Xie Lingqin and Zihe had only taken a few steps when they were stopped by someone.
"This servant greets the Crown Prince."
Zihe pays her respects.
Xie Lingqin, however, stubbornly refused to budge.
"Don't go looking for trouble."
The words spoken in that cold, wicked, and alluring voice carried an innate sense of intimidation.
Xie Lingqin lowered her eyes slightly, "This humble woman does not understand the Crown Prince's meaning."
"Stop pretending in front of me. You call yourself a subject, but I have never seen you be truly humble."
The Crown Prince's single sentence tore away Xie Lingqin's hypocritical facade.
Xie Lingqin's face twitched, but her voice remained clear and melodious, "Alright, Your Highness, speak your mind, or shut up."
The prince's expression remained unchanged, but he felt as if the surrounding scenery was trembling.
Zihe's expression also changed...
Miss, this is the Crown Prince.
"It was the Crown Prince who told me to say it." Xie Lingqin raised her small face slightly, her innocence perfectly appropriate.
Anyway, she couldn't beat them, she couldn't win, and she was constantly being defeated and trampled on.
It's not unreasonable to try and get some interest from your words.
"You're good with words, but besides stealing and extorting, that's about all you're good for," the Crown Prince said sarcastically.
Xie Lingqin...
"Then I won't disturb Your Highness's enjoyment of the flowers." Xie Lingqin suppressed her temper and walked past the Crown Prince.
Although Zihe followed in small steps, she secretly tugged at Xie Lingqin's sleeve and whispered a reminder.
"Miss, the Crown Prince said that going there would only bring trouble upon yourself, you..."
"I just love to create trouble for myself."
Xie Lingqin remained composed and walked straight ahead.
Zihe resignedly followed.
As for Crown Prince Yuwen Yao, a cool breeze ruffled his robes, his long eyebrows furrowed slightly, and his eyes were cold and aloof.
"Your Highness, should I go and knock Miss Xie unconscious?" A plump young man suddenly appeared in the air with a grin.
"Knock him out?" The crown prince glanced at him. "He should just be killed."
"Ah! Then this subordinate..."
Tingfeng grabbed him and pulled him back, saying, "Use your brain."
"oh!"
...
Xie Lingqin and Zihe hadn't walked far when they saw a scene of arguing.
In the pavilion on the water, An Shangning was rudely twisting the collar of a handsome and dignified man, her face clearly showing anger. Beside her, the maid and the page stood there trembling, not knowing whether to go forward or retreat.
"Li Junru, you bastard."
"Fourth Miss, please watch your words. You can't have me, and you still want to be so violent? Do you really want to disgrace the Marquis's mansion?"
"Why don't you just die? You actually said that I stole your ancestral jade pendant because I secretly loved you and longed for you."
An Shangning was clearly furious; her small face was gloomy.
Not far away, Zihe frowned and looked at Xie Lingqin, "Miss, this..."
What happened?
Xie Lingqin, however, had already walked over leisurely and asked softly.
Upon seeing Xie Lingqin appear, An Shangning felt as if he had found his pillar of support. "Sister Lingqin, this Li Junru is truly a hypocrite. He falsely accused me of having a crush on him, being unable to win his affections, and even stealing his jade pendant to remember him. He said that if I didn't hand it over, he would have people search the place."
An Shangning grew increasingly angry as she spoke, "Does he think I, An Shangning, am unable to get married?"
Xie Lingqin frowned thoughtfully as she stepped forward, her tone both cool and gentle, "Shang Ning, please release Young Master Li first. Look, there's a lake right behind us. What if he accidentally falls in..."
"Huh, what's going on?"
Suddenly, a male voice interrupted Xie Lingqin.
Xie Lingqin's lips twitched slightly; she was in a bad mood.
Liu Yunzhou.
Li Junru remained calm, taking the opportunity to step back and straighten his clothes with an air of seriousness. He looked at Xie Lingqin, clearly having thought about it for a while, before his gaze fell on Liu Yunzhou who was approaching. "Brother Liu, you've come at the right time. The Fourth Miss took my jade pendant and won't give it back to me. You be the judge."
"Let's go." Xie Lingqin took the opportunity to pull An Shangning's hand and leave.
"Wait a minute."
Li Junru blocked their way with his hand. The man was seven feet tall, immediately casting a shadow over Xie Lingqin and An Shangning.
An Shangning was so angry that she stepped forward to argue, but Xie Lingqin quickly pulled her back.
Upon hearing this, Liu Yunzhou looked at An Shangning and then at Xie Lingqin, hesitated for a moment, and said, "Well, a woman's reputation is of utmost importance. Why don't you go back to your room and look for her, Miss An?"
A cautious, careful, and gentle tone.
But not a single word of it was pleasant to listen to.
Pedantic and rigid.
Leaving aside Xie Lingxin, a modern person, even An Shang, an ancient person, was instantly enraged, glaring at Liu Yunzhou, "You...you..."
After all that talk, I was speechless with anger.
"Young Master Liu, are you blind? Did you dream that An Shangning coveted Young Master Li? And what makes you think that Young Master Li has such good looks that someone would covet him?" Xie Lingqin asked calmly and deliberately.
Every word was proper and polite, yet every word rendered the two of them utterly worthless and insignificant.
Liu Yunzhou...
Li Junru...
This young lady from the general's mansion is so eloquent.
A glint of malice flashed in Li Junru's eyes. He glanced into the shadows, seemingly impatient, and immediately stepped forward, "An Shangning..."
"Ah, what are you trying to do? You actually intend to commit a lewd act?"
Xie Lingqin suddenly cried out excitedly and immediately raised her hand to pull him.
Zihe, standing to the side, naturally stepped forward.
Seeing this, Liu Yunzhou also stepped forward to offer his advice.
very good.
Secretly, Xie Lingqin gave a subtle signal to Zihe.
Then……
"Thump."
Li Junru spectacularly fell into the water.
Liu Yunzhou's expression changed drastically, and his pageboy rushed up nervously.
