Chapter 2: A Little Bit of Knowledge

Chapter 2: A Little Bit of Knowledge

No one knew what route the bandits took, but the carriage was shaking and swaying. After half an hour, several of the hostages in the carriage had vomited out.

In ancient times, motion sickness was a common problem, and Wenwan felt very confused.

There was an unpleasant smell floating in the air. Wen Wan saw from the corner of her eye that Achai had a cold face and his brows were piled up like three mountains.

She hesitated for a moment and took out two homemade masks from her arms.

The mask was sewn with gauze. She was not good at needlework, so the stitches were crooked and the embroidered pattern was a simple cartoon kitten.

After she put on the mask, she handed the rest to Ah Chai and whispered, "Use this to block out the odor."

Ah Chai stared at her warily and asked in a low voice, "Why give it to me?"

As they were all prisoners, it was considered good enough for them to protect themselves. He didn't believe that anyone would show kindness to strangers casually.

Wenwan answered with great confidence.

"Because you are good-looking."

She is such a beauty-loving person!

Of course, people who are good-looking can get her preferential treatment.

Her answer was obviously incomprehensible to Achai.

When he looked at Wen Wan again, there was a kind of prying suspicion in his eyes.

The girl in front of him was not very old, about eighteen or nineteen years old. She looked pretty and sweet. She could not be called a stunning beauty, but her eyes were very clear. Even in the dim carriage, they looked like an extraordinary treasure shining with light.

It's a pity that such a girl is the concubine of a merchant family.

"Do you want it? If not, I'll give it to the little brother behind you." Wen Wan asked in a calm voice.

Sitting in the corner of the carriage, there were several young men of about the same age as Achai. Although they were not as handsome as Achai, they also had regular features and strong muscles.

They should be the "good-looking guys" that the bandits mentioned.

Achai moved his fingers and finally chose to take the mask and put it on.

After putting it on, his eyes changed and his brows gradually relaxed.

The carriage stopped in front of an abandoned mountain temple.

The hostages were driven into a room that was drafty on all sides.

This should be a stronghold of bandits. The dilapidated doors and windows are sealed with wooden boards, leaving only a hole slightly larger than a palm for delivering food.

A little moonlight filtered through the gaps in the wooden boards that sealed the windows, but the scattered light was barely enough to illuminate the huge room.

In the dark corner, the hostages who had experienced terror were able to take a break.

Because of mask diplomacy, Achai's attitude towards Wen Wan is not as disgusting as it was at the beginning.

So when Wen Wan sat down next to him, he didn't say anything to stop her.

Wen Wan lowered her voice and leaned close to his ear and asked, "Do you want to escape?"

Ah Chai was silent at first, then he said calmly, "Why, do you have a solution?"

"have!"

Wenwan answered with considerable confidence.

"Oh." Achai replied coldly.

In the darkness, neither of them could see each other's expressions and could only guess a little about each other's emotions from their tone.

From Achai's cold reaction, Wen Wan could see that he obviously didn't believe her.

"Don't disbelieve me, I really have a way."

Achai still said nothing.

Wen Wan hesitated for a moment, then lowered her voice and said, "Not only can I take you out, but I can also make you rich. Do you believe it?"

A Chai still refused to listen and ignored her.

Wen Wan sighed inwardly, thinking that God is indeed fair. Most good-looking people have unpopular personalities.

Achai is the typical type who won't cry until he sees the coffin.

After thinking it over, she decided to give him a little treat first.

Wen Wan raised her hand and knocked on the floor at her feet. The sound of knocking on the dirt floor was dull and nothing out of the ordinary.

"Two feet underground, there's an annex to an ancient tomb. Do you believe it?"

Not knowing which word in her words touched upon A Chai's key information, he suddenly grabbed her wrist.

"What did you say?"

Achai's reaction was beyond Wen Wan's expectations, and the pain in her wrist made her frown.

"It was pitch black, and you caught me straight away? Are you a martial artist?"

Her sharpness made a flash of surprise in Achai's eyes, but unfortunately, in the darkness, she did not notice the surprise.

Ah Chai admitted coldly, "I did learn Kung Fu for a few years. You said there's an ancient tomb down here?"

Wen Wan's plan was half successful as she had successfully piqued his interest.

"Yes. So, do you want to cooperate with me and escape together?"

After a brief silence, Achai finally responded with a "OK".

Wen Wan moved towards him with full justification.

"When I got off the carriage, I took the opportunity to observe the geographical location of this ancient temple. According to geomancy, this is not the right place to build a temple."

Ah Chai was stunned. "Geomancy?"

"Uh..." Wen Wan thought for a moment and explained, "Feng Shui is what you usually mean by Feng Shui."

Ah Chai said jokingly, "You are so young, and you still understand this?"

Wen Wan pursed her lips and said, "I know a little bit, but I don't understand it very well."

A Chai: "Keep talking."

Obviously interested in this.

Wen Wan: "When searching for a dragon, one must look at the winding mountains, each winding mountain is a barrier;

If a door is locked with a thousand locks, a king must be living there. According to geomancy, there should be a large tomb at this location, but now, a temple has been built where there should be a cemetery, which means..."

She deliberately kept it a secret and waited for Ah Chai to take up the conversation, but the young man didn't react at all.

It was so cold that it seemed like she was performing a solo.

Boring.

Wen Wan showed little interest and continued to sing, "The people who built the temple hated the owner of this tomb so much that they built a temple to suppress his ghost."

At that time, Wen Wan had no idea that what were just a few simple words to her would cause such a storm in the young man's heart.

They had spent so much time and effort, risked their lives, but still couldn't find the place.

This unremarkable girl actually said it in one word.

Just by taking a quick look at the terrain when she got off the carriage, she was able to analyze so much information...

Is this what you call knowing a thing or two?

Is this not considered understanding?

If the room wasn't so dark, Wen Wan might have been able to detect the vigilance and murderous intent in the young man's eyes.

Ah Chai asked coldly, "Who are you?"

"We discussed this at the inn, so let's not waste time dwelling on it. We don't have much time left, so let me first tell you my plan."

She didn't answer his question, but said to herself, "Here's what I think. Bandits want money, so let's bribe them."

"Tomorrow morning, when the bandits come to deliver food, I will tell them that there is an ancient tomb below. We will pretend to lead them on a treasure hunt. We will first enter the cemetery, and then..."

She was introducing herself confidently, but suddenly Ah Chai gave her a stern shout.

"no!"

Wen Wan was dissatisfied, "Why not?"
