chen Shuning and said coldly, "How long do you think you can hold on?"
Chen Shuning didn't say anything, but after hearing this, his expression seemed to become even more resolute. It was like a silent confrontation.
After the girl finished her words, she turned and walked towards the entrance. Xu Xi saw her pick up something, and then the girl looked at Chen Shuning: "I've taken the car keys back. You'd better think clearly about what you are doing now."
Chen Shuning pursed her lips and said nothing. She turned her head slightly to look towards the entrance, but the girl had already slammed the door and left.
The air around them suddenly became very quiet. Xu Xi stood by the dining table, not knowing what to say or what to do.
