Chapter 25 World Three: Capybara Enters the Wolf's Den

Xu Nuo only felt that someone was holding him up in his sleep, and then he woke up with a slight shaking.

"Hmm..." Xu Nuo opened his eyes and found himself immersed in Lang Heng's warm and fluffy fur. Xu Nuo subconsciously rubbed his face against it and only reacted when he felt the body beneath him stiffen.

"Ao!" Lang Xi made an excited sound, which scared Xu Nuo.

"Lang Xi!" Lang Heng warned.

Xu Nuo looked around and found that he was being carried on the back of Wolf Heng. There were also several adult giant wolves and a little wolf cub around him. The little wolf was hanging his head and looking dejected. It was Wolf Xi who had just been warned.

Several wolves ran forward quickly, and the surrounding trees quickly retreated. In the distance, one could vaguely see an open plain and a fairly wide stream. A large number of wolves were scattered everywhere doing their own things, which seemed peaceful.

"Lang Heng, why don't you put me down? You're still injured."

Lang Heng didn't slow down, but simply said, "How long will it take you to get there if you walk down by yourself?"

Xu Nuo listened to the whistling wind in his ears and said nothing.

"Ancestor, how about I carry him on my back?" One of the two giant wolves behind Lang Heng spoke.

Lang Heng glanced at him from the corner of his eye. The giant wolf that had been so majestic just now immediately wilted and stopped talking. Lang Xi, on the other hand, couldn't help but snored a few times, and no one knew what it meant.

Xu Nuo didn't resist anymore and curled up on his back obediently to avoid the oncoming wind.

The wolves were very fast, and the plain that had seemed some distance away was now reached in no time. Xu Nuo jumped off Lang Heng's back, carefully confirming that he was alright, and then he felt relieved and touched the huge wolf's head. The wounds on Lang Heng's body that had been crisscrossed were now healing. It seemed that the great demon had not deceived him.

Lang Xi came over and nudged Xu Nuo's hand with his nose. Xu Nuo was surprised and leaned over to touch the little wolf cub's head.

The air pressure around Lang Heng dropped, and Lang Xi wisely ran away.

"You don't have to be afraid. There are no wolves here who will hurt you..." Lang Heng softened his voice, changing his previous cold and fierce tone. He added uncomfortably, "Wolves don't eat capybaras either."

Xu Nuo was confused by what he said, but he realized that he was probably trying to comfort himself, so he nodded obediently.

"Follow me." Lang Heng said, walking forward without looking back.

Xu Nuo followed him obediently and came to a spacious stone cave. The cave was very clean, without any weeds or unpleasant smells, so clean that it seemed a bit bare...

Xu Nuo looked around. There was only a stone bed and a stone table in the stone cave. The faint candlelight flickering on the stone table was specially created by Lang Heng.

Xu Nuo was very accepting of all this. He just felt that having a place to shelter from the wind and rain tonight was enough. However, Lang Heng looked a little embarrassed after seeing Xu Nuo walk into his cave. The boy with fair and delicate skin walked in, as if he was separated from this simple stone by a world. The boy stood quietly with his eyes lowered by the candlelight. Against the backdrop of the surrounding environment, he looked like a pure white lotus blooming in the mud.

Lang Heng has been concentrating on cultivation for thousands of years and has not cared about worldly affairs. Anyway, he has been practicing fasting for a long time and rarely needs sleep in the later stages of cultivation. Therefore, the nest in the stone cave may be more simple than the nest of any member of the tribe.

"Xu Nuo... Are you going back tomorrow? I'll take you there." Lang Heng tried to change the subject, but did not mention the transfer spell he often used.

"You'd better take good care of your injuries. I don't have work tomorrow, so there's no rush." Xu Nuo was still the same, unhurried and there was no sign of the anxiety and nervousness he had shown before because of worrying about Lang Heng.

"Yeah." Lang Heng answered, and the two fell into silence for a while.

"Brother Nuonuo...are you there?" Lang Xi's deliberately lowered voice came from the cave entrance, breaking the silence in the room.

Xu Nuo subconsciously glanced at Lang Heng, and seeing the helpless look in his eyes, he knew that he agreed to let Lang Xi in.

"I'm here, Xiaoxi."

As expected, Lang Xi ran in like a little cannonball and crashed into his arms, "Brother Nuonuo, come to my house and sleep! My house is very nice, and there's a TV for you to watch too!"

Lang Heng's face darkened. He probably didn't understand any of the strange things invented by humans today. On the contrary, the other tribesmen who always ran down the mountain filled their caves with human objects.

Xu Nuo glanced at his lover who was sulking again, and smiled at Lang Xi, "No need, Xiao Xi, this place is fine."

Lang Xi lowered his tail, looking listless, "Okay—"

"You should go back, Lang Xi." Lang Heng said lightly. For some reason, Xu Nuo heard a hint of pride in his voice.

After Lang Xi left, the petty black wolf nodded in satisfaction, conjured up a few soft quilts on the stone bed and spread them together, motioning Xu Nuo to come over.

Xu Nuo walked over and sat on the bed and bounced around. Lang Heng had laid out so many layers of mattresses that even the Princess and the Pea would be able to sleep well.

"What...what do you call Lang Xi?" Lang Heng suddenly spoke, saying something incoherent.

"Xiao Xi." Xu Nuo tilted his head and looked at him in confusion.

"Oh." Lang Heng turned his head to avoid Xu Nuo's sight.

Xu Nuo looked at the big wolf lying awkwardly on the ground, and vaguely had the answer in his mind.

"Ah Heng...?" Xu Nuo asked tentatively.

The black wolf on the ground suddenly changed back into human form, blushed, turned its head away and coughed twice as if in disguise.

"Um…"

"Then... Ah Heng, do you want to come up and sleep?" Xu Nuo asked.

Lang Heng stood there for a while, hesitated for a moment, and then immediately climbed onto the bed.

Xu Nuo's ears turned red in a place where no one was paying attention. He moved inward, closed his eyes and lay down. After a while, he felt the mattress beside him sink.

The warm body temperature came from their arms, and both of their heartbeats accelerated unconsciously.

"Aheng, good night." Xu Nuo said softly.

"Good night..." Lang Heng paused and responded.

"Ding! Heart rate 70!"

The system's prompt sound was particularly obvious in the quiet night. Xu Nuo raised a faint smile and fell into a deep sleep.
