Xie Lingqin shook her head, "But His Majesty may only be guessing that Yu Qingyi will leave the city. If someone actually fights with Yu Qingyi after he leaves the city, wouldn't that be like trying to hide something obvious?"

Yuwen Yao nodded gently, his phoenix eyes filled with a smile. "If that day ever comes, will you protect me?"

As darkness fell, the wind blew in through the window.
The faint floral fragrance instantly dispelled the lingering, ambiguous atmosphere in the room, clearing their minds in a flash.
When Yuwen Yao looked back at Xie Lingqin, although his gaze held a deep and unyielding warmth, the intense heat that once made one's heart race and face flush had subsided somewhat.
