"Oh." The crown prince nodded, as if he understood.
Xie Lingqin breathed a sigh of relief.
No matter how smart you are, ancient times didn't have the same level of scientific literacy as modern times.
“However, I happen to have heard of a word before.” The Crown Prince pondered for a moment, then suddenly looked at Xie Lingqin with a smile.
Xie Lingqin instinctively became alert, her expression tightening. "What?"
"Scream, and you'll die from exhaustion."
Xie Lingqin's face instantly turned into a riot of colors.
In other words, the prince knew and understood everything that she had done just now—her self-righteousness and her attempt to show off her limited knowledge.
I understand perfectly.
"Whoosh." Xie Lingqin had just nodded when a hand suddenly appeared in front of her. The hand was long and slender, like jade, and quite beautiful.
Then, that beautiful hand...
But it landed swiftly on her belt, and with a gentle tug, the belt loosened, and her outer garment followed suit...
Almost instinctively, Xie Lingqin swung the teapot in her hand in anger, but nothing happened.
The teapot was firmly grasped in that long, beautiful hand, and the man calmly looked up at her, asking, "Do you intend to assassinate me?"
Of course, I really want to.
Xie Lingqin gritted her teeth, her eyes filled with an internal struggle.
The Crown Prince's slightly upturned phoenix eyes then shifted slightly downwards, gesturing for Xie Lingqin to look at her waist.
Xie Lingqin stared coldly at her, and upon seeing that, she almost couldn't catch her breath.
The belt that the Crown Prince had just torn open was now perfectly fastened, and her clothes were not loose at all.
What the heck is this?
The Crown Prince's skills were so refined that just as Ling Qin was about to smash him, everything had already returned to normal.
The prince ignored her, flicked the teapot in his hand with his fingertips, and put it down without spilling a drop of tea.
“Look, I just untied your belt, but then I tied it back up for you, and yet you’re still very angry.”
wipe!
Xie Lingqin understood.
The prince in front of her was using this method as a metaphor to satirize her acts of stealing medicine and cotton cloth.
Why is this crown prince so shameless?
Xie Lingqin frowned and gritted her teeth, but could only retreat and sit down, still seething with resentment.
She came to beg him.
She hasn't forgotten this.
"You can't beat me, you can't argue with me, and you can't fight me, so don't be so presumptuous in front of me anymore." As Yuwen Yao spoke, he raised his hand to the side, "Tea."
Tea?
Xie Lingqin was about to burst into tears. She got up again, held her breath, poured a cup for the Crown Prince, and respectfully handed it over, saying, "Your Highness, please."
"Keep a smile on your face."
"Please, Your Highness." Xie Lingqin smiled, her pearly teeth gleaming, her smile deep and penetrating.
The contrast is too great.
The Crown Prince glanced at Xie Lingqin, then at the cup of tea in her hand, and his gaze suddenly fell on Xie Lingqin's fingertips.
There were slight scratches on her fair fingertips.
Was he going up the mountain to gather herbs? Or did he do something else?
"Hmm." Without thinking further, the Crown Prince took the bottle, sipped it lightly, and then elegantly set it down, tapping his fingers lightly on the table. "Tell me, how do you want me to help you?"
Hearing this, Xie Lingqin breathed a sigh of relief; finally, they were back to the main topic.
"This matter involves the Seventh Princess. I wonder if the Crown Prince will have any reservations?" Xie Lingqin needed to find out first.
The Crown Prince's gaze shifted slightly in the deep shadows, landing on Xie Lingqin.
That glance was unfathomable.
This caused even the battle-hardened Xie Lingqin to tremble in her heart.
"Since you've thought of seeking refuge with me, you must already know that I have no connection with the Seventh Princess. So, don't try to be clever in front of me."
"Then, Your Highness, do you really think the Seventh Princess is such an innocent victim?" Xie Lingqin asked again.
"What does this have to do with me?" With a question in return, Xie Lingqin breathed a sigh of relief before replying, "Well, this humble woman thinks..."
"You may call yourself 'I'."
"I asked the Crown Prince for help to persuade the Seventh Princess to leave the palace on her own initiative."
"Do you think that by letting her leave the palace, you can find a flaw and turn the tide for the Zong government?"
"There's no need for the Crown Prince to worry about this; I have my own methods," Xie Lingqin said confidently.
Yuwen Yao glanced at her, his eyelids twitching slightly. "Oh?"
"And..." Xie Lingqin felt a little guilty looking at the Crown Prince's arrogant and domineering demeanor.
I don't like people who are hesitant and indecisive.
“My father is probably going to betroth me to the eldest son of the Minister of Works.”
Yuwen Yao glanced at her and nodded slightly. "Oh, a handsome man and a beautiful woman, quite nice."
Screw your "perfect match" nonsense.
"Since the Crown Prince helped me, he certainly won't do it for nothing. If I were to marry him like this, it wouldn't be of any help to the Crown Prince. So, I'm doing this for the Crown Prince's sake." Xie Lingqin began to speak shamelessly.
Anyway, this crown prince isn't a good person either.
Yuwen Yao fiddled with the exquisite white jade porcelain cup in his hand; his slender fingers were like a painting.
Xie Lingqin quickly looked away.
"Then, I'll make sure that the legitimate son can't marry you, how about that?" The Crown Prince looked at her.
Xie Lingqin was very satisfied and smiled slightly as she bowed, "Then thank you, Your Highness."
"Refund it."
"besides?"
Xie Lingqin continued.
On Yuwen Yao's handsome face, his sword-like eyebrows furrowed noticeably. "Couldn't you have just said it all in one sentence?"
What do you mean by "completely collapsed"? You think that's nonsense?
"Yes, it's quite obvious now, as you know, that I'm out of favor and not doing well in the General's Mansion. I could be used as a pawn, discarded at any time. Um, could you perhaps ask the Crown Prince..."
"Do you need me to pronounce it clearly for you all at once?"
"I want the Crown Prince to take some time to visit the General's Mansion and see me at the Clear Water Pavilion. Tell him that after he escorted me home that night, he thought I was a good person, very good, very good, and that he appreciated me a lot. That's all."
