Jiang Sinian was busy for several days non-stop. Even the short sleep every night was always restless. When he closed his eyes, the greedy and ferocious mouths of those people would appear in front of him. Occasionally he would dream about Xu Nuo, but he would fall into the nightmare again and again. In the dream, they did not meet in reality. Everything was just a dream of his.
Maybe it was the warmth in his arms or the familiar smell of his breath, but Jiang Sinian had a good sleep that night.
When Xu Nuo woke up from Jiang Sinian's arms in a daze, the man was still sleeping soundly.
The two of them were only a few inches apart, and Xu Nuo could see the faint blue color under his eyelashes that were as long as crow feathers, and the lines of his cheeks seemed to be sharper.
"You've lost a little weight," Xu Nuo said silently in his heart, his eyes scanning his sleeping face and the small mole on his neck inch by inch.
When Jiang Sinian was asleep, he looked less aggressive than usual. His aggressive facial features softened, and his hair fell smoothly on his forehead, making him look like a handsome college student. Xu Nuo stared at him and blushed first.
The curtains hadn't been drawn tightly last night, leaving a narrow gap that now let a beam of light shine onto the bed. When the sun reached its zenith, the light fell directly on Jiang Sinian.
Xu Nuo carefully pulled her hand out from under his arm and placed it above Jiang Sinian's face, with the shadow just enough to cover his face.
Without the disturbing light, Jiang Sinian's expression was obviously more relaxed.
Jiang Sinian opened his eyes only when Xu Nuo's arm was so sore that he could hardly lift it. Unlike Xu Nuo, who needed a while to recover and be dazed, Jiang Sinian looked as clear-headed and rational as usual shortly after waking up.
"Are you blocking the light for me?" His voice was still a little hoarse after he woke up, and it sounded a bit bewitching in his ears.
Xu Nuo nodded, and naturally rubbed against his arms again, massaging her sore arms.
"Why are you so good...my dear wife..."
The arm around his waist tightened a little. Xu Nuo felt a little embarrassed and didn't look at him, deliberately changing the subject. "Did you sleep well?"
"Very good," Jiang Sinian rubbed the back of his head. "This is the best night's sleep I've had recently. Thank you, Nuonuo."
"You haven't had enough rest these days..." Xu Nuo buried herself in his arms, and the heat from her breath hit Jiang Sinian's collarbone.
"Go home with me today? Do you still need to go to the company?"
"Um...will it bother me if I take you home?"
"Of course not!" Xu Nuo sat up from the bed, his eyes shining, "My mother praised you before!"
"...I need to tell Aunt Wang that her soup is so delicious! You need to replenish your energy, no! I'm going to make a phone call now!"
Before Jiang Sinian reached out to stop him, he saw him jump out of bed like a little cannonball to pick up the phone, and then mumbled a few words into the phone with a serious expression.
"Okay! I told Mom and Dad!"
"Baby," Jiang Sinian said with difficulty, "Does your uncle already know that you were here last night?"
"...Ah, hehe," Xu Nuo grinned guiltily, "I think it's okay. My dad just looks fierce."
"Well... let's go and wash up."
Jiang Sinian quickly typed on his phone and gave instructions to his secretary, pretending to be relaxed as he took Xu Nuo to the sink.
jsn: The paintings and wine I bought at the auction are all ready.
jsn: Go to my mom's collection and get two sets of jewelry
Secretary Li on the other side replied efficiently with "Got it", but he was secretly complaining in his heart, why didn't the boss use punctuation marks strictly today?
