(Nono and Shen Heyang swapped identities, still following the same routine. Both of them are native to the world without a system. Nono is a human, and Shen Heyang is a zombie.)
"Sizzle", the plastic bread bag was torn open, and Xu Nuo took a big bite of the bread that was almost dried up.
It was dry and choking. The boy patted his chest hurriedly to breathe in, and a stream of clear water poured into his mouth.
"Ahem," Xu Nuo swallowed the bread mixed with water.
Outside the empty window of the abandoned building, a tall figure was squatting behind the bushes, looking up at the boy standing by the window.
Xu Nuo had no idea about the impending danger. He only knew that his last supply of food had been eaten up and that hiding here was no longer a solution. In the end, he would either starve to death or be bitten to death by zombies.
The moon by the window was so big that it seemed to fall from the sky, emitting a soft and clear light.
Before the end of the world, Xu Nuo didn't mind sitting by the window in his little nest, wrapped in a blanket, eating potato chips and watching the moon. But when survival became a problem, people could no longer have the leisure and elegance to do so.
If there is no food, just sleep a little longer to save your energy. The handsome boy sighed, tightened the blanket around his body, curled up on the mattress on the ground and fell into a deep sleep.
As if sensing the humans in the building had fallen asleep, Shen Heyang lowered his head again. The tall zombie stood there for a moment, then moved towards the building.
In the smallest room at the end of the third floor, Xu Nuo was sleeping soundly buried in a blanket. The zombies walked steadily without making any sound until they reached him.
In the month since he turned into a zombie, Shen Heyang has been living in a daze. He fought alone against the zombie tide, but was eventually defeated due to energy depletion. He was accidentally scratched by a zombie, and his consciousness began to dissipate.
In the last second before he passed out, Shen Heyang felt only relief. After being alone for so long and fighting endlessly, the future had become a luxury for him or for other survivors.
Becoming a zombie or being eaten by them is a relief.
The funny thing is, God didn't fulfill his wish.
When he woke up again, his skin had turned a sickly bluish-white, but fortunately, it hadn't decayed like other zombies. Shen Heyang sadly discovered that he had become a high-level zombie, but he still retained his thoughts and could even use his supernatural powers.
It was undoubtedly another form of torture. Shen Heyang had no idea how long a zombie's life could last. He even tried to kill himself with his supernatural powers, but in the end it was in vain.
He had originally thought that encountering other superpowered people would end his life, but he didn't expect those idiots to turn and run away upon seeing him. Shen Heyang simply wandered to the outskirts of the city according to his previous memories, but he didn't expect that the abandoned building standing on the outskirts of the city had also been occupied.
Shen Heyang had never eaten since he became a zombie, and for the first time, he smelled an irresistible aroma.
The smell came from the only little human in the building. His figure often appeared by the window and sat there for the whole day. Shen Heyang waited downstairs for three days, but he didn't notice it.
How slow-witted! Not only slow-witted but also stupid. He has a good-looking appearance but the bad thoughts of a zombie.
Shen Heyang withdrew his thoughts and quietly looked at the little creature in front of him. Its skin was porcelain white, and the tip of its nose was rubbed with dust, making the abrupt gray streak on its face look somewhat comical and cute. Its eyelashes were thick and long, and its cherry-colored lips were plump, slightly parted, exhaling a sweet breath.
A large hand with a light blue color stretched out, paused in the air for a long time, and finally landed on his cheek.
The boy was short of food and tried to save as much as possible, so he was still petite, but unexpectedly he had cheeks that felt very nice.
Shen Heyang couldn't help but use a little force, and his chubby face soon turned lightly red. He woke up from his dream and withdrew his hand as if he had been burned.
Fortunately, Xu Nuo was sleeping soundly. He just hummed twice, turned over and fell into the next dream.
Shen Heyang didn't dare touch him again. He just stood beside him, staring at his sleeping face in a daze.
Unconsciously, the sky had begun to turn white. It wouldn't be long before the sleeping little human would wake up. Thinking of his thin body and slender wrists with visible blue veins, Shen Heyang frowned and turned to leave.
Shen Heyang walked for a few kilometers and came back with a bag of bread, chocolate and other snacks. The other survivors were scared by him and dared not approach him, which made things convenient for him.
Zombies don't feel tired, and he's a high-level zombie who retains the abilities of a superpower. It only took Shen Heyang two hours to get back to the building after the long journey.
When he came back, Xu Nuo was still sleeping in the same position as before. Shen Heyang quietly placed the bag next to his pillow, and the plastic bag made a slight sound.
After putting away the shopping bags quietly, Shen Heyang looked up again and saw that the boy who had been sleeping had woken up while rubbing his eyes.
"Who are you…?"
Xu Nuo had just woken up, his mind still in a mess, so he asked subconsciously. After he finished speaking, he realized that the tall man in front of him had an abnormal blue color on his skin and his expression was frozen.
He is a zombie!
Xu Nuo was so frightened that he lost his voice, supporting himself with trembling, powerless hands and moving backwards. Shen Heyang was frozen in place by his terrified gaze, his mouth sealed shut, opening and closing but unable to utter a single word.
The boy pressed against the corner seemed even more frightened, his eyes closed and he remained motionless. Shen Heyang, carrying a full shopping bag, unexpectedly felt a rare pang of guilt.
The bag was pushed forward and landed at the boy's feet. Shen Heyang weakly let go of his hand and turned away.
