Chapter 65, Part 1: The Magical Maid

Chapter 65, Part 1: The Magical Maid

Yu Wanwan was awakened by a feeling of suffocation.

When she first woke up, she thought she had returned to that oxygen-deprived place in the underground city.

In an instant, she regained her senses.

The environment of the last century could never have caused her such suffering.

Yu Wanwan sat up abruptly, but a piercing pain caused her to fall back down.

She instinctively reached out and braced herself on the ground.

The instant my palm touched the ground, something unknown, like a shark smelling blood, burrowed into my flesh through my fingers.

"What is this thing?!"

Yu Wanwan instinctively raised her hand, trying to shake those things off.

But those things seemed to be everywhere; no matter where she swung her hand, she could touch them.

Yu Wanwan frowned, clutching her collar with one hand. She closed her eyes briefly, and when she opened them again, she finally saw what it was.

The forest, which was just shrouded in mist, is now filled with a thick, black fog.

The towering ancient trees were twisted and gnarled, like dying patients, their bark peeling away to reveal the rotten black veins inside.

The grass beneath them was all withered and emitted a rotten smell.

This is……

The dark elements of the magical world.

Yu Wanwan licked her lips, then decided not to dodge anymore and simply collapsed to the ground, giving up.

"...Aren't you going to struggle anymore?"

What's with all the struggling?!

Yu Wanwan was listless and too tired to even open her eyes.

Ah, the magical world!

This is at least a mid-level plane, unlike those low-level worlds without spirits.

She's just a pitiful little thing, completely out of her mind. What's she struggling for?

[...]

Daoguo remained silent.

There's no audience here, can she please stop being so dramatic?

It wasn't worried about Yu Wanwan at all, and heartlessly dumped the plot of this world onto her.

They stuffed it in and then ran.

Holy crap!

Yu Wanwan cursed.

But the plot had already begun, and she had no choice but to accept it.

Just as they were about to look through it, the black mist, which had been lying dormant, suddenly began to churn, growing faster and faster until it formed a huge vortex.

Yu Wanwan paused, then looked up.

In the center of the vortex, a huge horn slowly emerged, followed by scarlet compound eyes and thick, tall forehooves.

When the hoof landed, the ground trembled slightly.

"..."

Holy crap?!

This is a huge thing!

What did the original owner do to end up here?

Just as everyone was about to emerge from the vortex completely, Yu Wanwan sat up with a bitter face.

With just this one movement, her internal organs felt as if they were being corroded, and the pain distorted her face.

Catching her breath, Yu Wanwan didn't hesitate any longer. The straw bracelet on her wrist flashed with a stream of light and transformed into a short sword that landed in her hand.

She brandished the sword for a moment, and before the others arrived, without saying a word, she plunged it into her chest.

The large creatures seemed surprised that she would so decisively end her own life, their massive bodies frozen in place.

His scarlet compound eyes stared blankly at her bleeding chest, their gaze filled with confusion.

The next moment, it suddenly became alert, its front hooves pawing the ground restlessly, and it let out a harsh growl.

A gentle breeze swept through the forest, dispersing the thick, impenetrable black fog.

The withered flowers, grass, and fallen leaves on the ground were swept up by the wind and carried towards the woman lying on the ground, breathing weakly.

The large creature let out a low growl, its body enveloped in black mist, and bared its sharp fangs as it lunged at her.

The woman on the ground suddenly stood up.

Her face was radiant with a gentle smile, and she felt warm and full of vitality.

Yu Wanwan gripped the sword hilt, her expression unchanged, and drew the sword from her chest, swinging it at everyone.

"It stinks! Get away from me!"

A loud noise rang out, stirring up the calm black mist and sending streams of air exploding in all directions.

A few breaths later, the forest returned to silence.

"Cough cough cough..."

Yu Wanwan crawled out of the forest in a disheveled state, her face covered in dust.

After leaving the forest, the sun shone brightly outside, and birds sang sweetly amidst the fragrant flowers.

I found a spot with lots of flowers and plants and plopped down on it.

After she sat down, the flowers seemed to bloom more brightly, and the grass became even greener.

Unseen forces emanated from the flowers and plants, seeping into her body and repairing her internal injuries.

After resting for a while, Yu Wanwan began to check the plot.

This is indeed a magical world.

There is only one continent here, called Esos.

There are no elves or orcs here, only humans who practice magic and spirit beasts and magical beasts.

Magical elements are divided into several major elements: light, darkness, metal, wood, water, fire, earth, wind, and thunder.

It was no different from the magical worlds she knew.

Here, the element of light, being so rare yet possessing the power to heal and purify, is enshrined in the shrine.

Dark elements are too oppressive and have always been resisted and rejected.

The continent is jointly governed by imperial power, represented by the Empire, and divine power, represented by the Temple of Light.

The original owner, Violet, was a wood-type magician from a small mountain village.

Because of her exceptional talent in the wood element, she was able to assist the Light Mage in planting herbs and providing medical care, which led her to enter the Temple of Light as a maid. Her main duties were to take care of the priest's daily life and guard the herb garden.

She is meticulous and attentive in her work, and possesses a natural affinity characteristic of the wood element, which makes her highly regarded by the young priest.

But this high regard became her death warrant.

The saintess Liuguang in the temple deeply admires the priest and is extremely jealous of Vil. Relying on her status and power, she secretly suppresses Vil, making it difficult for her to move forward in the temple.

However, Violet was unwilling to bother the priestess with such trivial and sordid matters, and silently endured it, never clashing with the saintess.

Until this time, the saintess, in the name of a priestess, asked Vera to help him pick a Moonflower.

The Moon Soul Lotus is extremely rare, growing only at the boundary between light and darkness. It is an essential ingredient in potions that soothe the mental turmoil caused by elemental backlash.

As it happened, the priest had been researching this matter, so Vera had no doubts and went to search near the Forbidden Forest without any hesitation.

Just as she had finally found it after going through countless hardships and was about to pick it, she was pushed into the forbidden area.

She was just a wood-type mage, not good at fighting. Unsurprisingly, she was corrupted by dark elements, had no way to call for help, and eventually died from the corruption of dark elements. Even in death, she was still burdened with the crime of "entering a forbidden area and being seduced by darkness".

"..."

Yu Wanwan covered her forehead and sighed deeply.

Is this Violet from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? How can she endure so much?

Glazed light...

It's this bastard who made her look so pathetic as soon as she arrived!

Gritting her teeth, Yu Wanwan patiently continued reading.

When Xu Qingzhou transmigrated, it happened to be after Wei'er fell into the forbidden area. Despite Liu Guang's obstruction, he forcibly entered the forbidden area to rescue Wei'er.

After she came out, she collected evidence and gradually tore off the saintess's hypocritical mask, exposed her evil deeds to the public, expelled her from the Temple of Light, and cleared Violet's name.

But it was all too late. Violet had been corrupted by the dark elements for too long. Even though she survived, she became an ordinary person who could not use magic and lost her qualification to stay in the Temple of Light.

Even Xu Qingzhou couldn't do anything about it; he could only protect her secretly, provide her with assistance, and let her live out the rest of her life in peace.

Yu Wanwan blinked.

Unlike those previous scumbags who only realized their mistakes after betraying and scumbing the pitiful female supporting characters, leading to a miserable later life.

This priest was gentle, extremely upright, and exceptionally responsible.

But perhaps because he was taken to the Temple of Light at a young age and was exposed to kindness from childhood, this priest was highly skilled in magic, but in terms of human relationships, he was frighteningly naive.

He doesn't understand the complexity of human nature and distinguishes people by the purity of their elements.

The saintess's light element surged, and every time she secretly harmed Violet, she could easily make up a few flimsy excuses to deceive the priest.

It wasn't until Vera's death that he resolved to investigate thoroughly and finally discovered the saint's kind face but dark heart.

Possessing the purest element of light, yet engaging in such despicable acts, this situation deeply affected the priest.

He punished the saintess and then resigned from his priesthood, spending the rest of his life in regret and remorse.

The priest made a devout wish beneath the statue of the god of light, hoping for a chance to make amends for the mistake he made in his foolish naivety and to allow the girl who died tragically because of his negligence to die a natural death.

And so Xu Qingzhou arrived.

This time, Xu Qingzhou's original owner wasn't some scumbag.

That's truly rare.

However, none of this matters to her. No matter what kind of person Xu Qingzhou's original owner was, it doesn't affect her from getting revenge on the saintess who caused her such a humiliation!

In the solemn and sacred hall, a young man dressed in a pure white sacrificial robe knelt at the lower end, praying devoutly.

A warm aura surrounded him, which made his face appear peaceful and holy.

The man's long eyelashes trembled, and he slowly opened his eyes.

From an angle unseen by the attendant, his pupils contracted rapidly.

Forget about maintaining the original owner's pure and innocent persona, Xu Qingzhou cursed under his breath, lifted his robes, and ran outside.

"Priest?! Where are you going?!"

Xu Qingzhou had no time to respond to these servants.

He was new to the area and not yet proficient in using magic. He had only skimmed through the priest's memories and hadn't yet mastered advanced skills like teleportation, so he could only rely on elemental speed to run.

But thanks to the priest's own abilities, even so, the servants could not catch up with him.

I had just run into the garden when I bumped into someone.

"ah!"

This is a woman, wearing the same pure white sacrificial robe, only the pattern is different from his.

"Feel sorry."

Xu Qingzhou didn't even see who he bumped into. He subconsciously apologized and then continued walking with his head down.

She had only taken two steps when someone grabbed the hem of her dress.

He frowned, patiently pursed his lips, and looked down at the scene.

The woman who was knocked to the ground had a look of pity and worry in her eyes. Her voice was clear and calm, without any attempt to please, which made people feel comfortable.

"Where is Your Highness heading?"

Xu Qingzhou could barely suppress the disgust in her heart, and pulled her clothes back two steps.

This is Liuguang, the saintess of the Temple of Light.

"Find Violet."

At this moment, the Holy Maiden was still like a goddess in the eyes of outsiders, and he could not afford to break ties with her at this time.

Xu Qingzhou wasn't in the mood to deal with her; all he wanted to do was find Wei'er and rescue her!

But Liuguang didn't want him to leave like that.

Her eyes flickered, and with the help of her maid, she stood up and spoke with a hint of doubt.

"Didn't Violet say that the High Priest instructed her to go to the Forbidden Forest to pick Moon Soul Blossoms?"

As she spoke, she suddenly exclaimed, covered her mouth, and her face showed just the right amount of surprise.

"Could it be that the High Priest did not issue this decree to Vera? Then she..."
