Yuwen An did not speak.
Yuwen Yao remained silent.
On winter nights, the biting wind chills you to the bone, making your teeth ache and your bones feel cold.
Meanwhile, inside the Beirong Palace, the person who had suddenly appeared before Chuidamu and An Shangning smiled gently and said, "I'm here to help you."
"Help us?" An Shangning's face darkened as he looked at the person who had appeared before him. "You are Junior Brother Yi Shizi, what help do you have for us?"
The newcomer was Qi Rufeng. Upon hearing the voice, he smiled slightly. "That's right, I am Prince Yi's junior brother. We are both disciples who are now old and frail. I am also Li Qingyu's junior brother. Of course, Prince Zhuidasen and Miss Sai have probably heard that Prince Yi and I are not on friendly terms. So, let's be frank. My senior sister sent me to escort you out of the city. Tonight will be chaotic. Prince Zhuidasen and your fiancée would be better off leaving the capital as soon as possible. Otherwise, the flames of war will soon reach you."
"You'll help us?"
Zhuidamu is not someone who can be easily fooled.
Qi Rufeng smiled, "I'll help you." Qi Rufeng shook his head, "No, the prince is mistaken. I'm just helping my senior sister, and my senior sister is following the emperor's orders."
"Would the Emperor want to leave me?"
Zhuidamu was even more puzzled, and somewhat amused. If something were to happen to him in Beirong, that would be in accordance with the Emperor's wishes.
Qi Rufeng shrugged ignorantly. "His Majesty has important matters to attend to tonight and does not consider you or the little barbarian a threat. Believe it or not, it's up to you. Anyway, I've said what I needed to say. Farewell."
After saying this, Qi Rufeng turned around and quickly disappeared into the night.
Zhuidamu looked at An Shangning with a gloomy expression.
“Your Highness, I believe that Young Master Qi is right. Regardless of whether it is His Majesty’s will, leaving now is at least the best option for us.”
Hei Bu Shui stepped forward and advised.
“You just said you weren’t leaving,” An Shangning retorted.
The black cloth and water made him feel awkward.
"but……"
After pondering for a while, Chuidamu also said, "I also feel that something is not right. In any case, let's evacuate first."
“No, I disagree. I think there’s something wrong here.” An Shangning shook his head. “If this were true, Sister Lingqin would have sent someone to inform me immediately.”
“Miss Sai, even now you still believe in Xie Lingqin. Tonight in the main hall, she was only concerned with flirting with the Crown Prince and didn’t pay any attention to you.”
“If she didn’t come to inform me, there are only two possibilities: either something happened, or nothing happened at all, and it would be a mistake for us to leave.” An Shangning completely ignored Hei Bushui and looked straight at Zhuidamu. “Prince, I think we should stay.”
“No.” Zhuidamu looked at An Shangning. “I think Heibushui is right.”
An Shangning's eyes darkened, and just as he was about to say something, he saw a large fire suddenly rise into the sky from the direction of the west courtyard of the palace not far away.
"That is... the residence of the Crown Prince of Western Xia..."
"See, see, something really happened, hehehe..." Heibu Shui was actually quite smug as he said to Zhuidamu, "Prince, let's go quickly."
"No, it can't be..."
"Let's go." Zhuidamu grabbed An Shangning and said, "Let's go."
“I’m not leaving.” An Shangning refused. She felt uneasy, as if something was off tonight, but she couldn’t quite put her finger on it.
“Saya, don’t forget, your sister is still in my hands.”
Zhui Damu's threatening tone caused a dark undercurrent in An Shangning's eyes. In the end, she bit her lip and followed Zhui Damu's footsteps.
The group of people quickly headed towards the palace.
As I left, I could still hear a murmur of noise coming from the direction where the Crown Prince Xuanyuan lived.
Just after the group left the palace, they turned around and saw that the place where they had just been was also on fire.
Flames shot into the sky, and it seemed as if a single tongue of fire could instantly spread throughout the entire palace.
"Saya, it seems your sister Lingqin didn't inform you, huh?" Zhuidamu said mockingly from the shadows.
An Shangning ignored him, his expression fluctuating.
Meanwhile, at the General's Mansion.
Xie Lingqin naturally heard the commotion. Her expression shifted as she looked around the courtyard. Seeing that Tridacna had not yet returned, she instructed the usually capable maid to guard the house while she herself slipped out of the General's Mansion.
She has to go and take a look.
It was quiet all around, and there was no one there.
When Xie Lingqin arrived at the direction of the imperial palace, the fire was already under control. The Prefect of the Capital was still leading his men up and down the mountain, looking very serious. He was somewhat surprised to see Xie Lingqin.
"Miss Xie, what are you doing here?"
"I noticed something amiss here, so I came to check," Xie Lingqin said. "Are the Crown Prince of Western Xia, Zhuidamuzi, and his fiancée alright?"
The Prefect of the Capital glanced around before looking at Xie Lingqin, "Miss Xie, they...it seems they're all not here..."
"Not here?" Xie Lingqin looked doubtful. After thinking for a moment, she immediately turned around and quickly disappeared at the end of the street.
You can still hear the people talking about it.
"Could this be a celestial fire? The palace is burning down; this is extremely ominous."
"That's right, not just unlucky, this is extremely unlucky!"
"Hey, keep your voice down..."
"Do you think the Crown Prince of Western Xia and Prince Zhuidamu might die in the fire..."
"Shh! This is not something we should discuss."
As the sound faded into the distance, Xie Lingqin stepped aside, her face hardening with a serious expression.
"Xie Lingqin, where are you going?"
A familiar voice rang out from ahead.
Xie Lingqin frowned, her face grim, as she watched the person approaching from afar. "Yuwen Xian, what are you doing here?"
