Chapter Ninety-Three: So this is what you're like, Miss!

"What happened?" Xie Lingqin tightened her grip, and behind her, General Xie also came out of the study.

"Just now, I asked Zihe to go to Aunt Wan's place to get the clothes that the General had made for the Eldest Miss, and then I went off. But just now, halfway there, Zihe suddenly went mad and injured two of the family's servants." The middle-aged nanny looked worried.

"Take me to see." General Xie strode out from behind Xie Lingqin, glanced at her, and then led his guards outside.

As Xie Lingqin watched General Xie and the guard's retreating figures, a sudden unease stirred within her, as if something was surfacing. She then followed them.

The bodyguard following behind General Xie took a few steps, then seemed to sense something was amiss and immediately turned around. However, apart from the young lady with a worried expression walking slightly faster, there was nothing unusual behind him.

However, just now I clearly felt a chill, like a thorn in my back.

"Guard Ming, is there something you want to tell me?" Xie Lingqin asked, seemingly unaware of what was going on, as she lifted her skirt and stepped forward.

The guard was taken aback upon hearing this, immediately shook his head, and then followed General Xie's footsteps.

When Xie Lingqin arrived at the front yard, Zihe had already fainted on the ground, clutching a sharp, fist-sized stone in her hand. There was blood on the stone, and two servants were trembling with their arms clenched.

Both servants had injured arms, and the wounds were so neat. When they saw General Xie arrive, their eyes looked panicked, but they were clearly looking for credit.

This is ridiculous.

"Master, look..." The second concubine, seeing General Xie arrive, led her people out from behind the artificial hill, pointing to the scene before her with lingering fear, "That was truly terrifying."

General Xie was clearly enraged upon seeing this, and his gaze suddenly turned to Xie Lingqin, "Is this maid insane?"

With that angry tone and the second concubine's seemingly panicked but actually smug look in her eyes, Xie Lingqin understood everything.

He summoned her to his study, speaking earnestly and probing her step by step, but his real purpose was to remove Zihe from her side and cripple her.

If you can't kill her, start by targeting those around her. That's just like the Second Concubine's style.

But what exactly did the second concubine say that made General Xie not only want to marry her off immediately, but also accompany her to perform this play?

However, there's something Second Auntie might have forgotten.

At this moment, Aunt Wan arrived hurriedly, supported by her maid. Seeing the scene before her, she had obviously heard what had happened. Not wanting to say anything openly, she tried to subtly signal to Xie Lingqin that she was innocent and that this was not her doing.

Xie Lingqin knew, of course, that this nanny was clearly the second concubine's person. After signaling to Aunt Wan to calm down, Xie Lingqin looked at General Xie with a puzzled expression. "Father, I didn't know. This maid was found by the second concubine. She has always been obedient and peaceful. I haven't heard of her having any mental illness." Xie Lingqin looked completely bewildered.

"Young Miss, this person is a good one, but isn't he the one you've been using all along?" Second Aunt didn't want to be implicated.

Xie Lingqin looked at her second aunt without fear or panic, and did not answer.

General Xie's gaze swept over Xie Lingqin from beginning to end, not missing a single expression of hers.

That was an examination, a test. Xie Lingqin believed that as long as she pleaded for Zihe's life, Zihe would surely die.

Seeing that Xie Lingqin did not react for a long time, General Xie waved his hand and said, "Since that's the case, someone, throw this maid out and quickly have someone treat their injuries."

"yes."

"Father, wait a moment," Xie Lingqin suddenly called out to stop him.

General Xie suddenly looked at Xie Lingqin. Although the glance was fleeting, Xie Lingqin still saw a hint of doubt and sternness in his eyes.

"Are you going to plead for her?"

"No..." Xie Lingqin's expression was calm, her eyes clear and bright. "This girl is insane and hurts people randomly, so she can't be kept. However, Father, you said that all the maids in the manor are strictly screened before they come in. How could Second Madam make such a low-level mistake? Could there be something wrong with this?" Xie Lingqin spoke with utmost seriousness.

A glint flashed in General Xie's eyes as he glanced at his second aunt and said slowly, "Perhaps, something went wrong."

Is there a mistake?

Oh!

“Father, this is precisely the mistake. I think, just in case, we should thoroughly investigate the entire General's Mansion, inside and out. It wouldn't be good if someone with malicious intent managed to infiltrate.” Xie Lingqin finished speaking, and seeing that General Xie seemed to have taken her words to heart, she stopped abruptly, her gaze falling on the still unconscious Zihe on the ground. “Sigh, this girl…”

Xie Lingqin sighed helplessly, waved her hand at the old woman from before, and said, "Old woman, thank you for your trouble." After saying that, she made as if to leave.

This scene drew the attention of the maids and servants gathered in the courtyard.

Throughout history, even if masters dislike their maids and servants, they always maintain a facade in public, whether genuine or feigned. But this young lady, usually so gentle and weak, is now... so cold-blooded and indifferent.

At least plead a few words for them.

General Xie, seeing Xie Lingqin's reaction, visibly breathed a sigh of relief.

"Father, then I'll take my leave." Then, under everyone's watchful eyes, Xie Lingqin turned to leave.

"Cough cough..." He had only taken two steps when he heard a coughing sound behind him.

"General, this girl... she's awake." At this moment, the second concubine's voice, tinged with panic, came from the side.

Xie Lingqin, however, was very perceptive and interpreted the pause in her second aunt's voice as "actually."
