Xie Lingqin looked up at the sky, sunlight filtering through the rustling bamboo leaves overhead and casting dappled patterns.
She didn't know, nor could she be sure, whether someone was secretly manipulating or helping her when the Holy Maiden performed her magic at the Jingzhao Yin Mansion today. However, she had a strange feeling in her heart and wanted to go to the Jingzhao Yin Mansion to take another look. Before she even got close to the Jingzhao Yin Mansion, a voice, a thought, and a surge of spiritual energy filled her mind, guiding her here.
But all around was quiet.
Apart from the rustling of bamboo leaves in the autumn wind, it was so quiet that there wasn't a single human sound.
Xie Lingqin rubbed her arm, intending to head back home. Just as she was about to take a step, her brow furrowed, and the next moment, she immediately lay down, listening intently to the ground.
There was a slight tremor in the ground, indicating that many people were riding horses toward this place.

Lü Wu was holding her sword, looking wary of everything around her. Her gaze moved past where she was standing, but her face showed no extra expression.

This realization terrified Xie Lingqin. She looked at herself again and again, and found herself perfectly fine, showing no signs of death or separation of her soul.

She did manage to capture the scene: the peach blossoms were in full bloom, their beauty dazzling, a shower of pink petals falling. Yet, even as they landed on her and Xu Yiran, neither Xu Yiran nor Lü Wu showed the slightest reaction.
Could it really be haunted?
And this is in broad daylight!
But then, the sound behind them grew closer and closer.
Given how close they were, how could Xu Yiran and Lü Wu not have heard anything?
Xie Lingqin called out to Xu Yiran for a long time, but the two of them did not move an inch.
Finally, Xu Yiran opened his eyes and turned to look at Lü Wu. "Let's go."
