Chapter 346: Getting Rich Overnight

Chapter 346: Getting Rich Overnight

After hearing this, Wen Wan felt a little better.

Unexpectedly, his next sentence scared her so much that she almost fainted.

He smiled and said, "I run the business under the name of Madam Wen, so the big boss behind the Wen family is you."

What does it feel like to suddenly become rich?

After Wen Wan experienced it personally, she could only describe it in four words.

Feeling like dying of ecstasy.

At first, she thought she had misheard.

But when she thought about it carefully, she remembered that when she was in Taohua Town, she lived under the name of Wen Niangzi.

Wen, pronounced the same as "Wen", was just a random surname she gave herself to deceive others.

The world is so big and there are so many people with the same surname, so she could not connect the wealthy Wen family business with herself.

Now that Shen Yu said this, she suddenly understood.

"Why do you want to go into business instead of being a general?" Wen Wan was a little puzzled.

Shen Yu looked at her with an increasingly strange look in his eyes, “Come to think of it, this matter is still your credit.”

Wen Wan showed a confused expression.

Shen Yu whispered, "Do you still remember the women and children from the caravan you rescued in the border town?"

Wen Wan nodded. "I remember. I left in a hurry and didn't say goodbye to them properly. I don't know how they are doing now. I still remember that there were two ladies and a half-grown boy in the caravan. He was very good at business..."

At this point, she looked up in shock and asked, "Is this the business they established?"

"Yes," Chen Yu replied, "they later came to me and said they wanted to expand their business and needed some working capital. So I asked someone to withdraw some money for them in your name. I didn't expect them to do anything great, just to be able to support their family."

"Who would have thought that a year later, they would have expanded their business to cover most of the country. When I heard the news, I was just as surprised as you."

He coughed lightly twice. "Although I helped them a few times when they encountered business difficulties, it was mainly their efforts that contributed the most. I, the head of the family, also benefited from your help. It's just a title."

After the whole story was explained clearly, Wen Wan drank half a pot of cold tea in one breath before she calmed down her excitement.

She blinked and pointed at her nose. "So, I'm a billionaire now?"

"Hundreds of millions?" Shen Yu was unfamiliar with this quantifier, but it did not affect his understanding of the meaning of this sentence.

He patted her head lovingly, "Well, you now own six hundred shops in Duan Dynasty, making a fortune every day is no problem."

Wen Wan: “…”

Logically speaking, after hearing so many shocking news in a row, people would be so excited that they couldn't sleep.

But when the matter fell on Wen Wan, she miraculously slept well.

She also had a dream. In the dream, she returned to modern society and was sitting on a chair counting money. Countless red bills filled the entire room. She laughed so hard that her body shook. After counting one pile, she continued to count the next.

Just as she was about to finish counting, she looked up and found that the surrounding environment had changed. She was sitting behind the bank counter and had become a bank employee.

It turned out that the money she counted was not her own money, but money counted for the rich woman who came to withdraw money.

"It's not my money, it's not my..."

Wen Wan struggled to open her eyes, her eyes full of resentment.

Shen Yu was sleeping beside her. When he turned around, he saw her staring at the ceiling angrily, her cheeks puffed with anger.

He smiled and poked her cheek with his finger, "What's wrong? Can you be so angry just by dreaming?"

Wen Wan glared at him fiercely, "The greatest sorrow in life is counting money until your hands cramp, only to find out you were counting money for someone else."

Wen Wan, who dreamed of getting rich, was so angry when she thought of this dream that she grabbed Shen Yu's arm and bit it.

Shen Yu frowned and didn't dare to move, for fear that a strong move would break her teeth.

After she vented her anger and opened her mouth, he spoke softly, "It's just a dream. Be good, don't be angry. If you want to count the money, I'll take you back to the Wen's Bank. There's still a lot of cash in the warehouse. You can count it as long as you want. It's all yours."

Wen Wan: “???”

She was so shocked that she couldn't close her mouth and looked at him eagerly.

"Can you say that again?"

Shen Yu was amused by her money-grubber look, but he still patiently repeated what he had just said.

Wen Wan slapped her forehead and exclaimed, "So, I wasn't dreaming last night. I really am the head of the Wen family business?"

"Absolutely true."

Shen Yu smiled and stood up, lifted the quilt and got out of bed.

He walked to the door and turned back to say, "Master, wait a minute. I'll get you some water to wash your face."

The door opened and closed again.

Wen Wan rolled happily on the bed holding the quilt.

When Shen Yu came back, he saw the petite woman sitting by the bed happily combing her hair.

"Are you so happy?" Shen Yu put the basin on the shelf and wrung the handkerchief for her and handed it to her.

He did these tasks surprisingly efficiently and didn't act like a general at all.

Wen Wan smiled as she washed her face, "You don't understand. Young people like you who haven't experienced the harshness of society won't understand the lives of those of us who work so hard in the workplace just to make money."

Shen Yu really didn't understand, even many of her words sounded unfamiliar.

Wen Wan had just finished washing her face when someone knocked on the door.

A familiar voice sounded outside the door.

"Sir, the kitchen has prepared your wife's favorite roasted pig's trotter. Shall I bring it in for you now?"

Wen Wan's eyes lit up and she turned to look at the door. "Is it Agui?"

Shen Yu nodded, strode over and opened the door.

Outside the door, Agui was holding a tray with a roasted pig's trotter on it.

Shen Yu was a little dissatisfied: "Why didn't I realize you were so good at flattery before? Sending roasted pig's trotters so early in the morning? Aren't you tired of it?"

Agui stretched his neck to look into the room, not taking Shen Yu's dissatisfaction to heart at all.

He said aggrievedly, "Sir, I haven't seen Miss Wen for two years..."

How can I reminisce with Miss Wen without taking the opportunity to send her pig's trotters?

"Heh," Shen Yu sneered, took the tray from Agui's hand, and then closed the door in front of Agui.

Ah Gui's hands were empty, and his expression fell for a moment. He growled through the door:

"Sir, I just haven't seen you for a long time. I just wanted to catch up with Miss Wen. There's nothing else to it..."

From inside the door, Shen Yuliang's leisurely voice came, "If you have other intentions, can you still stand here in one piece?"

Ah Gui dared not speak out his anger, and muttered quietly, "You are so jealous."

In the room, Wen Wan watched Shen Yu stop Agui outside the door.

She glanced at Shen Yu and said, "Agui is my friend. I haven't seen him for two years. You wouldn't be jealous of him, would you?"

Shen Yu placed the roasted pig's trotter in front of her, crossed his arms over his chest, and smiled.

"You think he's your friend, but he's one of your men, so why would he tie you up and torture you?"

He said in a deep voice: "Eat quickly. When you're full, I'll take you out to vent your anger!"
