Chapter 21 World Three: Kapibara

Leaving the world again and coming to the system space, Xu Nuo seemed much calmer than last time.

"66, I have a question for you."

666 knew what he wanted to ask without having to guess. The puppy lowered its head, "I don't know - the hero is supposed to belong to his own world, and he can't travel through every world like you do..."

Xu Nuo touched it and said, "It's okay, just pass me to the next world."

"Don't you need to take a break, Nono?"

Xu Nuo shook his head, "I want to see him sooner."

When he opened his eyes again, Xu Nuo was no longer in the system space. "What is...?" Xu Nuo looked at the overalls on his body and the broom in his hand.

"The storyline has started to be transmitted~" 666 reminded.

In this world, Xu Nuo is an ordinary zookeeper. Because he's too much of a background NPC, he doesn't even have a single scene or lines. The protagonist in this world is a thousand-year-old wolf demon who has lived in the mountains for a long time. To protect his tribe from being implicated, he chooses to leave the mountains just as a thunderstorm is about to strike. Although he successfully advances, he suffers serious injuries.

According to common plots, the heroine or protagonist picks up the seriously injured hero and takes him home to care for him. The two of them fall in love over time and eventually reunite. However, in a world where the relationship is broken, the hero chooses to leave the house after being seriously injured, recovering alone. After recovering, he returns to the tribe in the mountains to cultivate, never entering the secular world.

Xu Nuo smacked her lips and said, "66, tell me where my husband is? I'll go get him!"

"Maybe... it's too late. The current plot point is that the hero has survived the thunder tribulation and is recovering from his injuries."

Xu Nuo was nervous, "He'll be fine, right..."

"Of course, the hero is a son of luck. No matter who is in trouble, he will be fine."

Xu Nuo felt relieved when he heard a rustling sound behind him. He turned around and saw two capybaras lying motionless in the pond, like statues.

This animal seemed to have magical powers. Xu Nuo sat on a rock next to the pond and stared at the capybara which was also motionless in a daze.

"It's strange 66, I feel very calm now, I don't want to do anything, I don't want to move."

666 assured him, "Every world will have a slight impact on your personality, though it can be large or small. Perhaps this original character's personality is like that, so you'll also change."

Xu Nuo nodded indifferently, sitting on the rock, occasionally touching the two capybaras, or just relaxing himself.

"So cute... Is this the charm of Kapibala?"

"How can you be as cute as me?" the puppy transformed by 666 retorted.

Xu Nuo ignored him and continued to relax. Fortunately, this zoo was located in the suburbs, in a remote area with very few tourists coming and going. The capybara area was even more remote, so Xu Nuo spent the entire afternoon alone with the two capybaras without being disturbed.

Xu Nuo didn't know that his peaceful afternoon was being watched by another figure hiding in the distance.

In order to prevent the thunder tribulation from affecting the tribe's territory, Lang Heng ran out of the mountains alone to the wilderness and endured this trial alone. Lang Heng could feel that the breath and veins in his body were more stable and clear than before, and his perception of the outside world was more sensitive and thorough. However, the price of advancement was the terrible scars on his body that were deep enough to see the bones.

Lang Heng had been staying behind the bushes for a long time. His excellent eyesight and hearing allowed him to clearly see Xu Nuo not far away.

At first, Lang Heng simply lay there, watching the two creatures motionless in the distant pond. If he hadn't been able to feel the rise and fall of their breathing, Lang Heng would have almost mistaken them for ordinary ornaments. Lang Heng's tribulation-removing journey out of the mountains had given him a rather frightening shock. His last impression of the human world was still of those people, full of nonsense and the constant wars and disputes. Although he couldn't hear the fighting now, the metal monsters speeding by, the giant cubes with people singing and dancing nonstop at the loudest volume, all made Lang Heng even more uneasy... and then there were the two animals in the distance, whose ugliness was beyond his imagination.

Perhaps out of boredom, Lang Heng simply lay there, circulating his internal energy to heal his meridians while observing the two stupid and ugly creatures.

Soon, a handsome and exquisite young man appeared in Lang Heng's vision. The young man threw down the broom in his hand, sat on the stone next to the two creatures, and began to stare blankly in the same way.

Lang Heng had a strange idea in his mind: could the young man also be the incarnation of a creature that had become a spirit? Otherwise, why would their habits be so similar? But he didn't sense any familiar demonic power in the young man, and his appearance was so superior that he didn't look like the incarnation of a hairy, long-mouthed animal at all.

Lang Heng was still struggling with the difficult problem he had set for himself when a furry little creature nudged his hind legs. The great demon with a thousand-year-old cultivation had already noticed the little wolf cub as soon as he entered his territory, but he just acquiesced to his approach.

"Langxi, what are you doing here?"

"Grandfather, I'm worried that you might get hurt." The little wolf cub rubbed him trustingly.

"I'm afraid you're looking for an excuse to go down the mountain and play."

Lang Xi felt guilty, but he didn't refute her. Lang Heng didn't care either. There were many younger generations in the clan, and according to his age and cultivation level, they all addressed him as "ancestor". These wolf cubs were used to being wild, so they kept thinking about leaving the mountain after just a few days of transforming.

"Langxi, do you know what that creature over there is?"

Lang Xi looked over and said, "Grandfather, that's a capybara, an animal brought back from somewhere else by humans. It looks strange but also kind of cute. Hmm... the humans next to them should be their keepers—they're responsible for taking care of them."

Lang Heng nodded, his gaze returning to the small human.

Seeing him staring at that place, Lang Xi couldn't help but encourage him, "Grandfather, let's go over and take a look. I haven't been there yet, and that human is so beautiful, the most beautiful human I've ever seen."

Lang Heng remained silent and did not comment, but Lang Xi ignored him and took advantage of him not paying attention to slip through the gap in the railing with a whoosh.

Xu Nuo was daydreaming when he saw a gray thing that looked like a puppy rolling not far away.

Xu Nuo glanced at them indifferently, and soon immersed himself in his own little world with the two emotionally stable Kapibalas beside him.

Lang Xi was ashamed and ran away quietly with his tail between his legs. He went to a remote corner and transformed himself. A little boy with a dirty face appeared out of thin air in his place.

Lang Xi ran towards Xu Nuo not far away with bright eyes excitedly, not noticing the increasingly gloomy look of the old ancestor in the distance.
