Chapter Ninety-Three: So this is what you're like, Miss!

The second concubine, who had finally thought she could outmaneuver Xie Lingqin today, changed her expression drastically upon hearing these words.

How can we thoroughly investigate everyone in this mansion? Because of Xie Lingqin's mother, General Xie is extremely wary of having too many relatives or friends in this mansion.

However, ever since she entered the General's Mansion, she couldn't possibly be without help. Not to mention the other courtyards, in her own courtyard, many were related by nepotism, and most of them used her name to do shameful things. As long as the matter wasn't serious, she would turn a blind eye.

Now...

The second concubine had no way to express her bitterness; she hadn't killed Zihe, but instead...

The key point is that, in order to ensure the plan went smoothly, she followed the general's orders and only sent two servants out first. So, she didn't know whether they actually wanted to take advantage of Zihe.

Aunt Wan stood beside General Xie from beginning to end, watching Xie Lingqin's departing figure, her heart filled with turmoil.

It was clearly a dead end, and with General Xie's obvious assistance, Xie Lingqin had no chance of turning the tide. However, she not only broke the dead end but also caused the Second Aunt to suffer a setback.

This thought...

It's too deep.

Aunt Wan did not believe that Xie Lingqin knew about this scene in advance.

It is precisely because it is impossible to know that someone could handle things so skillfully that it is truly astonishing.

Qingshui Pavilion.

As soon as she entered the house, Xie Lingqin went straight to the inner room.

Zihe, unaware of what was going on, immediately followed. As soon as she entered the room, she knelt heavily before Xie Lingqin and said, "Thank you for saving me today, Miss. It was my negligence. Miss repeatedly told me to be careful, but I still almost fell into their trap."

Xie Lingqin had already come out of the inner room, holding a small jade-green porcelain bottle in her hand. She looked at her and said, "Get up, I'll help you apply the medicine."

Zihe was stunned. She thought her mistress was angry, but it turned out that her mistress came in so quickly to get her medicine.

Zihe could no longer stand up, feeling even more guilty and defeated. "It was my carelessness. Fortunately, Second Madam wasn't there at the time and didn't see it with her own eyes, which is why I was allowed to speak. I don't care about my life or death, but it's Miss's situation that matters..."

Xie Lingqin couldn't stand it anymore. She rubbed her temples and then said, "Today, we faced one danger after another and won by the skin of our teeth. Just be more careful in the future. Get up now."

Zihe thought for a moment before getting up, her face full of worry. "It seems the General and Second Aunt are already on the same side..."

Xie Lingqin suddenly sneered, clearly puzzled as well, "I wonder what Second Aunt said to General Xie that made him suspicious of me and thus target you. Fortunately, you cooperated very well."

"It is thanks to Miss's excellent guidance."

"Come on, let me apply the medicine to your arm," Xie Lingqin instructed.

Zihe shook her head, "I can heal myself from my own injuries. Besides, there's still the giant clam shell."

Xie Lingqin nodded and immediately instructed Tridacna to come in and help.

Tridacna had naturally heard about what had just happened, but she didn't say much, only carefully applying medicine to Zihe.

Xie Lingqin glanced at the deep teeth marks on Zihe's arm, a cold glint in her eyes, and said in a clear, icy tone, "Given General Xie's shrewdness, a little thought is all it takes for him to realize we're playing a ruse, so..."

A look of confusion gradually appeared on Xie Lingqin's face. After a moment, she gave Zihe and Chequ a meaningful smile, "However, now that the manor is conducting a thorough investigation of all the servants, um... you two should think about it. Whoever has been unkind or unfriendly to you, or who is waiting to see our Qingshui Pavilion make a fool of itself, you can take some action against them."

Zihe instantly understood Xie Lingqin's meaning. "Don't worry, Miss."

The giant clam blinked, surprisingly excited, "Really?"

Xie Lingqin glanced at her and smiled, "Why not?"

The next day.

Early in the morning, nearly twenty servants and maids stood in a row in the front courtyard of the general's mansion.

Everyone was carrying a bundle, their faces grim, as if they had lost their parents.

"Alright, I've given you an extra month's allowance. Now you can all leave." The middle-aged woman in charge waved her hand and gave the order. Only then did these people realize that there was no hope, and they turned around dejectedly.

However, some people are still unwilling to accept this.

"I am my second aunt's distant nephew. You must have made a mistake."

"Shut up! Second Aunt has always treated you well, but who told you to cause trouble outside all the time? We didn't know until we investigated, and now we find out how many things you've done! What are you doing here making a scene?" The old woman immediately stepped forward and scolded her.

Every word and phrase conveyed the meaning, and the man, being intelligent, understood it. He immediately touched his face and then knelt down on the ground with a thud.

"Auntie, it's my fault, I've dragged you into this."

"Alright, let's go home now."

With everyone gone, the front yard suddenly became empty.

"Aunt Wan, you are pregnant now and your body is heavy. Let this old servant take care of these matters. You should go and rest," the old nanny said to Aunt Wan, who was sitting behind her.

The tone was humble, but there was no politeness or friendliness, and the eyes were held high, clearly showing that she didn't take Aunt Wan seriously.

Aunt Wan glanced at her, said nothing, and had her maid help her downstairs.

The old woman looked at Aunt Wan's retreating figure with a haughty expression. "Hmph, she's only gained status because of her son. Ten months of pregnancy is a long way off. Fortunately, she knows her place."

In the shadows, a figure hidden behind the flower branches flashed and quickly headed towards Qingshui Pavilion.

It was the Purple River.

"Miss, just as you predicted, Second Aunt is really good at handling people. She dismissed all those people, so it probably won't shake her position in the General's heart."

"Hmm..." Xie Lingqin gently put down her teacup, her expression calm and her eyes clear. "I didn't intend to shake her position in my father's heart."
