Chapter 85 Using a veiled insult to criticize

Xie Lingqin never expected to run into Yu Qingyi just by going out casually.

"Your Highness, inside are the eldest and second young ladies of my General's Mansion," the head guard reported from outside, upon hearing Yu Qingyi's inquiry.

Yu Qingyi, with her graceful and elegant demeanor, asked with great interest, "Oh, what brings you out of the city?"

"Reporting to Prince Yi, we will go out of the city to Xiaofahua Temple to pray for blessings."

"Isn't there a Dafahua Temple in the city? Can't we pray for blessings there?" Yu Qingyi frowned, very curious.

The guard didn't know how to answer and could only look into the carriage.

After a long while, Xie Lingyu's voice finally rang out.

"Your Highness, since it is a prayer for blessings, sincerity is required." The voice was gentle, and the tone was just right.

This young master Yi has always been arrogant and unpredictable; she can't afford to offend him.

"Oh, you're with Xie Lingqin?" Prince Yi raised an eyebrow and continued to ask, seemingly puzzled.

"Yes, that's right." Xie Lingyu replied again, not understanding what this Prince Yi meant by suddenly caring about Xie Lingqin. She glanced at Xie Lingqin and saw that she seemed even more ignorant than Xie Lingqin.

As Prince Yi nodded thoughtfully, a corner of the curtain was gently lifted, and he met Xie Lingqin's exceptionally cold eyes.

Your Highness, would you like to come with us?

Ha, why should I be with you? I'm out of town on business.

Oh, and I also have something to do with it. The Crown Prince couldn't bear to part with me, so he came all the way here to protect me.

Hey, you woman, you think too much.

After exchanging glances, Yu Qingyi raised an eyebrow, flicked his whip, and sped off, disappearing around the street corner in an instant.

Inside the carriage, Xie Lingqin smiled slightly and breathed a small sigh of relief.

She couldn't let Yu Qingyi cause trouble.

Meanwhile, glancing out of the corner of his eye, he saw that Xie Lingyu also breathed a sigh of relief.

That's true. Today, she did something that she couldn't let anyone know.

Prince Yi is no ordinary person; if he reveals even the slightest flaw, he will not escape punishment.

"What are you looking at, sister? Do you think the young master is concerned about you?"

Xie Lingyu looked at Xie Lingqin and felt that she had lifted the curtain just now because she wanted to see the Prince Yi's demeanor.

Xie Lingqin rolled her eyes at her. "Didn't you realize he was concerned about me?"

Xie Lingyu choked, then laughed sarcastically, "I say, Xie Lingqin, have you lost your mind lately, or are you just too overconfident? You, Prince Yi cares about you, why don't you say that the Crown Prince also wants to get close to you?"

Xie Lingqin frowned, as if pondering, "Hmm, that's possible."

Xie Lingyu snorted coldly, her eyes filled with hostility.

I thought Xie Lingqin was different from before, but now she's shamelessly spouting such big talk. She's really shameless.

"Who is the Crown Prince? Xie Lingqin, don't be so presumptuous." Every word Xie Lingyu spoke was full of contempt and insult.

Xie Lingqin remained calm and composed throughout, unfazed by honor or disgrace.

Xie Lingyu felt there was no point in arguing with her. In any case, Xie Lingqin's life was coming to an end soon anyway, so she chuckled and stopped talking.

From the city gate to Xiaofahua Temple, it is a main road, but there is a section of the main road that is covered by towering trees.

Therefore, if Xie Lingyu wants to make a move, that's the best place.

Sure enough, after only half an hour, a sudden change occurred. For some unknown reason, the carriage suddenly neighed and rushed forward out of control.

"Ah, the horse has gone mad, we can't control it!" the coachman shouted.

"Quick, stop them..."

Due to the sudden change, Xie Lingqin and Xie Lingyu inside the carriage were already swaying precariously.

"Quick, quick, tell the horses to stop."

Xie Lingyu shouted in a panic, "Quick, quick..."

"Miss, I'm here to save you."

In the midst of the chaos, Zihe, loyal to her master, jumped on the horse and, together with the coachman, tried to get it to stop.

However, the horse not only didn't stop, but instead ran even faster, as if it were throwing a tantrum.

In no time, they had shaken off the coachman and the guards who were trying to rescue him, and ran further and further away.

The guards and maids stood there dumbfounded, unable to help, because in the blink of an eye, the carriage had already disappeared.

The carriage, which had been galloping wildly for a long time, finally came to a stop.

All around, the leaves rustled in the wind, yet there was an unusual stillness.

"Miss..." Zihe's voice trembled as she called softly, then she quickly lifted the curtain and helped Xie Lingqin down from the carriage.

Xie Lingyu straightened her clothes and looked at Xie Lingqin's back with a strange expression.

"Xie Lingyu, this horse has gone mad and it's not safe. I'm going to walk back. Do you want to come too?" Xie Lingqin said rather rudely to Xie Lingyu, who was slowly getting out of the carriage.

His face clearly showed lingering fear.

"Don't worry, I'm fine, but I wonder who will be in trouble in a little while."

"What do you mean?" Xie Lingqin looked at Xie Lingyu with a surprised expression, as if she didn't understand.

"What do you mean?" Xie Lingyu made no attempt to hide her feelings at this point. "You'll find out soon enough."

All around was quiet, with a gentle breeze rustling through the bamboo grove.

However, strangely enough, just as Xie Lingyu finished speaking, ten tall men with murderous intent appeared out of thin air and blocked the carriage.

"It's her. Make your move." Xie Lingyu, in an instant, acted like a superior issuing orders, giving a command to those people before stepping aside.

Only Xie Lingqin and Zihe remained in the center of the crowd, looking nervous and puzzled.

"Xie Lingqin, today is your death day." Seeing Xie Lingqin like this, Xie Lingyu was extremely pleased. Her cold voice rang out and was carried to her ears by the wind.
