"Before the Chinese New Year, I will definitely come back to spend the New Year with my baby." Xu Nuo always remembered this sentence and counted the time until the Chinese New Year in his mind every day.
He Ye often wrote letters, but because the journey was too far, a long time had passed before the letters reached him.
Sometimes there was a dried small flower stuck on the letter paper. Xu Nuo didn’t know the variety, but he could tell it was pretty, so he kept it together with the letter paper in a brocade box.
The letter said, "I miss you very much", "I had a dream last night that Nuonuo was playing with me when he was a child", "I ate a delicious fruit yesterday, which is not available in the capital. I will bring some for Nuonuo when I go back."
The letters he wrote seemed to be full of wild imagination and everything, but in fact, they always involved thoughts of him.
Xu Nuo didn't know how the war was going on the front line. Xu Min always told him that He Ye was born with supernatural powers and was invincible, but Xu Nuo was always afraid that He Ye would be injured by a blind sword if he was not careful.
Although they were at war, He Ye never mentioned the war in his letters. He just said that he was fine and the only bad thing was that he couldn't see him.
Xu Nuo knew that his handwriting was ugly and he was embarrassed to ask someone to write for him. Moreover, even if he picked up the pen, he would not know what to write. The corny words and unoriginal greetings were too pale, as if his thoughts and love suddenly became flat and vulgar through them.
He seemed to have lost some weight, though he himself didn't notice it, but his mother always told him that he had lost weight and asked him to eat more. Xu Nuo reluctantly accepted the sweet burden, but in his heart he was thinking, if only He Ye was here, he could put the leftover food into He Ye's bowl.
As he thought about it, he laughed again. Even if He Ye came back, it probably wouldn't work. The Queen Mother still wouldn't like him and probably wouldn't allow him to sit at the table for dinner.
"You are not angry now? Humph", 666 asked him unsatisfactorily, and Xu Nuo felt embarrassed to continue to be stubborn.
"I haven't forgiven him yet," the boy said, squatting under the plum tree in the yard, picking up petals, waiting to collect them all and glue them together to make a petal painting. It was obvious who he was showing it to. "I'm just a little angry. I need him to come back and make amends to me."
666 didn't comment and quickly went offline again.
…
He Ye returned the day before New Year's Day. He sent a pigeon letter to Xu Min, telling him that he could not wait to return to the capital with the army, and could not wait for his approval before entering the capital, so he came back secretly, and asked him to punish him later.
After receiving the letter, Xu Min didn't know whether to curse or get angry, and he was actually amused by anger.
Xu Nuo originally thought that He Ye would be notified in advance of his return, so he would have to pack up properly and pretend that he didn't want to come to pick him up and was just dragged here by his royal brother.
What he didn't expect was that on the morning of New Year's Day, he had just woken up and without even opening his eyes, he habitually hummed and rubbed twice on the bed.
A soft laugh came from his ear, and the familiar sound almost made Xu Nuo think he was hallucinating. But when he opened his eyes, he saw He Ye sitting in front of his couch with a smile on his face, his tall figure blocking some of the light coming through the window.
The sleepiness disappeared all of a sudden. Xu Nuo rubbed his eyes in disbelief, but the figure in front of him did not disappear.
It’s true, He Ye is back.
Just now, because of surprise, Xu Nuo sat up from the bed. The quilt slipped down and he was only wearing his inner clothes. Only then did he realize that he was cold and sneezed while covering his mouth.
He Ye wrapped him in a quilt and held him in his arms. He was not wearing armor and there was a fresh scent of soapberry on his body. He must have just taken a shower.
The two of them passed their body temperature to each other, and no one spoke again. It turned out that when you really hug your lover and touch each other, your brain becomes blank. All the things you had imagined before turned into nothingness, and you only know to continue to sink into love.
He did not ask why Xu Nuo had never written to him, nor did he ask him if he missed him. At this moment, silence was better than words, and each other's thoughts and affection could be expressed clearly at this moment.
"I'm back," He Ye buried his head in his shoulder and took a deep breath of his unique sweet fragrance. All the fatigue from traveling all night was worth it at this moment.
This time, Xu Nuo did not refuse. Instead, she put her arms around the man's neck and rubbed him dependently.
"Why did you come back so late..." The young man complained to him righteously, and then whispered softly, "I missed you..."
General He, who had excellent hearing, listened to every word, and the blood in his body began to boil like water in a kettle.
He Ye's kiss was just like him, straightforward and aggressive, as if to snatch all the breath away from the person. Xu Nuo leaned in his arms with a red face and breathed deeply, and the man behind her seemed to be ready to make a move again.
Xu Nuo put his hand on his chest to stop him from taking the next step, then raised his head like he was training a dog and gave him a light kiss on the lips.
"Don't kiss me again," the boy pulled the quilt to cover himself and warned him softly.
"Okay," He Ye lowered his head obediently, then held his wrist and pressed it to his lips and kissed it a few times, "Baby, let me kiss you again and again."
He was sticky and made Xu Nuo feel itchy. He could only push him away with a smile and pretend to scare him, "You returned to the capital without permission, aren't you afraid that the emperor will punish you?"
"Don't be afraid." He Ye continued to lower his head and smell his hair. The soapberry was mixed with a faint floral scent. "I sent him a message. I said I missed his brother so much that I couldn't wait any longer."
"You have no shame!"
Xu Nuo pushed him away and wrapped herself in the quilt. Her face flushed red, perhaps from shame or anger. "My brother will definitely laugh at me if he sees me!"
"No," He Ye chuckled. "If he dared to say that, I would immediately retire and no one would fight for him anymore."
