"Brother! You are so handsome!" Lang Xi's eyes were shining, and he leaned over like a puppy, hoping that Xu Nuo would touch his head.
Xu Nuo was puzzled. "Thank you, little friend, but tourists are not allowed to go inside. You can go back to the stands to watch the animals."
Lang Xi pouted and sat on the ground, "I want to play here."
"Oh, okay then." Xu Nuo was too lazy to pay attention to this naughty kid.
"Why don't you touch my head to comfort me?" Lang Xi asked him, looking up at himself and feeling bored.
"Oh." Xu Nuo raised his hand and casually touched his head. Lang Xi was easy to coax and became visibly happy.
The park radio began playing soothing music and announced the park closure.
Xu Nuo stood up, filled the feed basket by the pond with hay, and slowly stood up to prepare to go home from get off work.
"I have to get off work, kiddo."
"My name is Xi! Xiao Xi!"
"I'm getting off work, Xiaoxi." Xu Nuo repeated.
"I want to go with you! I have no family, only an old... old uncle, and he's lost. Please take me away, pretty brother."
Xu Nuo really couldn't bear to see such a young child wandering the streets, so he nodded and motioned him to follow him. No matter how he looked at it, the child didn't look like an orphan who would wander the streets, but Xu Nuo was too lazy to think about it. He decided to take it one step at a time. At worst, he could just send him to the police tomorrow.
"66, the world's influence is really great. I am so calm now."
666 agreed. The host's emotions had never been so stable.
After Xu Nuo confirmed that there were really no parents looking for the child in the zoo, he brought the boy named Xiaoxi back to the small apartment he rented near the zoo.
The apartment was actually a small two-story building, the kind common in rural areas. The original landlord had moved out because it was too remote, and rented it to Xu Nuo at a low price. Xu Nuo didn't have high standards for quality of life; just enough to eat and stay warm was enough. He was used to living alone in this small house, and if there was a room available and he could find a roommate to share the rent, that would be even better.
Xiaoxi, however, looked up and down the room and asked in surprise, "Aren't you afraid of living here alone?"
Xu Nuo yawned. "It's not bad. It's very close to the zoo. There's even a small vegetable patch at the entrance. It's very convenient."
Xiaoxi stared at the handsome brother in front of her. Seeing that he finished speaking and then slumped on the sofa as if he was about to fall asleep, she couldn't help but go over to make her presence felt.
"Brother, you haven't told me your name yet?"
"Promise."
"Then Brother Nuonuo, can I live with you in the future?"
Xu Nuo was puzzled, "Where is your uncle?"
Xiaoxi lowered her head and made a lost expression. "He's injured. I don't know where he is now. Can you take my uncle in?"
Xu Nuo continued to lie paralyzed, "I can help you call the police for help."
Xiaoxi's expression froze on her face.
Lang Xi and Lang Heng seemed to have telepathic connection. As soon as Lang Xi asked Xu Nuo about taking him in, he followed them, smelling their scent.
There was a knock on the door.
"Who is it?" Xu Nuo stood up and opened the door.
Outside the door stood a tall, unshaven man with his head lowered, his expression unclear. "Hello, I'm here to look for my nephew."
Obviously, Lang Heng had been listening to their conversation for a while.
Xu Nuo turned around and looked at Xiao Xi behind him. Lang Heng gave him a silent warning. Lang Xi lowered his head guiltily, "Uncle."
Xu Nuo turned sideways, wanting him to go find his uncle, and heard him shout exaggeratedly, "Uncle, how are you injured so badly!"
Lang Heng had never lost this man before. He suppressed his anger and looked up at Lang Xi. Xu Nuo recognized his lover at a glance. Even though his heart was filled with joy of reunion, he looked calmly at the wound on the man's body. "Sir, do you need me to call 911 for you?"
Lang Heng shook his head and listened to Lang Xi continue his performance, "Brother Nuonuo, can you let my uncle come in and take a break? We are so pitiful..."
Xu Nuo nodded and made way for Lang Heng.
Lang Heng had no choice but to nod at the little human he had been spying on all afternoon, "Sorry for the trouble."
"What's your name?" Xu Nuo asked while rummaging through the medicine box.
"Lang Heng, his name is Lang Xi."
Xu Nuo nodded and said, "My name is Xu Nuo," while handing the bandage and iodine to the man. The man thanked him and took it, his tone full of alienation and vigilance.
Xu Nuo felt a little disappointed, but he didn't say much. Lang Xi, on the other hand, kept talking like a little megaphone.
"Brother Nuonuo, don't you want to find someone to share the apartment with? What do you think of me and my uncle?"
"Lang Xi," Lang Heng stopped him. Looking at Lang Xi who was sticking to Xu Nuo and talking non-stop, he felt inexplicably uncomfortable. He just hoped that the wolf cub who didn't understand his expressions would shut up and go back to the mountains.
This time, Lang Xi seemed to be certain that someone was present and that Lang Heng couldn't do anything to him, so he continued to rant and ramble, "Brother Nuonuo, it's so inconvenient for you to find another tenant. You don't know him well, and what if he's a bad guy with ulterior motives towards you?"
Xu Nuo wanted to say, I don’t actually understand you guys now, but he wisely swallowed it back and subconsciously looked at the lover he depended on as if asking for help.
Lang Heng himself didn't realize that when the young man's eyes fell on him, his expression softened visibly. As if bewildered, he blurted out, "Xiao Xi makes sense. I also want to rent a house. What do you think, Mr. Xu?"
Xu Nuo thought for a moment and nodded, "Okay, do you want me to show you the room?"
Lang Xi quickly replied, "No need! I'm willing to do anything to live with Brother Nuonuo."
