Chapter 16 Don't kick the Crown Prince!

On the stool and small table used for chopping vegetables in the kitchen, there are two bowls of soup, but they taste different.

Xie Lingqin's bowl was fragrant and refreshing, while the Crown Prince's bowl was fiery and spicy.

Spicy food is the worst thing for a sick person.

However, Xie Lingqin deliberately made a spicy version for the Crown Prince.

Yuwen Yao glanced at it only once, his eyes unmoved, picked up his chopsticks, took a bite of food, and was about to put it in his mouth.

The maids and guards outside the kitchen, including Tingyu, had already dispersed.

However, what Tingfeng and the others, who were hiding in the shadows, saw was shocking.

This is so spicy, and the prince hasn't eaten all day; it's extremely bad for his stomach.

However, Yuwen Yao remained calm and composed, eating it without even flinching.

Chew slowly and carefully.

However, from beginning to end, his gaze remained fixed on Xie Lingqin, who was only focused on eating, his eyes never wavering.

The atmosphere suddenly became unusually quiet.

It seemed that apart from the soft sounds of chewing and the rising steam, there was nothing else to be heard.

Xie Lingqin finished the bowl of maocai (a type of Sichuan hot pot).

Yuwen Yao had already eaten half of his meal.

"As long as it's something you make for me, even if it's poison, I won't refuse it." Finally, as Xie Lingqin put down her chopsticks, Yuwen Yao spoke softly.

His voice was very soft, but his gaze toward Xie Lingqin was unusually heavy and powerful.

Those eyes reflected everything in the world, yet they held only her firmly in their gaze.

"Don't look at me like that, I'll think I'm going to die." Xie Lingqin broke the silence, which was also quite a mood killer.

Yuwen Yao's eyes narrowed, and he slowly put a slice of beef into his mouth with his chopsticks. The slice of beef was fiery red, covered in chili peppers. Just looking at it was enough to make one sweat, but Yuwen Yao looked at it as if it were his own treasure.

"Stop eating."

Before it could even be brought to her lips, Xie Lingqin raised her hand to stop her.

Yuwen Yao's phoenix eyes seemed to hold the sound of flowers blooming as he looked at her, "So, do you feel sorry for me now?"

"So, you weren't actually unwell, and you just lured me here using a trick?"

Xie Lingqin didn't answer but asked a question instead.

Their expressions were solemn.

Yuwen Yao lowered his gaze slightly, but did not reply.

Xie Lingqin suddenly stood up, her expression as cold as if frozen in ice.

"So, Yuwen Yao, you think it's fun to lie to me, right? Let me tell you, I don't like being lied to. I feel stupid. Besides, you didn't lie at all. You are the Crown Prince, the master of the entire Crown Prince's residence. If you were really unwell, everyone in this residence should treat you with utmost respect. But look at this kitchen, not even a bowl of porridge has been cooked for you. You're kidding me." Xie Lingqin's voice grew colder as she spoke.

Yuwen Yao's face stiffened, and his eyes returned to their coldness.

"You must have heard about what happened today. The death of the Minister of War's son and Xie Lingyu—yes, it was me. You weren't there in person, but I can tell you how heartbroken Li Qingyu was when she saw her brother's body."

Xie Lingqin sighed after saying this, "You once saved me, and I will never forget your kindness. If one day you need my help, I will repay your kindness." Xie Lingqin left after saying this.

"Xie Lingqin." Yuwen Yao called out to her, and picked up his chopsticks at the same time. "This is food you made for me yourself. I've said it before, even if it's poison, I'll eat it."

Xie Lingqin stopped in her tracks as she heard Yuwen Yao's voice again.

"I've said it before, you don't care about me, you don't have me in your heart, and no matter what I say, you won't believe me."

It was said in a heartbreaking tone.

Xie Lingqin's starry eyes were cold, and she didn't turn her head. "So, it's destined that we can't be together." Xie Lingqin finished speaking and continued walking.

"Bang."

I had just stepped out of the kitchen when I heard the sound of a body falling to the ground.

Xie Lingqin's body trembled, and she immediately turned around, her heart pounding wildly.

When Tingfeng and Tingyu appeared together, she had already quickly returned to the kitchen.

Yuwen Yao was seen lying on the ground.

His snow-white robes were stained with dust, and his face was pale.

"Crown Prince..."

"Crown Prince..."

"Yuwen Yao." Xie Lingqin walked over and kicked Yuwen Yao directly, her voice changing slightly, "Don't put on an act again."

"Miss Lingqin, our Crown Prince is indeed unwell."

Tingfeng was almost in tears.

Miss Lingqin is too cruel. The Crown Prince is already in such a state, and she still kicks him.

"Then what are you all standing there for? Hurry up and help them back to their rooms."

Xie Lingqin also helped, and together they supported Yuwen Yao. With Tingfeng's light-footed skill, they entered the main house in a few steps and placed Yuwen Yao on the bed.

What exactly happened to him?

Xie Lingqin asked while checking Yuwen Yao's breathing.

Tingfeng and Tingyu shook their heads at the same time. "We don't know. Since the Crown Prince returned from Miss Lingqin's place last night, he has not left the house. When we came today, the Crown Prince only said that he did not need to eat. Then, we felt that the Crown Prince's aura was not right, but the Crown Prince only said that he was unwell and did not allow us to get close."

"You guys are really..." Xie Lingqin waved her hand at them, "You guys go out first."

"Miss Lingqin, please stop kicking the Crown Prince..."

I'm really worried about what's going on.

However, Tingyu pushed him out of the room.

The door closed gently.

Xie Lingqin took out silver needles from her bosom and began to insert them.

This is a method I learned from Dong Cai, a way to urgently wake people up.

"Don't you know medicine? If you don't save yourself, you'll just let it rot away." Xie Lingqin muttered resentfully as she inserted needles.

About an hour later, Xie Lingqin wiped the sweat from her forehead and asked Tingfeng to have someone bring water to help Yuwen Yao wipe his face.

Of course, Xie Lingqin did this.

Tingfeng felt extremely distressed looking at Xie Lingqin's rough hands and feet. "Miss Lingqin, please be gentle. The Crown Prince is still not awake."

"Why don't you do it?" Xie Lingqin handed the handkerchief to Tingfeng.

Hearing this, he dared not, and immediately stepped back.

“I’ve never served anyone before. Besides, this isn’t heavy at all. I usually wash my face with this much force.” Xie Lingqin was also quite annoyed.

After the acupuncture, Yuwen Yao's complexion seemed better, but why wouldn't he wake up?

Xie Lingqin was staring intently at Yuwen Yao's face when she saw his dark, deep eyes move, and then gently open.

He stared at her intently.
